Csütörtökre virradóan hajnali fél háromkor érkezett bejelentés a tűzoltószolgálathoz arról, hogy a Sztepan Gyolog utcában, a parkolóban ég egy 2011-es évjáratú Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 típusú személygépkocsi.
A veszély elhárítására a város két tűzoltó-mentőosztályának tűzoltóit vezényelték ki a hívás helyszínére. Mire a tűzoltók kiérkeztek, a lángok átterjedtek a szomszédos autóra, egy 2012-es Buick Verano típusú autóra. Ennek ellenére a tüzet alig három perc alatt sikerült eloltani. A tűzben a Mercedes-Benz személygépkocsi megsemmisült, a másik jármű megrongálódott. A tűzoltók azonban megakadályozták a pusztulását.
A megyei rendőrség szóvivője, Hanna Dan arról számolt be, hogy a megsemmisült autó egy helyi üzletasszonyé. A tüzet valószínűleg gyújtogatás okozta. Büntetőeljárás indult a Büntető törvénykönyv 194. cikkének 2. része alapján. A gyújtogatással gyanúsított felkutatására irányuló operatív intézkedések folyamatban vannak.

Május 29-én bejelentés érkezett a tűzoltósághoz, miszerint a Borkanyuk utcán kigyulladt egy gépkocsi. A járművezető parkolás után vette észre a motorháztető alól kiáramló füstöt és azonnal értesítette a tűzoltókat.
A DSZNSZ munkatársai azonnal a helyszínre érkeztek, s három perc alatt eloltották a motortérben keletkezett tüzet. Az eset során senki nem sérült meg, a kárfelméréssel az illetékes szolgálatok foglalkoznak.
A hírt a Rendkívüli Helyzetek Állami Szolgálatának kárpátaljai kirendeltsége közölte.

A tulajdonos elmondta, hogy hazaérkezett, leparkolt a kapu előtt és fél óra múlva az ablakból vette észre, hogy a gépkocsi lángol. A helyszínre kiérkezett a técsői tűzoltóság, akik viszonylag rövid időn belül megfékezték a lángokat. A tűz a motortérben és a szalonban tett károkat.

A történteknek nincs sérültje, a tűz kitörésének okát vizsgálják.

Az elmúlt hétvégén a tűzoltósághoz kétszer is érkezett bejelentés, miszerint járművek gyulladtak ki megyénk területén.
Az első eset Husztközön történt, a Nissan Quashqai sofőrje elment gombázni, az erdő szélén hagyta járművét, s egyszer csak azt vette észre, hogy a gépkocsit felölelték a lángok. A másik jármű Felsődomonyán gyulladt ki, az információk szerint a vezetékek meghibásodása okozta a tüzet.
A helyszínre kiérkezett a tűzoltóság, az esetek pontos körülményeit még vizsgálják.
