Кокаїн було вилучено з балкера MV Matthew, захопленого під час військової операції біля узбережжя Корка, наразі він проходить обшук і судово-медичну експертизу.
25 членів екіпажу перебувають під слідством, ще троє знаходяться під вартою.
Помічник комісара Джастін Келлі сказав, що наркотики прибули від південноамериканських кокаїнових картелів. За його словами, низка організованих злочинних груп в Ірландії, Великобританії та Європі, які мають прямі зв’язки з Південною Америкою, об’єдналися, щоб отримати наркотики.
Своєю чергою командувач флоту військово-морської служби Ірландії назвав захоплення човна надзвичайно складною військовою операцією, оскільки затримання судна було ускладнене поганою погодою та спробою передбачити дії злочинних угруповань.

Поліція Північної Ірландії випадково розкрила дані 10 тисяч своїх співробітників, коли відповідала на запит.
Про це повідомляє BBC, пише „Європейська правда”.
Помилка сталася під час того, як Служба поліції Північної Ірландії відповідала на запит щодо інформації про чисельність співробітників з певним званням і посадою.
Разом із таблицею з цифрами той, хто надсилав відповідь, прикріпив також іншу – з прізвищами й ініціалами та іншими даними усіх співробітників, починаючи від головного констебля Саймона Бірні. Приватних адрес там не було. Деталі були опубліковані онлайн майже дві години, перш ніж їх видалили.
У керівництві поліції назвали помилку неприйнятною та визнали, що це небезпечно в умовах, коли у Північній Ірландії висока терористична загроза.
Коментатори називають інцидент найгіршим витоком даних в історії організації за останні 22 роки.

На півночі Ірландії поліція продовжує пошуки на березі після того, як туди винесло щонайменш два велетенських пакунки з контрабандним кокаїном.
Про це повідомляє Sky News, пише „Європейська правда”.
У поліції повідомили, що знайдені на узбережжі північного графства Донегал пакунки важать близько 60 кг.
Подальша експертиза має підтвердити вміст, але за попередніми висновками це кокаїн орієнтовною вартістю 4 млн євро.
Місцеві мешканці невдовзі після перших новин помітили групи молодих людей, які прочісували берег з факелами. Молоді люди заявили, що намагаються лише допомогти поліції з пошуками.
Слідчі закликали місцевих власників землі та будь-яких осіб, що бувають на узбережжі, негайно повідомити про знайдені пакунки чи уламки, винесені морем на берег.

В місті Ома в Північній Ірландії невідомі поранили поліцейського з вогнепальної зброї. Правоохоронця доставили до лікарні у важкому стані.
Згідно з офіційною інформацією, поліцейський, котрий в той день не був на службі й на якого вчинили напад біля спортивного закладу, перебуває в критичному, але стабільному стані в лікарні Лондондеррі, на північ від Ома, повідомляє BBC. За даними видання, в поліцейського влучили кілька разів.
Це перший збройний напад на поліцейського в Північній Ірландії із січня 2017 року.
Особи злочинців та їхні мотиви поки невідомі. За даними ВВС жертва – старший детектив поліції Північної Ірландії (PSNI), який брав участь у розслідуванні нападів груп, які відокремилися від основного антибританського республіканського руху в Північній Ірландії.
Поліцейський також брав участь у розслідуванні вбивств, скоєних організованими злочинними групами.
Напад засудили лідери всіх найбільших антибританських католицьких і пробританських протестантських партій.

В місті Ома сталося найкривавіше вбивство конфлікту в Північній Ірландії.
Терористичну атаку в серпні 1998 року здійснило фанатичне антибританське угруповання, яке називало себе «Справжньою ІРА», і члени якої були в основному набрані з лав колишнього найбільшого католицького ополчення в Північній Ірландії, Ірландської республіканської армії (ІРА). Вибуховий пристрій, захований в автомобілі, вбив 29 людей, у тому числі дев’ятеро дітей і вагітну жінку, яка була вагітна двійнею. В результаті вибуху постраждали 220 осіб.
В результаті процесу врегулювання ситуації в Північній Ірландії, ІРА відмовилася від збройних дій понад чверть століття тому, роззброїлася та фактично припинила свою діяльність.

