Pert indított egyik korábbi mérnöke, Alex Khatilov ellen a Tesla; Elon Musk autógyára ipari kémkedéssel vádolja a volt alkalmazottat.
A hírek szerint a munkatárs a Tesla belső hálózatát használva a cég Warp Drive nevű szoftverével kapcsolatban akart információkat megszerezni. A szoftvert a vásárlók számára fejlesztették ki, hogy egyszerűsítsék a folyamatot.
Khatilov a vádak szerint saját Dropbox-fiókjába bejelentkezve rengeteg dokumentumot mentett le. A férfi azzal védekezett, hogy csak a személyes állományát költöztette át a fiókba, és nem tudott róla, hogy a művelet a céges fájlokra is hatással volt.
A Teslánál egyre gyakorlottabbak az ipari kémek lebuktatásában: korábban több alkalommal is fülön csíptek olyan alkalmazottakat, akik információt szivárogtattak ki, hol egy konkurens egy cégnek, hol pedig a sajtónak.
