Gavin Newsom kormányzó a hétfőre várt újabb viharzóna előtti tájékoztatóján arra kérte az embereket, hogy maradjanak otthonukban. Az állam fővárosa, Sacramento közelében, Wilton városban a korábbi esők nyomán kialakult árvíz miatt kötelező kitelepítés van érvényben. A hatóságok arra kérték az embereket, hogy addig tegyenek eleget az utasításnak, amíg járhatók az utak.
San Francisco térségében mintegy 13 ezer embert figyelmeztettek arra, hogy árvíz miatt otthonuk elhagyására kényszerülhetnek. Kalifornia közlekedési minisztériuma arra kérte az autósokot, hogy kerüljék el a magasabban fekvő hegyvidéki utakat, miután lezártak egyes útszakaszokat, amelyeket jég és hó tett veszélyessé.
Kalifornia déli részének egyes településein múlt héten kellett kötelező kitelepítést elrendelni a hirtelen lezúduló nagy esők okozta áradásveszély miatt.
Los Angeles környékén hétfőre várnak újabb komoly esőzést, a csapadék egyes részeken elérheti a 200 millimétert.
Az óránként 151 kilométer feletti széllökések villanyvezetékeket szakítottak le, illetve sok helyütt kidőlő fák tépték le a vezetékeket, aminek nyomán százezreknél szünetelt az áramszolgáltatás. Sacramentóban hétfő reggel 36 ezer háztartás volt áram nélkül, vasárnap ez a szám még 350 ezer volt.
A kormányzó kérésére Joe Biden elnök még vasárnap este veszélyhelyzetet hirdetett ki Kaliforniában, ami szövetségi pénzügyi forrásokat tesz elérhetővé az állam hatóságai számára a védekezéshez és károk elhárításához.
Gavin Newsom kormányzó közölte, hogy az elmúlt 10 napban a viharok 12 halálos áldozatot követeltek Kaliforniában. A kormányzó saját hatáskörben már múlt szerdán vészhelyzetet hirdetett, és az állami katasztrófaelhárítás egységeit is a legmagasabb készültségbe helyezte. A meteorológusok az elmúlt évek legkomolyabb viharáról beszélnek.
San Francisco körzetében december 26-a óta 250 milliméter esőt regisztráltak, megdőlt a napi csapadékrekord is. Az állam hegyvidéki keleti részén, a Sierra Nevada hegységben rég nem látott mennyiségű hó hullott, a Keleti-Sierrában az elmúlt két hétben 3 méternyi hó esett.
Állami tisztségviselők még múlt kedden arról számoltak be, hogy a Sierra Nevada hegységben lehullott hó vastagsága rendkívül kedvező, az év elején szokásos átlagos mennyiség 174 százaléka borítja a hegységet. Kalifornia éves vízszükségletének mintegy harmadát biztosítja a hegységben telente lehulló hó. Kalifornia éves óta súlyos szárazsággal küzd, amelyet a mostani esős időszak némileg mérsékel, de a meteorológusok szerint teljesen nem szünteti meg.

„A luhanszki régióban kialakult súlyos humanitárius helyzet miatt a megszállók Kreminna, Szeverodoneck és Rubizsne településekről a civil lakosság teljes evakuálását tervezik az ideiglenesen megszállt területek mélyére” – írta esti jelentésében a kijevi katonai vezetés.
A vezérkar arról is beszámolt, hogy a Donyeck megyei Mariupolban az orosz hatóságok bővítik a propagandát sugárzó adások hatósugarát és műsoridejét. „A rendelkezésre álló információk szerint a megszállók elindítják a Mariupol-24 tévécsatornát. A tervek szerint egy hónapon belül bevezetik az éjjel-nappali adást” – számolt be a vezérkar.
Az orosz erők munkaidőben csapást mértek az északkelet-ukrajnai Szumi megye közelebbről nem megnevezett egyik létfontosságú infrastrukturális objektumára, a támadásban legalább három civil dolgozó megsebesült – közölte Dmitro Zsivickij, a régió kormányzója.
Szavai szerint a vállalat területén 19 robbanás történt, miközben a munkások ott dolgoztak.
Az Ukrán Biztonsági Szolgálat (SZBU) sajtószolgálatán keresztül arról adott hírt, hogy munkatársai elfogtak Herszonban egy civilruhás orosz katonát.
A férfi helyi lakosnak adta ki magát, az SZBU tisztjeivel folytatott beszélgetés során azonban bevallotta, hogy az orosz fegyveres erők 69. különálló dandárjának hivatásos katonája. A különleges szolgálat azt is megállapította, hogy az orosz megszállás alól felszabadult Herszonban információgyűjtés, az ukrán fegyveres erők elleni tűztámadások korrigálása és szabotázsakciók végrehajtása volt a feladata.

