Fegyveresek hurcoltak el több tucat embert Nigéria északnyugati Zamfara államának két településéről – közölték vasárnap helyi vezetők és lakók.
A motorokon érkezett támadók nyolc emberrel végeztek. Egy helyi elöljáró szerint hatvan embert – többségében nőket és gyerekeket – hurcoltak el.
Helyi lakosok arról számoltak be, hogy a fegyveresek először a hadsereg egyik előretolt bázisát támadták meg a vidéki Magami községnél, de a katonák visszaverték őket. Mint mondták, a fegyveresek három csoportra osztották erőiket, az egyik csapat a bázist, a másik kettő Magami és a közeli Kabasa községet támadta, ahol a halálos áldozatok voltak és az emberrablások történtek.
Az elmúlt években fegyveres bandák helyi közösségek százaira támadtak rá Nigéria északnyugati részében. A bűnszervezetek gyakorta hurcolnak el embereket váltságdíj reményében.

Iszlamisták lemészároltak 25 civilt Nigéria forrongó északkeleti Borno államában – tájékoztatott szerdán a helyi rendőrség.
A gyilkosságokat a hatóságok szerint az Iszlám Állam terrorszervezet helyi ágának (Iszlám Állam Nyugat-afrikai Tartomány, ISWAP) fegyveresei követték el két faluban, közel a csádi határhoz. Az egyik településen a szélsőségesek jószágaikat legeltető 18 pásztorral végeztek, majd egy másik településen további hét embert öltek meg.
Az egyik szemtanú arról számolt be, hogy az iszlamisták lefejezték áldozataikat, és egyetlen lövést sem adtak le, nehogy felhívják magukra a biztonsági erők figyelmét.
Nigéria északkeleti részében 2009 óta aktív a Boko Haram terrorszervezet, az erőszakcselekmények pedig fokozódtak azóta, hogy 2016-ban a szervezetről levált az ISWAP, és fokozatosan a régió legerősebb dzsihadista csoportjává vált. Hatósági összesítések szerint a két csoport összesen több mint 350 ezer embert gyilkolt meg, az erőszakcselekmények miatt pedig milliók menekültek el otthonaikból. Az emberek zöme Nigéria más részein keresett menedéket, de az ENSZ és a nigériai kormány adatai szerint sokan közülük a szomszédos országok felé vették az irányt.

A nigériai hadsereg 46 terroristával végzett az ország északi és keleti térségében az utóbbi két hétben végrehajtott műveleteiben – jelentették be nigériai hivatalos források pénteken.
A nigériai hadsereg szóvivője, Musa Danmadami közölte, 89 feltételezett terroristát vettek őrizetbe.
Emellett több százan megadták magukat a katonáknak: a Boko Haram és az Iszlám Állam terrorszervezet helyi ágának (Iszlám Állam Nyugat-afrikai Tartomány, ISWAP) 511 fegyverese, valamint családtagjaik, köztük 251 kiskorú.
A hadsereg házi készítésű fegyvereket, mobiltelefonokat, motorbicikliket és ellopott jószágokat is lefoglalt.
Nigéria északkeleti részében 2009 óta aktív a Boko Haram dzsihadista szervezet, az erőszakcselekmények pedig fokozódtak azóta, hogy 2016-ban a terrorszervezetről levált az ISWAP, és fokozatosan a régió legerősebb dzsihadista csoportjává vált.
A két csoport összesen több mint 35 ezer embert gyilkolt meg, az erőszakcselekmények miatt körülbelül 2,7 millióan menekültek el otthonaikból. Huszonkét embernek sikerült elmenekülnie, de az elkövetők további húsz embert – köztük nőket és gyerekeket – továbbra is túszként tartanak fogva.
Iszlamista terrorcsoportok és más bűnbandák rendszeresen hajtanak végre emberrablásokat is, nem ritkán diákokat is elhurcolnak. Az iszlamisták ezt azért teszik, hogy a foglyul ejtett lányokat és nőket házasságra kényszerítsék embereikkel, vagy arra, hogy öngyilkos merényletet kövessenek el, másokat pedig dolgoztatnak. A bűnszervezetek váltságdíjért rabolnak el gyerekeket.
Az idén eddig négy baptista templomot ért támadás Kaduna államban. 2021 júliusában 120 gyereket hurcoltak el a Bethel baptista iskolából, a diákok többsége hónapokig volt fogságban.

