Madrid példátlan árvízhelyzettel néz szembe, miután a márciusi csapadékmennyiség meghaladta az 1997-es rekordot. A hatóságok folyamatos készültségben állnak, figyelve a vízszint alakulását, hogy szükség esetén intézkedhessenek. A helyzet jelenleg stabil, de további esőzések várhatók.
A tartományi kormány kérte a lakosokat, hogy kerüljék a szükségtelen utazásokat. Nyolc folyó vízszintje emelkedett veszélyes szintre, ami közutak részleges lezárását tette szükségessé. Madrid nyolc közparkja is zárva tart.
Felfüggesztették az oktatást az egyetemeken
Az időjárás miatt hét egyetemen felfüggesztették az oktatást, a munkaügyi minisztérium pedig távmunkát javasolt. A Martinho névre keresztelt vihar a Kanári-szigetek kivételével az egész országot érinti, 12 óra alatt négyzetméterenként 60 liter csapadék is hullhat.
Ávilában az Ajada és a Chico folyók kiöntöttek, elárasztva utcákat, házakat és a bikaviadal-arénát is. Egy 40 fős diákcsoportot ki kellett menteni egy épületből, a város polgármestere vészhelyzetet hirdetett.
A rendkívüli időjárás eddig két halálos áldozatot követelt: Sevilla közelében egy házaspárt sodort el autójukkal együtt az áradás. Az előrejelzések szerint a hétvégén folytatódnak az esőzések, bár csökkenő intenzitással. Az évszakhoz képest 5-10 Celsius-fokkal alacsonyabb hőmérséklet várható.

A heves esőzések következtében kialakult áradások miatt több mint ezer embert evakuáltak, és számos iskolában szünetelt a tanítás kedden Dél-Spanyolországban, Andalúziában – írja az MTI.
A spanyol meteorológiai szolgálat (Aemet) tájékoztatása szerint a tartomány egyes részein 12 óra alatt több mint 80 milliméter eső várható.
A hatóságok 19 folyóra adták ki a legmagasabb, vörös szintű áradási riasztást a régióban.
Például, Córdobában a városon áthaladó Guadalquivir folyó közelít az áradási küszöbértékhez.
A Gaudalhorca és Campanillas folyók hajnalban már kiöntöttek medrükből, emiatt több lakóövezetet is elővigyázatosságból evakuáltak Málaga város vonzáskörzetében, valamint Cátarama településen.
Antonio Sanz, a tartomány belügyi tanácsosa Canal Sur rádiónak elmondta: a két folyó vártnál sokkal nagyobb mértékben áradt meg, a Campanillas vízszintje másfél óra alatt emelkedett meg veszélyesen.
Az érintett térségekben nyolc oktatási intézményben maradt el a tanítás.
Több mint harminc közutat lezártak a hatóságok, mert járhatatlanná vált az áradások, vagy földcsuszamlás miatt.
Szünetel a kompforgalom a spanyol Algecirast a marokkói Tangerrel összekötő útvonalon.
A Laurence nevű vihar miatt nemcsak Andalúziában, hanem Spanyolország további tíz tartományában adtak figyelmeztetést.
Az Aemet előrejelzése szerint csütörtökön egy újabb, a Martinho nevet viselő nagy hatású vihar érkezik, további esőzéseket és erős szelet okozva Spanyolországban.

Abdullah Dzsán Szajeg, a katasztrófavédelem szóvivője azt mondta, az ország legtöbb tartományában napok óta esik vagy havazik, hozzátéve, hogy országszerte 240 összeomlott és 160 részben megrongálódott házról is tudnak – számolt be az Origo.
A nyugati, Iránnal szomszédos Farah térségből 24 halottat jelentettek az áradásokkal összefüggésben és azt közölték, hogy több mint 100 hektárnyi termőföld is megsemmisült.
A déli Hilmend tartományban hatan haltak meg, a vele szomszédos Kandahárban pedig kilenc halottról, köztük három gyerekről adtak hírt.

Az amerikai Kentucky államban pusztító áradások nyolc ember életét követelték – jelentette be vasárnap Andy Beshear kormányzó, melyről az Index számolt be.
„Úgy véljük, hogy ez a szám még növekedni fog” – mondta Andy Beshear helyi kormányzó, aki bejelentette, eddig mintegy nyolcan haltak meg a Kentuckyt sújtó áradásokban. Hozzátette, hogy a halottak között van egy anya is 7 éves gyerekével.
Mint mondta, az áldozatok többsége olyan utakon ragadt autójával, amelyeket elöntött a víz. Ezért felszólította az embereket, hogy lehetőleg ne keljenek útra.
Az ítéletidő következtében több mint ezer embert vittek biztonságba a mentőszolgálatok. Donald Trump amerikai elnök pedig az állam kezdeményezésére veszélyhelyzetet hirdetett Kentuckyban, ahol háztartások tízezrei maradtak áram-, illetve ivóvíz-szolgáltatás nélkül. A Nemzeti Gárdát is bevetették.
Az Atlanta Journal Constitution helyi hatóságokra hivatkozva egy további halálesetet jelentett Georgiából.
A szombat óta tartó, viharokkal kísért heves esőzések több amerikai államot is sújtanak, így Kentucky mellett Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Virginia és Nyugat-Virginia is érintett. Tennesseeben egy gát is átszakadt, ami a helyi hatóságok szerint akár életveszélyes helyzetet is teremthet, Virginiában pedig az utakat eltorlaszoló sárlavinák akadályozták a forgalmat.