Ірландська комісія із захисту даних оголосила про накладення штрафу в розмірі 265 млн євро та інших коригувальних заходів на компанію Meta за нездатність належним чином захистити свої дані.
Про це повідомляє Politico.
Штраф призначено за витік даних, виявлений у 2021 році. Особисті дані єврокомісара з питань юстиції Дідьє Рейндерса, прем’єр-міністра Люксембургу Ксав’є Беттеля та десятків посадовців ЄС були включені до витоку 533 млн записів, включно з номерами телефонів, ідентифікаторами Facebook, повними іменами та датами народження, які з’явилися на загальнодоступному форумі.
Ірландська комісія із захисту даних, яка контролює Meta, стверджувала, що технічний гігант США не дотримався зобов’язань генерального захисту даних щодо забезпечення конфіденційності „за задумом і за замовчуванням”, тобто він розробив свої продукти таким чином, що можливий витік персональних даних.
Окрім штрафу, орган влади наклав догану та наказав „привести обробку даних Meta у відповідність із застосуванням низки визначених заходів усунення протягом певного періоду часу”.
Facebook ще може оскаржити це рішення в ірландських судах. У ньому заявили, що „уважно розглядають це рішення”.
Очікується, що Ірландська комісія із захисту даних незабаром також оголосить про три інших рішення проти компаній Meta.

Унаслідок вибуху на автозаправній станції на околиці села Кріслох в Ірландії загинули семеро людей, також повідомляється про велику кількість поранених.
Про це повідомляє „Європейська правда” з посиланням на The Irish Times.
Речниця поліції Ірландії зазначила, що вісьмох людей було ушпиталено з місці аварії, а пошукові роботи тривають, тож кількість постраждалих може збільшитися.
Вибух на АЗС неподалік Кріслоха стався по обіді в п’ятницю. Унаслідок вибуху було повністю зруйновано станцію і пошкоджено частину житлового будинку за нею. Вибуховою хвилею також тріснуло вікна в сусідніх будівлях.
Окрім АЗС, у будівлі, де стався вибух, були розташовані крамниця, перукарня та інші підприємства.
Дороги до Кріслоха на час обстеження завалів перекрили, а місцевий готель перестав приймати бронювання, щоб розмістити в себе надзвичайників.
Прем’єр-міністр Ірландії Міхол Мартін висловив співчуття жителям Кріслоха й родичам загиблих і поранених.
Причину вибуху поки не називають.

В ірландському місті Клеркасл скоєно напад на 8-річну українську дівчинку, якій завдали понад 70 ножових поранень у місці проживання для біженців.
Про це пише The Irish Independent.
Матір та доньку було знайдено пораненими у їхньому помешканні, де проживають українські біженці у Клеркаслі, близько 8-ї години ранку 27 вересня.
У будинку, який нещодавно був відремонтований, проживає до 15 українців. Мешканці будинку почули шум і намагалися потрапити до кімнати, але не змогли цього зробити.
Один з мешканців вийшов на вулицю і подивився у вікно, через яке побачив важко поранену дитину.
Пізніше стало відомо, що дівчинка отримала 74 ножових поранення. Вона перебуває в лікарні міста Лімерик у критичному стані. У вівторок ввечері дитині була проведена невідкладна операція в, її стан оцінюється як важкий, але стабільний.
Мати дівчинки, яку було знайдено непритомною на місці події, залишається у важкому стані в тій же лікарні, але очікується, що вона виживе.
Повідомляється, що поліція вже встановила особу підозрюваного, але жодних арештів не проводилося. Мешканці будинку, в тому числі кілька дітей, були переведені до іншого житла.
В рамках розслідування поліцейські встановили пересування матері та дитини протягом 48 годин, що передували нападу. Поліція також намагається відстежити, з ким вони могли спілкуватися.
Відомо, що дівчинка почала відвідувати місцеву початкову школу кілька тижнів тому.

Поліція Ірландії в четвер конфіскувала партію кокаїну вартістю 8,4 мільйона євро, а також легкомоторний літак Cessna, на якому наркотики перевозили двоє зловмисників віком 54 і 40 років.

Зазначається, що правоохоронці у четвер увечері зупинили два підозрілі автомобілі в графстві Вестміт. Під час подальших обшуків у водіїв знайшли близько 120 кілограмів кокаїну, а подальше розслідування привело до легкомоторного літака, яким наркотики, ймовірно, ввозились.
Двох чоловіків затримали за підозрою у збуті наркотиків. Ірландські правоохоронці припускають, що кокаїн мав бути ввезений до Північної Ірландії.
Як розповів BBC детектив поліції Ірландії Шеймус Боланд, такі випадки не є поодинокими: у лютому у графстві Вотерфорд теж було конфісковано легкомоторний літак у межах розслідування наркотрафіку.
„Це сталося після конфіскації великої партії наркотиків у Великій Британії, коли літак пролетів і приземлився тут, в Ірландії. Це не нова річ для організованої злочинності – це те, що відбувається в решті Європи”, – додав Боланд.
