Az indiai főváros, Újdelhi fő repülőterén heves esőzések és erős széllökések következtében beomlott a tető, aminek következtében egy ember meghalt, nyolcan megsérültek, és több repülőjáratot töröltek – közölték a helyi hatóságok pénteken.
Az Indira Gandhi Nemzetközi Repülőtér 1-es termináljának tetőszerkezete helyi idő szerint kora reggel omlott be az indulási oldalon. A járatokat a területen délutánig leállították – közölte India légi közlekedésért felelős minisztere, Ram Mohan Naidu Kindzsarapu.
India legforgalmasabb repülőterén az érintett teljes terminált kiürítették, a balesettel kapcsolatban nyomozást indítottak – tette hozzá a miniszter. A repülőtér ezen termináljánál a belföldi járatokat irányítják.

A szélsőséges időjárás Delhi nemzeti fővárosi területén több régióban áradásokat okozott, számos autót is elmosott a magas víz.

Legalább tizenhárom ember meghalt hétfőn Kelet-Indiában azt követően, hogy egy személyvonat áruszállító szerelvénnyel ütközött Nyugat-Bengál államban – közölte a rendőrség.
Legalább 13 ember meghalt és 25-30 megsérült – derült ki a tájékoztatásból, amely szerint a gyorsvonat három vagonja kisiklott.
A kelet-indiai állam főminisztere, Mamata Banerdzsi a közösségi oldalakon közzétett üzenetében „tragikusnak” nevezte a balesetet. Azt írta, hogy, „orvosokat, mentőautókat és mentőcsapatokat küldtek a helyszínre”.
A baleset a Dardzsiling körzetben található Phanszideva településnél történt, a Kanchenjunga Expressz szaladt bele egy tehervonatba. Ashvini Vaishnav vasúti miniszter azt mondta, hogy a sérülteket kórházba szállítják.
Az indiai média által sugárzott képeken oldalukra borult kocsik kusza roncsai voltak láthatóak, az expresszvonat mozdonya felgyűrte az előtte lévő tehervagont, amely negyvenötfokos szögben bizonytalanul egyensúlyozott felette a levegőben.
Indiában, amely a világ egyik legkiterjedtebb vasúti hálózatával rendelkezik, korábban számos halálos kimenetelű tömeges vonatbalesetet történt.

Az ország történetének legsúlyosabb vasúti szerencsétlensége 1981. június 6-án volt, amikor a keleti Bihar államban egy hídon áthaladó vonat hét kocsija a Bagmati folyóba zuhant, 800-1000 ember halálát okozva.
Tavaly júniusban a keleti Odisa államban három vonat összeütközésekor mintegy 300 ember halt meg.

Egy 26 utast szállító jármű egy szurdokba zuhant Uttarakhand Rudraprayag kerületében, és legalább 14 ember meghalt. Az eset az Alakananda folyó közelében, a Rishikesh-Badrinath autópályán történt.
Ma délelőtt 11 óra körül a jármű lesodródott az útról, és körülbelül 250 métert zuhant az Alaknanda folyó partjára a Badrinath National Highway-n.
Mentőakció indult, a sérülteket kórházba szállították.
A 16 sérült közül hét embert helikopterrel szállítottak az AIIMS Rishikesh-be, kilencet pedig a Rudraprayag kerületi kórházba. A Rudraprayag SP Vishakha Ashok Bhadane szerint néhány sérült állapota kritikus.
Pushkar Singh Dhami főminiszter sajnálatát fejezte ki a baleset miatt, és azt mondta, hogy a kerületi bírót utasították az eset kivizsgálására.
„Imádkozom Istenhez, hogy adjon helyet az elhunytak lelkének lábainál, és adjon erőt a gyászoló családnak, hogy elviseljék ezt a hatalmas fájdalmat. Kédar Babához imádkozom a sérültek mielőbbi felépüléséért” – írta hivatalos „X” bejegyzésében.
A helyi közigazgatás és az SDRF csapatai segély- és mentési műveletekben vesznek részt.
Az utasok Delhi/Ghaziabadból Chopta Tungnathba tartottak. A baleset okát még nem tisztázták.
Narendra Modi miniszterelnök fejenként 2 millió rúpia szolatiumot jelentett be az elhunyt családjának és 50 000 rúpia a sérültek számára.
Az X-en közzétett bejegyzésében bejelentette, hogy 200 000 rúpiát fizet az áldozatok családjainak és 50 000 rúpiát az áldozatok családjainak.
A baleset okait és körülményeit vizsgálják.

Legkevesebb három ember meghalt június 9-én, vasárnap egy babfeldolgozó gyárban, Delhiben, Narela ipari területén. A hírt az India Express közölte.
A rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint a tűz oka az egyik csővezetékben keletkezett gázszivárgás, ami miatt a kompresszor túlmelegedett és felrobbant.
Megjegyzik, hogy hajnali három órakor 16 tűzoltóautó érkezett a helyszínre. A tisztviselők elmondása szerint a tűzoltóknak csaknem 12 órába telt a tűz teljes eloltása.
Kilenc embert kimentettek és kórházba szállítottak, hármat holtan találtak. További hat sérültet szintén kórházba szállítottak.
A vállalkozás tulajdonosait letartóztatták, de később óvadék ellenében elengedték.

