Litvániában a határőrök letartóztattak egy ukrán állampolgárt, akit azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy illegálisan szállított négy indiai migránst.
A nyilvánosságra került információk szerint az indiai állampolgárok menedékjogi kérelmet nyújtottak be Lettországban, de – ahogy az gyakran előfordul ilyen esetekben – elhagyták az országot anélkül, hogy döntés született volna a kérelmeikről.
A Renault Megan típusú járművet, amely Lettországból érkezett Litvába, a határőrök a múlt pénteken állították meg ellenőrzés céljából.
A lett rendszámú járművet egy 48 éves ukrán férfi vezette, aki ideiglenes tartózkodási engedéllyel rendelkezik Lettországban. A járműben négy férfi utazott, mindegyik indiai állampolgár. A határellenőrzés során kiderült, hogy a sofőr négy indiai állampolgárt szállított: két 22, egy 23 és egy 43 éves férfit.
Ezeknek a férfiaknak nem voltak olyan dokumentumaik, amelyek jogot adtak volna számukra a belépésre és tartózkodásra Litvániában vagy a Schengeni övezetben.
A törvények értelmében az indiai állampolgároknak nem volt joguk elhagyni Lettországot, amíg a kérelmeik elbírálása folyamatban volt.
A migránsoknak, akik Belaruszból érkeznek az EU-ba, gyakran ez a stratégiájuk: az első EU-s országban menedékjogot kérnek, majd miután elkezdődik az eljárás, megpróbálnak eljutni Nyugat-Európába. Lettország és Litvánia gyakran csak tranzitországokként szerepelnek a migránsok útvonalán.
A járművezető ismert a hatóságok előtt, mivel több mint egy évvel ezelőtt már elítélték Litvániában, hiszen megszegte az adó- és vámjogi előírásokat, és illegálisan szállított jövedéki termékeket.
A hatóságok elindították az előzetes vizsgálatot az emberek illegális határátlépésének ügyében. Az ilyen bűncselekmények esetén a törvény szerint akár nyolc év börtönbüntetés is kiszabható.

A litván bűnüldöző szervek őrizetbe vettek két spanyol állampolgárt, akik terrorcselekményt terveztek a balti állam északi részén található Šiauliai városában. Erről a litván főügyészség számolt be.
A jelentés szerint két spanyol állampolgár ez év szeptemberében érkezett Litvániába azzal a szándékkal, hogy felgyújtsák egy magáncég termelő létesítményeit, valamint a külső berendezéseket és létesítményeket.
„A gyanúsítottaknak nem sikerült végrehajtaniuk a tervet, és nem sikerült elrejtőzniük a bűnüldöző hatóságok elől” – áll a jelentésben.
A gyanúsítottak Rigában próbáltak elrejtőzni, ahol a lett állambiztonsági szolgálat őrizetbe vette őket.
„Nem sokkal ezután a gyanúsítottakat a Litvániában kiadott európai elfogatóparancs alapján Litvániába szállították. A gyanúsítottak jelenleg őrizetben vannak, az előzetes nyomozás folyamatban van” – közölte a Legfőbb Ügyészség.

A litván vámtisztviselők elkezdték aktívan használni a mobil kézi szkennereket a kalinyingrádi régióból érkező postakocsik ellenőrzésére. Ezek mind a csomagok, mind pedig a kocsik ellenőrzésére szolgálnak.
Ezzel párhuzamosan más igazolási módszereket is alkalmaznak, és a jövőben az ellenőrzés megerősítését tervezik.

