A New York Times Dealbook szerdai konferenciáján Musk megismételte, hogy a Neuralink a már halálhoz közel álló majmokkal végzett kísérleteket. „Egyetlen majom sem pusztult el a Neuralink implantátum használata következtében. Kezdetben a beültetéshez korai implantátumainkat használtuk, hogy minimalizáljuk az egészséges majmok kockázatát. Azokat az állatokat választottuk, amelyek már közel állnak a halálhoz” – mondta Musk szeptemberben az X közösségi oldalon.
A közvélemény a Neuralink honlapján tavaly közzétett kijelentést visszhangozza, miszerint a kísérletekben olyan állatokat vontak be, amelyeknél „előfordulhat, hogy a meglévő egészségügyi állapotok miatt nem megfelelő az életminősége”.
A Neuralink jelenleg a kaliforniai Fremontban épített saját laboratóriumában végez kísérleteket. Musk paradicsomnak nevezte azokat a helyiségeket, ahol a majmok élnek. A Bloomberg BusinessWeek novemberben arról számolt be, hogy a főemlősök szobái igazán tágasak, játékokkal, játszóeszközökkel és televíziókkal.

„A delfineken végzett első állatorvosi vizsgálat nem talált jelentős sérülésre utaló jeleket. Nem tudjuk, hogy a delfinek miért vetődtek partra, és ezt gyakran nem is lehet megállapítani” – derült ki a közleményből.
Médiajelentések szerint a delfinek tetemét kedden fedezték fel a Bryans Beach-en. A távoli elhelyezkedés miatt nem volt mód arra, hogy a tetemeket eltávolítsák a partról – közölte az MCP.
A lakosságot arra kérték, hogy maradjon távol a helyszíntől, mivel a tetemek vonzhatják a cápákat, és „bűncselekménynek minősül, ha valaki hozzányúl egy elpusztult állat teteméhez, magával viszi vagy birtokolja”.
A hosszúszárnyú gömbölyűfejű delfinek partra vetődése nem ritka Tasmániában, és Ausztrália más részein is gyakran előfordul. Tavaly több mint 200 ilyen delfin pusztult el a Tasmánia nyugati részén fekvő sekély Macquarie-öbölben. Az állatok viselkedése a mai napig fejtörést okoz a szakembereknek.
A hosszúszárnyú gömbölyűfejű delfinek rendkívül szoros kötelékeket alakítanak ki egymással. Az év bizonyos időszakaiban nagy csapatokban haladnak, ami növeli a tömeges partra vetődések kockázatát.

Fülesfókák, és tengeri madarak százainak tetemére bukkantak az Oroszországhoz tartozó csendes-óceáni Szahalin szigeténél, egyelőre rejtély, mi okozhatta az állatok halálát – közölte a Bumerang környezetvédő szervezet helyi képviselete.
A Bumerang és a Friends of the Ocean Action nevű szervezet munkatársai a szigeten tett expedíciójukon találták meg – akkor még élő – fókákat, melyek közül 150 példányról háló- és kötélmaradványokat is lefejtettek. Amikor később visszatértek a helyszínre, már csak az állatok tetemeit találták ott – közölték szerdán.
A 950 kilométer hosszú szigeten más pontjain is találtak elpusztult állatokat, a fókák mellett disznódelfineket és tengeri madarakat. Helyi környezetvédő és állatorvosi hatóságok mintát vettek az állatok tetemeiről, hogy kiderítsék, mi okozta a tömeges halálozást.
Juzsno-Szahalinszk honlapján közölte, hogy a mérgezést kizárták a lehetőségek közül, elpusztult halaknak ugyanis nyomát sem látták. A Bumerang vezetője a helyi televízióban nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy vélhetően betegségről lehet szó.

Erről Ukrajna Környezetvédelmi és Természeti Erőforrások Minisztériuma számolt be a Telegramon – írja az Ukrinform.
Ruszlan Sztrilec, Ukrajna környezetvédelmi minisztere elmondta, hogy az Ukrajna Állami Felügyelőségének becslései szerint a kahovkai gát felrobbanása miatti esetleges vadállomány-veszteséget már most több mint 883 millió hrivnyára becsülik. A miniszter szerint ezek az adatok nem véglegesek.
Sztrilec megjegyezte, hogy az oroszok a szaporodás időszakában követték el a bűncselekményt. Sok állatnak még nem volt ideje megszületni, de már megfosztották az élet lehetőségétől.

Azonnal értesítették az erdőgazdaság munkatársait, akik kiérkeztek a helyszínre és megállapították, hogy az állat természetes halállal pusztult el, golyó nyomára nem bukkantak a testében.
Az Állami Határőrszolgálat arra kér mindenkit, hogy a nyomozás lezártáig ne siessenek a hamis információk terjesztésével.

