Зазначається, що найбільші втрати зафіксовані в Північній Кароліні, де загинуло 56 осіб, зокрема через повені у внутрішніх районах штату.
За офіційними даними, у Південній Кароліні жертвами урагану стали 30 осіб, у Джорджії – 25, у Флориді – 11, у Теннессі – четверо та у Вірджинії – двоє.
Наразі повідомляється про понад 600 людей, зниклих безвісти внаслідок стихії. Повені перекрили сотні автомобільних доріг, десятки тисяч помешкань залишилися без світла та зв’язку.

4 серпня на узбережжі поблизу Кі-Веста перехожий виявив першу партію – 25 пакунків кокаїну. Вартість знахідки на чорному ринку становить понад мільйон доларів.
Через тиждень офіс шерифа округу Кольєр заявив про ще одну знайдену у воді партію кокаїну, цього разу вартістю 625 тисяч доларів. Пакунки також виявили добропорядні громадяни, які саме плавали на човні.
«Ми цінуємо допомогу порядних людей нашої громади, які, побачивши щось незвичайне, повідомили поліцію», – написав шериф Кевін Рембош у Facebook.
Судячи з мушель на пакунках, вони перебували у воді вже доволі довго. Правоохоронці намагаються з’ясувати, звідки перевозили кокаїн. «Це значна кількість наркотиків», – зазначив у своєму дописі шериф.

Тропічний шторм Деббі, який на початку минулого тижня обрушився на Флориду, в суботу залишив позаду штати східного узбережжя США, завдавши серйозних руйнувань і спричинивши кілька людських жертв.
У п’ятницю в штатах Пенсильванія і Нью-Йорк дощі спричинили розлив кількох річок, затопивши будинки і змусивши евакуювати мешканців у кількох місцях.
В окрузі Стьюбен у штаті Нью-Йорк, що межує з Пенсильванією, кілька людей опинилися в пастці в будинках, оточених розлитою річкою. Частина повені була у формі зливових паводків, що залишило дуже мало часу на підготовку.
В окрузі Тіога, штат Пенсильванія, були підняті по тривозі гелікоптери рятувальників, щоб допомогти людям, які потрапили в біду.
Штормова погода зачепила все східне узбережжя: у четвер було оголошено попередження про торнадо у Вашингтоні, а також попередження про повені в окрузі Колумбія. Центр міста Аннаполіс, штат Меріленд, також був частково затоплений раптовими паводками.
У Північній і Південній Кароліні найбільшої шкоди шторм завдав у середині тижня, а одне поселення, Монкс Корнер поблизу Чарльстона, було затоплене на висоту майже метра.
На півдні Джорджії вісім річкових дамб прорвали дощові води, що змусило багатьох людей покинути свої домівки і сховатися в притулках, доки не спаде вода.
Загалом у постраждалих районах внаслідок урагану „Деббі” і тропічного шторму „Деббі” загинуло щонайменше вісім осіб. 78-річна жінка загинула, коли її легкий мобільний будинок майже навпіл розрізало падаюче дерево в Північній Кароліні.

Щонайменше семеро людей загинули в Карибському басейні через ураган «Берил», який зараз прямує до Ямайки та Кайманових островів, попередив у вівторок увечері Центр ураганів США (NHC).
Кількість загиблих у Венесуелі зросла до трьох осіб. У Гренаді, яка в понеділок постраждала від шторму, негода забрала життя щонайменше трьох людей. Одна особа загинула також у Сент-Вінсенті. У Бріджтауні, столиці Барбадосу, затоплені будинки та підприємства, пошкоджені рибальські човни. На французькому острові Мартініка, за повідомленням електроенергетичної компанії EDF, затоплені вулиці, близько 10 000 клієнтів залишилися без електрики. У Домініканській Республіці величезні хвилі накрили узбережжя столиці Санто-Домінго, повідомляє французьке інформаційне агентство AFP з посиланням на місцеві джерела.
«Надзвичайно потужний вітер, потенційно смертельне підняття рівня моря та руйнівні хвилі очікуються на Ямайці й Кайманових островах протягом дня та ввечері в середу», – ідеться в заяві NHC. Зазначається також, що ураган супроводжують пориви вітру до 250 кілометрів на годину.
«Хорошою новиною є те, що «Берил» почав потроху слабшати», – сказав Майкл Бреннан, директор NHC, який назвав шторм надзвичайно небезпечним. Він додав, що «Берил» може досягти Ямайки як ураган третьої або четвертої категорії й завдати значної шкоди, особливо будинкам, дахам, деревам та лініям електропередачі.
Прем’єр-міністр Ямайки Ендрю Холнесс у вівторок закликав усіх ямайців, які перебувають у зоні урагану, запастися їжею, батарейками, свічками й водою, а також покласти свої найважливіші документи в безпечне місце.
Окрім Ямайки, попередження про ураган оголосили також на Кайманових островах. Очікується, що циклон накриє цю територію або пронесеться над нею в ніч із середи на четвер, повідомляє NHC.
У четвер увечері «Берил» дійде до південної частини Гаїті, послабиться і досягне мексиканського півострова Юкатан.
Це перший атлантичний ураган цього сезону. Настільки потужний шторм є надзвичайно рідкісним явищем на такому ранньому етапі сезону ураганів.