Vasárnap reggel tűz ütött ki a litván védelmi minisztérium vilniusi épületében – úgy tűnik, az őrizetbe vett gyanúsított több más objektumot is felgyújtott, köztük a Legfőbb Ügyészség épületét is. A hírt az LRT közölte.
A tűzoltóság helyzeti koordinációs osztálya szerint a tűz reggel 7 óra körül keletkezett. 7 óra 12 perckor érkezett bejelentés, hogy a védelmi inisztérium épületében bekapcsolt a tűzjelzőt, s az első emeleten füstöt észleltek.
A kiérkező tűzoltók megállapították, hogy az udvar felől ég az épület fa bejárati ajtaja.
A tüzet végül 7 óra 57 perckor sikerült eloltani. Ramunas Matonis, a Rendőrkapitányság sajtótitkára bejelentette a gyanúsított letartóztatását – egy 1984-ben született litván állampolgárt, aki ittas állapotban volt.
A rendőrség később arról számolt be, hogy a gyanúsított vasárnap délelőtt több épületet is felgyújtott.
A férfi a Legfőbb Ügyészség épületének első emeletén ideiglenesen elhelyezett faszerkezeteket és fóliát gyújtott fel, aminek következtében a tető faszerkezetei megégtek. Az elkövető indítékait még vizsgálják.

Szeptember 27. és október 2. között a litván vámosok négy különböző, katonai cikkeket tartalmazó szállítmányt találtak a Kalinyingrádból Moszkvába tartó személyvonatokon – írja az Ukrajinszka Pravda.
A Kaunasi Területi Vámhivatal és a Kibartai vasútállomáson működő Bűnügyi Vámszolgálat munkatársai egy ellenőrzéskor egy Kalinyingrád–Moszkva személyvonat postakocsijában egy postai csomagot találtak, amely állítólag katonai tárgyakat, például terepszínű nadrágot tartalmazott.
A feltételezések szerint a tárgyakat az ukrajna elleni háborúban részt vevő orosz fegyveres erőknek szánták.
Megjegyezték azt is, hogy összesen öt darab terepszínű nadrágot foglaltak le az Európai Tanács rendeletének megfelelően.
Október 1-jén Kibartaiban egy Kalinyingrád felől érkező vonaton egy hasonló, öt terepszínű hálót tartalmazó szállítmányt tartóztattak fel. Két további, ugyanilyen hálót tartalmazó, az orosz hadseregnek szánt szállítmány volt ugyanazon a vonaton, amelyet a vámosok szeptember 27–29-én foglaltak le.
A vámtisztviselők arról tájékoztattak, hogy az ilyen szállítmányokat, amelyeket az Ukrajna elleni háborúban részt vevő orosz erőknek szántak, általában különböző kalinyingrádi civil szervezetek tagjai küldik.
Az elkobzott árukat a litván vámhatóságok segélyként továbbítják Ukrajnának.

Nagyszabású nyomozást folytat Litvánia a nemzetközi szankciók megsértése és csaknem kétmillió euró értékű Oroszországba irányuló csempészáru miatt. A gyanúsítottak hét magán- és négy jogi személy – számolt be Litvánia Belügyminisztériumának Pénzügyi Bűnügyi Nyomozó Szolgálata.
Egy öttagú litván állampolgárokból álló csoport az oroszok utasítására eljárva megpróbálta kijátszani a nemzetközi szankciókat, és tiltott árukat próbáltak exportálni Oroszországba.
A csoport 2022 márciusa és 2024 augusztusa között az Európai Unió országaiban vásárolta meg a meghatározott árukat, hamis névvel ellátott export-nyilatkozatok felhasználásával, és az okmányokon az alábbi célországokat feltüntette: Törökországot, Kazahsztánt, Üzbegisztánt és Fehéroroszországot. Az illegálisan exportált áruk összértéke meghaladja az 1,9 millió eurót.
A nyomozás részeként Vilniusban 18 házkutatást tartottak a gyanúsítottak házaiban, autóiban és üzlethelyiségeiben. A gyanúsítottak tevékenységéről információkat tartalmazó dokumentumokat, mobiltelefonokat, számítógépeket és szervereket foglaltak le.
A gyanúsítottak ellen vádat emeltek, vagyonukat ideiglenesen lefoglalták. Az ügyészség arra figyelmeztet, hogy a nemzetközi szankciók megsértése és a csempészet súlyos büntetésekkel, így pénzbírsággal és nyolc évig terjedő szabadságvesztéssel sújtható.