Bár a kedd este elhurcolt emberek állampolgárságát nem hozták nyilvánosságra, mindhárman az FHI 360 nevű észak-karolinai segélyszervezet munkatársai voltak.
A szervezet szóvivője, Christy Delafield sajtóközleményében aggodalmát fejezte ki az öt ember miatt, és azonnali, feltétel nélküli szabadon engedésüket sürgette, valamint kiemelte, hogy a segélymunkások fontos egészségügyi munkát végeznek a térségben.

Fegyveresek elraboltak nyolcvanöt embert, közöttük nőket és gyermekeket a nigériai Zamfara államban – közölte Abdulmalik Saidu Maibiredi, a tartományi kormányzó szóvivője szombaton.
Az elmúlt években fegyveres bandák helyi közösségek százaira támadtak rá Nigéria északnyugati részében, míg északkeleten az iszlamista szakadár fegyveresek folytatják támadásaikat. Az északnyugati Zamfara eldugott falvaiban a bűnbandák gyakorta rabolnak el embereket váltságdíj fejében, és védelmi pénzt is szednek a falusiaktól.
Helyi lakosok arról számoltak be, hogy a mostani támadás idején a nők és a gyermekek tűzifát gyűjtöttek, amikor a fegyveresek rajtuk ütöttek, és elhurcolták őket egy közeli erdőbe. Az elrabolt gyerekek többsége 12 és 17 év közötti volt.
Az eddigi tapasztalatok szerint az emberrablók gyakran hónapokig tartják fogva áldozataikat, amíg a váltságdíj meg nem érkezik.

Ismeretlen fegyveresek támadtak rá Nigéria középső részén egy falura, ahol 46 embert gyilkoltak meg – közölték pénteken helyi vezetők.
A támadást szerdán követték el a Benue állambeli Umogidiben, ahol mindennaposak az összecsapások a nomád állattenyésztők és letelepedett növénytermesztők között a földekért folytatott harcban.
Legkevesebb negyvenhat holttestet találtak a támadás után, de sokan eltűntek, és az áldozatok száma még emelkedhet – mondta az AFP francia hírügynökségnek Benue állam kormányzójának biztonsági tanácsadója.
Oayul Hemba a térségbeli állattenyésztőket okolta, akik az elmúlt hónapokban már több alkalommal is rátámadtak helyi közösségekre.
A tanácsadó elmondta, hogy katonákat küldtek a körzetbe, és azóta nyugodtabb a helyzet.
A Bola Tinubu megválasztott elnök előtt álló egyik legfontosabb feladat a vidéken tomboló erőszak lesz: egyaránt szembe kell néznie a dzsihadista lázadással az ország északi részén és a szakadár törekvésekkel a délkeleti régióban.
Az ország északnyugati és középső térségeiben az erőszak bűnözésbe torkollott, fegyveres bűnbandák rohanják le a falvakat, és rabolják el lakosok tucatjait váltságdíj fejében.

Nigéria északnyugati részén iszlamista terrorcsoportok és más bűnbandák rendszeresen hajtanak végre emberrablásokat, nem ritkán diákokat is elhurcolnak. Az iszlamisták azért teszik, hogy a foglyul ejtett lányokat és nőket házasságra kényszerítsék embereikkel, vagy arra, hogy öngyilkos merényletet kövessenek el, másokat pedig dolgoztatnak. A bűnszervezetek váltságdíjért rabolnak el gyerekeket.