A Fülöp-szigetek északi részén áradásokat és földcsuszamlásokat idézett elő a pusztító Jinhszing tájfun, amely pénteken elhagyta a szigetországot, és a Dél-kínai-tenger felé vonult tovább. A Fülöp-szigeteki Cagayán tartományban csütörtökön landolt tájfun falvakat árasztott el, fákat és villanyoszlopokat döntött ki, házakat rongált meg – számoltak be róla a helyi hatóságok, hozzátéve, hogy az érintett falvakból több mint 40 ezer embert evakuáltak a tartomány biztonságosabb régiójába.
Marilou Cayco kormányzó közlése szerint Batanesén, az ország legészakibb szigetén a Jinhszing háztetőket tépett le, kikötőket és két belföldi repülőteret rongált meg. A hegyekben fekvő két északi városból földcsuszamlásokat is jelentettek.
Az újabb károk megnehezítik az elmúlt hetekben az északi régiót sújtó két pusztító vihar utáni helyreállítási munkákat. A Trami trópusi vihar és a Leon tájfun legkevesebb 151 ember halálát okozta a Fülöp-szigeteken és csaknem 9 millió embert érintett, elsősorban az északi és a központi tartományokban. A térség mezőgazdasága is súlyos károkat szenvedett.
Ferdinand Marcos Jr. elnök – szóvivőjének közlése szerint – nem vesz részt a jövő héten Peruban az Ázsiai-Csendes-óceáni Gazdasági Együttműködés (APEC) csúcstalálkozóján, hogy a helyreállítással foglalkozhasson.
A Marce, ahogy a helyi lakosság elnevezte a legújabb tájfunt, a Fülöp-szigeteki meteorológiai hivatal jelentése szerint óránként 150 kilométeres sebességű széllel és óránként több mint 200 kilométeres széllökésekkel száguld Vietnám irányába.

Legalább ötvenen vesztették életüket a Valencia térségét elárasztó özönvízben. Sokan eltűntek, őket hatalmas erőkkel keresik. Spanyolország déli részén járhatatlanok az utak, nincs vonatközlekedés, a helyieket arra kérik, ne menjenek az utcákra.
A legfrissebb jelentések szerint 51 ember halt meg a kedden Spanyolország déli és keleti részén lezúduló özönvízszerű esőzések következtében. Az áradat több városon söpört végig, utakat és vasútvonalakat zárt le, településrészeket tett megközelíthetetlenné – számolt be a The Guardian.
A valenciai kormány vészhelyzeti koordinációs központja közölte, hogy a rendőrségi és mentőszolgálatok által regisztrált első adatok szerint 51 az áldozatok száma, megkezdik az azonosításukat.
Valencia regionális elnöke szerda reggel mindehhez hozzátette, hogy még túl korai lenne végleges adatokat mondani a halálos áldozatok számáról. Nagy erőkkel folytatják a kutatást az eltűntek után.
A helyzetet úgy értékelte: „sokkos állapotban vagyunk”.
A regionális önkormányzat arra is felszólította a helyieket, hogy ne menjenek az elárasztott vagy elzárt utakra, egyrészt ne akadályozzák a mentőszolgálatok munkáját, másrészt lehet, hogy még több víz felgyülemlik a térségben és ez fokozottan veszélyes.
A spanyol katasztrófaelhárító egységek több mint 1000 katonáját vezényelték már a térségbe.
A spanyol televízió képei azt mutatták, hogy kedden a keleti Albacete tartományban lévő Letur városán keresztül örvénylő, iszapos víz hömpölygött, és autókat sodort magával az utcákon.
„Csapdába estünk, mint a patkányok. Autók és szemetes konténerek özönlöttek az utcákon. A víz 3 méter magasra emelkedett” – mondta a polgármester.
Spanyolország központi kormánya válságbizottságot hozott létre a mentési munkálatok koordinálására. Pedro Sánchez spanyol miniszterelnök az X-en kérte a lakosságot: legyenek nagyon óvatosak és kerüljék a felesleges utazásokat. Felipe király is felajánlotta támogatását a halottak és eltűntek családjainak.
Szerda délelőtt 10 órára az esőzések Valenciában alábbhagytak. A spanyol nemzeti meteorológiai szolgálat azonban csütörtökre további viharokat jelzett előre, eszerint az esőzések az Ibériai-félsziget északkeleti része felé vonulnak majd.
Spanyolországban az elmúlt években is voltak hasonló őszi viharok, de semmi sem hasonlítható az elmúlt két nap pusztításaihoz.
