Протягом місяця вандали вже тричі пошкодили римський Колізей – пам’ятку давньоримської архітектури, одну з найбільш грандіозних та відомих споруд античного світу. Тож уряд Італії вирішив збільшити суму штрафу за подібні злочини.
Наприкінці червня 27-річний чоловік болгарського походження, який живе в Брістолі, вишкрябав на внутрішній стіні давньоримського амфітеатру своє ім’я та ім’я своєї дівчини.
Колізей є не лише пам’яткою давньоримської архітектури та однією з найбільш грандіозних і відомих споруд античного світу, але й пам’яткою всесвітньої спадщини. Тож за вандалізм туристам загрожує штраф у розмірі 15 тисяч євро та ув’язнення на строк до п’яти років.
Попри те, що подія широко висвітлювалась у ЗМІ й отримала значний резонанс, протягом наступних кількох тижнів сталися ще два подібні випадки.
Зокрема 14 липня затримали 17-річну швейцарку, яку зняли на камеру, коли вона намагалася нашкрябати свої ініціали на камені стародавньої арени. А наступного дня поліція спіймала 17-річного німецького учня, який щось вирізав у стіні на першому поверсі Колізею.
Ще у квітні уряд Італії представив законопроєкт, який посилить покарання за пошкодження творів мистецтва та вандалізм на об’єктах культури. Наприклад, для тих, хто вишкрябує щось на стіні Колізею, планується збільшити максимальну суму штрафу з 15 до 60 тисяч євро.
Міністр культури Італії Дженнаро Санджуліано виступає за ухвалення законопроєкту, аргументуючи це тим, що «атаки на пам’ятки завдають економічної шкоди», а очищення й реставрація пов’язані з великими витратами, адже потребують висококваліфікованих фахівців та дорогого обладнання.
«Той, хто так вчиняє, повинен нести фінансову відповідальність», – наголосив урядовець.

В Японії 17-річний турист із Канади вчинив акт вандалізму в храмі Тосьодайдзі, розташованому в місті Нара на півдні головного острова Японії Хонсю. Він вирізав літери на дерев’яній колоні нігтем.
Як пише Newsweek, стародавній буддійський храмовий комплекс є частиною об’єкта Всесвітньої спадщини ООН з питань освіти, науки і культури (ЮНЕСКО), відомого як пам’ятники стародавньої Нари, які розташовані в сучасному місті.
Цей об’єкт ЮНЕСКО включає вісім частин: п’ять буддистських храмових комплексів, включаючи Тосьодайдзі; археологічні розкопки палацу Нара; Синтоїстський храм та первісний ліс Касугаяма. Ці стародавні місця проливають світло на критичний період культурного та політичного розвитку Японії, коли, за даними ЮНЕСКО, Нара була столицею з 710 по 784 рік.
„У цей період структура національного уряду була укріплена, і Нара процвітала, ставши джерелом японської культури”, – йдеться в описі ЮНЕСКО цього об’єкта спадщини.
Колона, на якій турист вирізав слово „Юліан” є частиною „Золотого залу” храму, який вважається класичним зразком ранньої японської буддійської архітектури і визнаний національним надбанням. Колони підтримують дах будівлі.
Японський турист, який у той час також відвідував це місце, побачив, як хлопчик псує колону, і попередив персонал храму. Пізніше підлітка допитали за підозрою в порушенні японського закону про захист культурних цінностей.
„Хлопчик визнав свій вчинок і сказав, що це було зроблено не з наміром завдати шкоди японській культурі. Зараз він зі своїми батьками, які були з ним під час інциденту”, – сказав представник поліції.
„Ми стурбовані тим, що таке може статися знову. Навіть якщо це було зроблено без злого наміру, це все одно прикро і сумно”, – сказав чернець у храмі.
Зазначається, що в 2015 році кілька японських храмів і святинь в шести префектурах, в тому числі в Нарі, зазнали вандалізму в результаті серії подібних інцидентів. У багатьох випадках цілями були об’єкти Всесвітньої спадщини ЮНЕСКО та національні пам’ятки. Було виявлено, що будівлі в постраждалих місцях були залиті маслоподобною рідиною.

Поки що незрозуміло, чи займаються цією справою правоохоронні органи.
На цьому газоні заплановано вечірку з нагоди коронації нового монарха.

The Royal Crescent у Баті є суцільним рядом із 30 будинків, що утворюють сегмент у формі півмісяця.
Він був спроєктований архітектором Джоном Вудом — молодшим і збудований у період з 1767 по 1774 рік. Наразі будинки у „Королівському півмісяці” мають різних власників — більшість перебуває у приватній власності, але значна кількість будівель належить житловій асоціації. У ніч проти понеділка У столиці Сербії невідомі вчинили акт вандалізму проти муралу, який присвячений українській письменниці, поетесі та перекладачці Лесі Українці. Мурал розмалювали літерами Z і гаслами про „нацизм”.
Про це повідомила сербська культурна спілка „Крокодил”, що опікується муралом.
За її словами, мурал із Лесею Українкою частково замалювали трьома літерами Z, які Росія використовує як символ агресії проти України, а також написами сербською: „Це Сербія!”, „Тут такому не місце!” і „Тут нацизму немає”.
Спілка підкреслює „неправдоподібний” характер цих написів, оскільки Леся Українка – визнана в Європі поетеса й письменниця кінця ХІХ – початку ХХ століття, яка „була політичною активісткою та феміністкою, збирачкою народної творчості, високоосвіченою поліглоткою”, що не має стосунку до нацизму.
„Крокодил” закликав владу Сербії відреагувати на „акт вандалізму, який поширює ненависницькі й праворадикальні сигнали та непрямим чином загрожує безпеці громадян”.
Мурал Лесі Українці в Белграді з’явився не пізніше початку жовтня 2022 року. Його створення оплатила спілка „Крокодил” у межах проєкту зі створення муралів і графіті для протидії мові ненависті, автор побажав залишитись невідомим.