Hatalmas robbanás történt egy texasi farmon, a hatóságok szerint 18 ezer tehén elpusztult – számolt be a BBC.
A Dimmit városa mellett történt robbanásban egy ember is súlyosan megsérült. A hatóságok szerint a farmon lévő egyik speciális gép valahogyan meggyújthatta a tehenek által kibocsátott metángázt, ami berobbant.
A helyi seriff a sajtónak a mentési munkálatok után azt mondta, hogy a tehenek nagy része nem a robbanásban, hanem az azt követő tűzben veszett oda. Azonban még így is akad olyan tehén, aki megúszta a robbanást és a tűzvészt is, viszont több társuk a seriff szerint annyira megsérült, hogy jó eséllyel le kell majd ölni.
Az Egyesült Államokban 2013 óta vezetik a háztartási balesetekben elhunyt szarvasmarhák számát – ez az eset pedig a statisztikai vezetésének elkezdése óta messze a legsúlyosabb.

Döglött halak milliói lepték el az ausztrál Darling folyót, a rengeteg tetem teljesen betakarta a víz felszínét.
A nagyarányú halpusztulást először péntek reggel jelentették az új-dél-walesi Menindee városában.
Az állam folyami hatósága szerint ez a Darling-Baaka folyót sújtó, folyamatos hőhullám eredménye.
A helyiek azt mondják, hogy három éve folyamatos a halpusztulás, de ez a legnagyobb amit eddig láttak.
A hőhullámok gyakoribbak, egyre intenzívebbek és tovább tartanak az ember által előidézett klímaváltozás miatt – írja a BBC.
A helyiek arra számítanak, hogy még több hal fog elpusztulni, mivel a már lebomló halak több oxigént szívnak el a vízből.
Körülbelül 500 ember él a városban, akik a folyó vizét használják mosásra, zuhanyzásra, így a szennyezett víz miatt az alapvető szükségleteik sem biztosítottak.
A folyó vize amúgy is apad, mivel mezőgazdasági és ipari területeken is felhasználják, elszívják azt. 2012-ben több milliárd dollárt költöttek arra, hogy megakadályozzák a folyó kiszáradását és egészségesebb szintre állítsák vissza.

Ezt Ivan Ruszjev, a Tuzlivszki Limani Nemzeti Természetvédelmi Park kutatási osztályának vezetője, a biológiai tudományok doktora közölte.
A delfinek elpusztulásának fő oka az, hogy az orosz hajók szonárokat használnak. Sok hadihajó manőverez a Fekete-tenger délnyugati részén, beleértve a tengeralattjárókat is, amelyek néha körülbelül 100 méter távolságra közelítik meg a partot.
„Mindezek a felszíni és tengeralattjáró hajók nagyon erős hangjelzéseket adnak, amelyek zavarták a delfineket. Minden cetféle, a bálnák és a delfinek visszhangmeghatározó „eszközt” használnak. Energiájuk csaknem 60%-át visszhangfelvételre, visszaküldésre és jel fogadására fordítják. Ukrajna, Bulgária és Románia partjainál 2500 emlős tetemét találták meg. Nemzetközi tanulmányok szerint azonban az elhullott delfinek mindössze 5%-a sodródik csak a partra.

A partra sodródott delfinek egyikét sem lehetett megmenteni, és mindegyikük vagy természetes úton pusztult el, vagy elaltatták őket − mondta Daren Grover, a bálnák mentésében segítő Project Jonah nonprofit csoport vezérigazgatója az AP hírügynökségnek.
A delfinek a Chatham-szigeteken vetődtek partra, amelyeken mintegy 600 ember él, és amelyek Új-Zéland fő szigeteitől mintegy 800 kilométerre (500 mérföldre) keletre fekszenek.
A környezetvédelmi minisztérium szerint 232 delfin pénteken a Tupuangi Beachnél, hétfőn pedig további 245 delfin a Waihere-öbölnél vetődött partra. A pusztulások két héttel azután történtek, hogy Ausztráliában mintegy 200 gömbölyűfejű delfin pusztult el, miután egy távoli tasmaniai tengerparton partra vetődtek.
„Bár ezek természetes események, mégis szomorúak és nehezek a segítők számára” − írta a környezetvédelmi minisztérium.
Grover elmondta, hogy a távoli helyszín és a cápák jelenléte miatt nem tudtak önkénteseket mozgósítani azért, hogy a delfineket visszavigyék a vízbe, ahogyan azt korábban csinálták.
„A Chatham-szigeteken annak a kockázata miatt, hogy a cápák az embereket és a delfineket is megtámadhatják, nem tudunk mentéseket végezni, ezért nem volt más megoldásunk, mint hogy elaltassuk az állatokat” − mondta Dave Lundquist, a minisztérium tengerészeti tanácsadója.

Február 24. óta jelentős számban pusztultak el delfinek Odessza megyében, melynek oka valószínűleg az oroszok által használt hidrolokátorok. A hírt az Odesszai Megyei Ügyészség közölte.
Elmondásuk szerint a hidrolokátorok által kiadott hangok negatívan hatnak az állatok egészségére.
Az állatoktól levett mintákat olaszországi és németországi laborokba is elküldik, ezenkívül Bulgáriába, Törökörszágba és Romániaába is fognak érdeklődni, hogy az országok területén nem fedeztek-e fel elpusztult delfineket a partokbál.