Indiában 56 ember vesztette életét és csaknem 25 ezer ember került kórházba hőguta tüneteivel március óta a több napig tartó hőhullámok következtében – jelentette kormányzati adatokra hivatkozva a helyi média hétfőn.
A legnagyobb forróság májusban sújtotta a szubkontinens lakóit. A hőmérséklet a múlt hónapban a főváros Újdelhiben és az észak-nyugati Radzsisztán államban egyes napokon meghaladta az 50 Celsius-fokot, az országos betegségellenőrzési központ pedig 46 hőség okozta haláleset és 19 189 feltételezett napszúrásos esetet regisztrált országszerte.
A The Hindu című helyi lap szerint a hőhullámok következtében március óta elhunytak száma Indiában ennél jóval magasabb lehet 56-nál, és akár a 80-at is elérheti.
A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint az északi Uttar Prades és Bihár, valamint a keleti Odisa államban pénteken legalább 33 ember – köztük az indiai parlamenti választásokon szolgálatot teljesítő tisztviselők – vesztette életét a hőség miatt. Egyedül Madhja Prades államban több mint ötezer embert ápolnak hőgutára utaló tünetekkel.
Kelet-Indiában ugyanakkor Remal ciklon okozott jelentős pusztítást. Asszamban múlt kedd óta 14 ember halt meg a heves esőzések okozta áradások következtében, míg a szomszédos Bangladesben több tucat halálos áldozatot követelt az extrém időjárás.
Srí Lankán, az Indiától délre fekvő szigetországban legkevesebb 15 ember vesztette életét a heves monszunesők okozta áradások és földcsuszamlások miatt.
Az előrejelzések szerint szerdáig csillapodni fog a hőség Indiában, a déli Kerala államot a múlt héten elérő monszun pedig várhatóan további enyhülést hoz.
Ázsiában több milliárd embert érintenek a rendkívüli hőhullámok, amelyeket a tudósok szerint az emberi tevékenység okozta klímaváltozás hatásai is fokoznak.

Az elmúlt 24 órában legkevesebb 15 ember vesztette életét India keleti államaiban, Biharban és Oriszában, ahol rendkívüli hőhullám tombol. A helyi hatóságok szerint a hőhullám várhatóan szombatig folytatódik.
Delhiben, az ország fővárosában a héten 52,9 fokos hőmérsékletet mértek, ami országos rekord. A meteorológiai szolgálat azonban jelezte, hogy a rekordmeleget jelző hőmérőt ellenőrizni fogják, és lehetséges, hogy ezt követően az értéket módosítják.
Miközben India középső és északnyugati részén az előrejelzés szerint a következő napokban csillapodik a hőség, az ország keleti felében még legalább két napig tart majd – közölte az Indiai Meteorológiai Hivatal, amely akkor jelent be hőhullámot, ha a hőmérséklet a megszokottnál 4,5–6,4 Celsius-fokkal magasabb.
A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint az extrém hőség miatt csütörtökön 15 halálesetet jelentettek.
Az oriszai Rourkela egy kórházából tíz halálos áldozatról számoltak be, a bihari Aurangabadban pedig öt ember halt meg napszúrás következtében. Egy aurangabadi illetékes hozzáfűzte, hogy csütörtökön további hét ember a kórházba tartva halt meg, de őket nem sorolták a hőség áldozatai közé, mert a halottkémi vizsgálatot követően derül ki, hogy pontosan mi okozta a halálukat.
Az oriszai kormány az alkalmazottai számára megtiltotta a szabadban végzett tevékenységeket a legnagyobb hőség idején, délelőtt 11 és délután 3 óra között. Pénteken Delhiben ismét 43 fokos hőség lehet az előrejelzés szerint. A város eközben vízhiánnyal is küzd.

A Remal nevű ciklon mostanra átvonult a partokon, és fokozatosan gyengül – közölte hétfőn a bangladesi meteorológiai hivatal.
Az óránként akár 120 kilométeres széllel érkező ciklon miatt számos tengerparti körzetben megszűnt az áramszolgáltatás. A helyi média beszámolói szerint sok nádfedeles ház megrongálódott, fák és villanyoszlopok dőltek ki.

Legalább huszonnégyen meghaltak egy fedett szórakoztató-központban kiütött tűzben Indiában szombaton, közöttük kilenc gyerek – számolt be az indiai ANI hírügynökség rendőrségi forrásokat idézve.
A tűz a Gudzsarát állambeli Rajkot városában délután ütött ki, és jelenleg ellenőrzés alatt áll. A mentési munkálatok még tartanak. A tűz oka egyelőre tisztázatlan. A szórakoztató-központban gokart- és bowlingpálya is helyet kapott. Tulajdonosa ellen gondatlanság miatt nyomoznak.
Rajkot polgármestere, Nayana Pedhadiya a Reuters hírügynökséget arról tájékoztatta, hogy a halálos áldozatok száma várhatóan még emelkedni fog. A helyi polgári kórház rendőrségi szóvivője szerint a holttestek egy része a felismerhetetlenségig elszenesedett.
A televíziós felvételek tanúsága szerint hatalmas tűz ütött ki a TRP szórakoztató-központban, és sűrű füstfelhők gomolyognak a helyszínen. A tűzben az egész épület kiégett. A kerület tűzoltóparancsnoka szerint már urai a helyzetnek, ellenőrzésük alá vonták a lángokat. Már az áldozatok után kutatnak.
„A tűz okát még nem sikerült megállapítani” – mondta a Reuters hírügynökségnek. Narendra Modi miniszterelnök az X közösségi platformon azt írta, a helyi közigazgatás azon dolgozik, hogy minden segítséget megadjon az érintetteknek. „Rendkívül megrázó a Rajkotban történt tűzeset. Gondolataim mindazokkal vannak, akik elvesztették szeretteiket” – írta a posztban Modi.