В останні дні Адвенту хулігани вчинили акти вандалізму в церкві Сент-Анн д’Арвор у Лоріані, Франція.
© Brice GOURONNEC – France Télévisions Згідно з даними місцевої преси, парафіяльний священник та віряни в Лоріані були шоковані й засмучені, коли дізналися, що 22 грудня їхня церква стала жертвою вандалів: статуї та вертеп були розбиті й розкидані по тротуару.

Парафіяльний священник отець Ерве Ле Берр поділився, що йому сумно бачити церкву в такому стані за два дні до Різдва. За його словами, мародери не пограбували храм, вандалізм був спрямований саме проти релігійних символів.

Нині чимало місцевих вірян об’єдналися, щоб упорядкувати свій храм і гідно відсвяткувати різдвяну месу.
Навіть після цього я впевнений, що різдвяна меса буде прекрасною, підкреслив отець Ерве Ле Бер.
Поліція почала розслідування справи.

У п’ятницю після того, як зловмисники намалювали свастику та інші нацистські символи на знаках меморіалу на місці колишнього концтабору «Бухенвальд», правоохоронці відкрили провадження й почали розслідування.
Інцидент стався в четвер увечері. Вандали пошкодили два дорожні знаки і табло з картою меморіалу. Невдовзі поліція забрала їх з місця події.
Фонд пам’яті «Бухенвальд – Дора-Міттельбау», який керує меморіалом, назвав подію «відразливим нападом», що ображає гідність жертв і роботу фонду, повідомляє DW.
Концтабір «Бухенвальд» був створений у 1937 році. До 1945-го в ньому побувало близько 250 тисяч осіб різних національностей, з них понад 56 тисяч загинуло. У «Бухенвальді» утримувалися противники нацистського режиму, євреї, релігійні діячі, а після початку Другої світової війни ще й військовополонені. В’язнів змушували працювати переважно на прилеглих оборонних підприємствах.

Воскова фігура британського монарха, виставлена в паноптикумі музею мадам Тюссо в Лондоні, не змогла уникнути гніву агресивного руху зелених. Двоє молодих людей кинули шоколадний торт на голову воскової фігури Чарльза III, а потім у короткій маніфестації вимагали припинення інвестицій у нафтову та газову промисловість у розпал енергетичної кризи.
Учасники анархістської групи Just Stop Oil кинули й розмазали шоколадний торт на обличчі воскової статуї Чарльза ІІІ в паноптикумі мадам Тюссо в Лондоні.
Зловмисниками стали 20-річна художниця Ейлід Макфадден і 29-річний декоратор Том Джонсон, які у такий спосіб вимагали від Великобританії відмовитися від використання викопного палива та приділити більше уваги екологічній політиці.
Обох їх затримала поліція, яка прибула на місце події. У зв’язку з інцидентом поліція висунула підозру чотирьом особам у вандалізмі. Екозахисна організація Just Stop Oil виступила із заявою, в якій взяла на себе відповідальність за вчинок.
На початку жовтня Just Stop Oil розпочав серію операцій, під час яких активісти щодня намагаються паралізувати чи уповільнити повсякденне життя Лондона. Вони протестують проти планів британського уряду видавати нові ліцензії на видобуток сирої нафти та газу, щоб зменшити ризики енергопостачання.
Нещодавно картину Вінсента Ван Гога «Соняшники» в Британській національній галереї облили томатним супом, а фасад дилерського центру Aston Martin зіпсували фарбою з балончика.
У неділю інша екологічна група, організація під назвою Last Generation, провела подібну акцію в музеї в Потсдамі, Німеччина. Тоді картину Клода Моне «Стоги сіна» покрили картопляним пюре.

У музеї в німецькому Потсдамі двоє активістів облили картопляним пюре картину «Стіжки сіна» Клода Моне, щоб привернути увагу до змін клімату.
Про акцію протесту повідомили в соцмережах руху Letzte Generation («Останнє покоління»).
«Якщо для того, щоб змусити суспільство пам’ятати, що використання викопного палива вбиває всіх нас, знадобиться картина з картопляним пюре чи томатним супом, то ми дамо вам пюре на картині», — написали активісти.
Акція протесту відбулася 23 жовтня у музеї Барберіні в Потсдамі. Двоє активістів увійшли до музею та облили картину Моне картопляним пюре, а потім — приклеїли руки до стіни.
Протестувальники зазначили, що влаштували таку акцію у відповідь на кліматичну катастрофу.
«Ми живемо у кліматичній катастрофі. І все, чого ви боїтеся, це томатний суп чи картопляне пюре на картині. Знаєте, чого я боюся? Я боюся того, що наука говорить нам, що ми не зможемо прогодувати наші сім’ї у 2050 році», — сказав учасник акції.
Активісти наголосили, що картина Моне нічого не буде варта, якщо в майбутньому людям «доведеться сваритися через їжу».
Представник музею сказав, що картина не постраждала: вона була захищена склом. Поліція швидко приїхала на місце й затримала протестувальників, пише The Guardian.
«Останнє покоління» активно долучається до акцій протесту щодо змін клімату. Активісти звинувачують уряд в ігноруванні всіх попереджень. Учасники групи називають себе останнім поколінням, яке може запобігти змінам клімату.