В аргентинському місті Баїя-Бланка через потужний ураган обвалився дах у спортивному клубі Bahiense del Norte, унаслідок чого щонайменше 13 людей загинули.
Про це повідомляє Independent, передає Укрінформ.
Місцеві ЗМІ пишуть, що у спортклубі проходили змагання з катання на ковзанах, коли на місто обрушився ураган.
„На жаль, служба екстреної допомоги підтверджує смерть 13 людей у клубі Bahiense del Norte”, – йдеться в заяві муніципалітету.
Зазначається, що на місці події працюють рятувальники, оскільки під завалами можуть перебувати інші люди.
Президент Аргентини Хав’єр Мілей висловив співчуття сім’ям загиблих. «Президент країни висловлює глибокі співчуття родині та друзям тих, хто загинув унаслідок шторму», — йдеться в заяві його офісу.
Там наголосили, що пориви вітру перевищували 150 км/год у Баїя-Бланка, що призвело до відключення електроенергії. У районах провінції Буенос-Айрес діє помаранчевий рівень небезпеки.
На даний момент уряд працює разом з провінційними та муніципальними органами влади, щоб допомогти постраждалим і підрахувати збитки.
Жителям рекомендують залишатися вдома.

Три людини загинули і кілька десятків постраждали внаслідок урагану в Росії. Шквальний вітер вирує в Кемеровській області, Алтайському краї та інших регіонах Сибіру. Також був зачеплений Казахстан.
Двоє людей загинули в Новокузнецьку Кемеровської області дорогою на похорон. На машину, в якій перебувало четверо людей, упало дерево.
А в Алтайському краї загинула жінка, яка, як повідомляється, намагалася втримати дах будинку, який зносило сильним вітром.
Очевидці повідомляють, що найбільше негода вдарила по містах Алтайського краю, Кемеровської, Омської та Новосибірської областей. Десятки населених пунктів залишилися без електрики. У Новокузнецьку світло відключилося під час хокейного матчу. Через ураган було перекрито кілька трас, на які попадали дерева.
“Вітер зносить дахи будинків, стовпи, дерева та автомобілі. У Бійську ураган зніс купол храму, а в Новокузнецьку — вивіску біля торгового центру, яка впала на жінку. Через ураган дерева завалили трасу Сорокине–Бійськ, зараз дорогу намагаються звільнити рятувальники МНС. У деяких будинках немає електрики. Водночас влада повідомляє, що найближчим часом не варто очікувати поліпшення погодних умов”, — повідомляють очевидці.
За даними синоптиків, швидкість вітру може сягати 33–35 м/с. Така погода збережеться до кінця дня. А губернатор Алтайського краю заявив, що окрім буревію на жителів регіону чекає також мороз та ожеледь.
Постраждали й населені пункти в Казахстані: у Павлодарській області без електрики залишилися жителі 40 сіл, у Караганді повалено дерева і пошкоджено дахи житлових будинків, в Астані вітер перевернув кілька автомобілів.
Екібастузька ТЕЦ залишилася без напруги через ураган: роботу котлів відновлюють поетапно, заявили сьогодні в Міненерго Казахстану.

Зазначається, що ураган обрушився на курорт Акапулько, розташований на тихоокеанському березі Мексики, у середу зі швидкістю вітру 266 км/год. Внаслідок негоди під водою опинилося ціле місто.
За інформацією місцевої влади, кількість жертв стихійного лиха сягнула 43 осіб, а близько 10 людей вважаються зниклими безвісти.
Також влада повідомила, що понад 220 тисяч будинків і 80% готельного сектору постраждали, а понад 513 тисяч людей залишилися без електрики.

Крім того, жителі постраждалої від стихії місцевості «щосили намагаються знайти їжу та воду» і звинувачують уряд Мексики в недостатній допомозі.

Один із найпотужніших штормів в історії Мексики забрав життя 27 людей і завдав курортному місту мільярдних збитків.
Місто Акапулько, де шторм спричинив масштабні руйнування, заполонили мародери. Ураган Отіс обрушився на курортне місто на тихоокеанському узбережжі зі швидкістю вітру 266 кілометрів на годину та спричинив мільярдні збитки. Внаслідок шторму загинуло 27 людей.
«Це повний хаос. Неможливо описати, що я бачу, немає слів. Я ніколи в житті не бачив нічого подібного. Акапулько зруйноване. Немає доріг, води, електрики. Пляж перетворився на купу сміття», – повідомив ЗМІ власник одного з ресторанів. Один із туристів зазначив, що не міг навіть уявити, що потрапить у таку ситуацію. Вони дуже чекали на цю поїздку, приїхали на два тижні, але на четвертий день усе закінчилося.
Президент Мексики Андрес Мануель Лопес Обрадор закликав місцевих жителів не зловживати нагодою і не грабувати пошкоджені магазини та будівлі. Президент також пообіцяв, що уряд допоможе постраждалим від стихії.
Половина міста з населенням близько мільйона людей все ще залишається без електрики, але аеропорт знову працює. Влада оголосила надзвичайний стан і створила повітряний коридор між Акапулько та Мехіко для евакуації туристів.