Erdőtűz miatt több ezer embert kellett kitelepíteni Kaliforniában, ahol egy fűrészmalom is kigyulladt. A tűzoltók Kalifornia déli részén mintegy 5200 hektáron oltották a lángokat az erdő- és bozóttüzek miatt.
A tűz több lakást is elpusztított az Egyesült Államok legnépesebb tagállamának északi részén, Weed városában és környékén. A kaliforniai tűzoltóság szóvivője közölte: a kimentettek közül több embert kórházba kellett vinni.
A forró, száraz és szeles időben gyorsan terjedő erdőtüzek mellett Weed városban tisztázatlan körülmények között kigyulladt egy fűrészmalom is. A lángok a hétvégén más települések felé is tovább terjedtek. A tűzoltók Kalifornia déli részén mintegy 5200 hektáron végeztek szolgálatot az erdő- és bozóttüzek miatt.
Az Egyesült Államok északnyugati részén a hétvégére újabb hőségriasztást adtak ki. A hőmérséklet megközelíti a 40 Celsius-fokot, több mint 10 Celsius-fokkal meghaladva az ilyenkor szokásosat Kalifornia, Utah és Idaho államban is.

La Palma szigetén újabb kitelepítéseket rendeltek a vulkánkitörés miatt, ezúttal 416 embernek kellett elhagynia otthonát – közölték a spanyol hatóságok csütörtökön.
Az evakuálást még előző éjjel rendelték el Tazacorte és Los Llanos de Aridane települések egyes részein, miután a két lávafolyam egyesült és irányt változtatott. A döntést elővigyázatosságból hozták meg, de még bíznak abban, hogy végül a forró olvadék nem éri el ezeket a területeket.
Az újabb kitelepítésekkel meghaladja a 7500-at azok száma, akiket a természeti katasztrófa miatt az elmúlt egy hónap során evakuáltak. Az Európai Unió Kopernikusz elnevezésű Föld-megfigyelési programjának legfrissebb műholdas mérései szerint a Cumbre Vieja vulkán kitörése nyomán a láva 866 hektárnyi területet borított be és 2185 épületet semmisített meg.
A spanyol földrajzi intézet múlt éjjel több mint ötven földrengést mért a tűzhányó déli oldalán, a legerősebb 4,3-es volt a Richter-skálán és 37 kilométeres mélységben következett be, így károkat a felszínen nem okozott.

A tádzsik fél június 4-én éjjel, annak ellenére, hogy korábban megegyeztek az államhatár kijelöléséről, egy konténert helyezett el a határszakasz egy egyeztetett szakaszára az Os megyei Unzsu-Bulak település környékén, ezzel 1000 méter mélyen behatolt Kirgizisztán területére.

Több mint egymillió embert kellett kitelepíteni a koronavírus-járvány sújtotta Indiában kedden a Jaasz ciklon miatt, amely az ázsiai ország keleti partjai felé tart. A jelenleg a Bengáli-öböl felett pusztító Jaasz várhatóan szerda délután csap le Indiában a keleti Odisa (volt Orisza) és az északkeleti Nyugat-Bengál államokra erőteljes széllökésekkel, amelyek az óránkénti 165 kilométeres sebességet is elérhetik – tudatta az indiai meteorológiai szolgálat.
Katasztrófavédelmi tisztségviselők újságírókat arról tájékoztattak, hogy Nyugat-Bengálból már mintegy egymillió, Odisából pedig félmillió embert kellett kitelepíteni.
Kamal Lohan Misra katasztrófavédelmi tisztségviselő azt mondta, az evakuálás a koronavírus-járvány miatt fokozott kihívást jelentett.
A kitelepítetteket maszkkal, kézfertőtlenítőkkel látták el, a személyzet pedig ügyelt arra, hogy az ideiglenes szálláshelyeken betartsák a távolságtartásra vonatkozó szabályokat.
Napokkal korábban egy másik erős trópusi vihar, a Tauktae nevű ciklon tombolásakor több mint 150-en haltak meg az ország nyugati partjainál.
Legutóbb tavaly májusban söpört végig nagyobb ciklon a térségen. Az Amphan nevű trópusi vihar India keleti partjain és a szomszédos Bangladesben is nagy pusztítást okozott. Az ítéletidőben több mint százan haltak meg, és milliók maradtak áram nélkül.
Április és november között gyakran alakulnak ki ciklonok a Bengáli-öböl felett, ezek aztán romba döntött épületeket és elárasztott területeket hagynak maguk mögött, főleg a partvidékek mentén. A legpusztítóbb ciklon 1999-ben csapott le Odisára. Akkor mintegy 10 ezren haltak meg, és 15 milliónyian váltak földönfutóvá.

Vulkáni hamu és füstfelhő miatt vasárnap lezárták a Fülöp-szigetek
fővárosának repülőterét, a környékről pedig emberek tízezreit szállították
otthonaikból biztonságos helyre.
A gondot egy viszonylag kisméretű tűzhányó, a Taal okozza, amely 60
kilométerre van Manilától, és amelynek festői látványa – máskor – sok turistát
vonz. A szigetország vulkanológiai intézetének közlése szerint a Taal gőzölögve
hamut és apróbb köveket lövell ki magából 10–15 kilométeres magasságba. A
hatóság négyes fokozatúra emelte a veszélyszintet, ami azt jelenti, hogy akár
órákon belül is heves vulkánkitörés következhet be.
Egyelőre nem történt emberi sérülés, és károk sem keletkeztek. A hatóság már
eddig több tízezer lakost vitetett biztonságba, vasárnap éjjel és a következő
napokban pedig további 300 ezernek fogja evakuálni otthonát.
Ami a repülőteret illeti, vulkáni hamu borítja a pályákat és a veszteglő
repülőgépeket. Az összes kül- és belföldi járatot törölték.
