Mecsetben hajtott végre támadást egy öngyilkos merénylő az északnyugat-pakisztáni Haibár-Pahtunhva tartományban, a keddi merényletben legalább egy rendőr meghalt, a mecset nagy része romba dőlt – közölte a rendőrség.
A hatósági közlemény szerint Haibár körzeti rendőrsége azután érkezett a helyszínre, hogy bejelentést kaptak a körzetben tevékenykedő fegyveresekről, akik a bejelentő szerint a szóban forgó mecsetnél terveztek támadást elkövetni.
A rendőrség a mecset bejáratánál meg akarta állítani a robbanószerekkel felszerelt férfit, aki azonban a mecsetbe menekült, ahol aztán felrobbantotta magát.
Az épületben a rendőrség szerint nem tartózkodott senki, ellenben a robbanásban életét vesztette egy rendőr, aki az elkövető után eredt.
A helyszínre érkező mentőszolgálat megerősítette, hogy a detonáció miatt a mecset nagy része összeomlott.
A támadásért egyelőre egyetlen csoport sem vállalta a felelősséget, noha az utóbbi hónapokban az afganisztáni tálibokkal szövetséges pakisztáni tálibok (Tehrik-i-Talibán Pakisztán, TTP) több hasonló támadást is elkövettek, miután felmondták a kormánnyal kötött tűzszünetet.

Egy öngyilkos merénylő legkevesebb 13 katonát megölt, további húszat pedig megsebesített hétfőn a szomáliai főváros, Mogadishu egyik katonai akadémiáján – közölte a mogadishui katonai kórház egyik alkalmazottja. A támadás elkövetőjeként az al-Shabaab iszlamista terrorszervezet jelentkezett.
A katonák éppen felsorakoztak létszámellenőrzésre, amikor az öngyilkos merénylő felrobbantotta magát – közölte a hadsereg egyik tisztje. Hozzátette: az áldozatok Alsó-Shabelle régióból érkeztek kiképzésre a fővárosba.
A merénylet áldozatainak és sebesültjeinek száma nem végleges – közölte a mogadishui katonai kórház idézett alkalmazottja.
Az Al Shabaab közleményben közölte, hogy a merénylő 73 katonát ölt meg, 124 másikat pedig megsebesített. Áldozataik számát illetően viszont a csoport jellemzően jóval magasabb számokat közöl a hivatalosan bejelentett adatoknál.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud szomáliai államfő tavaly „totális háborút” hirdetett a mogadishui kormány ellen több mint egy évtizede fegyveres felkelést folytató, az al-Kaida terrorszervezettel kapcsolatban álló al-Shabaab ellen, amelynek célja, hogy kiűzze az Afrikai Unió békefenntartóit az országból, megdöntse a Nyugat támogatását élvező kormány hatalmát, és bevezesse az iszlám radikális értelmezésén alapuló jogrendet, a saríát az országban. Noha a kormányerők és a velük szövetséges milíciák offenzívája kiszorította az iszlamista lázadókat a déli területek nagy részéről, a fegyveresek folytatják a támadásokat.
Május végén legkevesebb 54 ugandai békefenntartót öltek meg egy Mogadishutól délre lévő katonai támaszponton, míg Baidoát, az ország egyik legnagyobb városát csaknem két hétig ostromolták. Ebben a hónapban pedig további támadások sorát hajtottak végre Mogadishuban.

A felrobbantotta magát és életét vesztette a támadó, aki robbanószerkezetet hozott működésbe szerda délután az ukrán főváros Sevcsenko Kerületi Bíróság épületében, miután a különleges rendőri egységek megrohamozták a helyszínt, két kommandós is megsebesült a detonáció következtében – közölte Ihor Klimenko belügyminiszter a Telegram-csatornáján, számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál.
A jelentés szerint Klimenko azt írta: „Az elkövető a helyszínen meghalt. Az előzetes információk szerint felrobbantotta magát.” Hozzátette: a KORD különleges egység két katonája megsebesült az épület megrohamozása során. Életüket a pajzsok mentették meg – jegyezte meg a belügyminiszter.
A Legfőbb Ügyészség ugyanakkor jelentette, hogy a vádlott őrizetből való szökési kísérletének ténye miatt előzetes vizsgálat indult. Mint jelezte, a vádlott a bíróság épületének mellékhelyiségéből próbált meg szökni. Ezt követően becsukózott az őrség helyiségébe. „Két áldozatról van információ a rendfenntartók körében. Az adatok ellenőrzése folyamatban van” – tette hozzá az ügyészség.

A terroristák robbanószerrel megrakott járműveket robbantottak fel az ország déli részén található Baardhere városának közös szomáliai–etiópiai kiképzőtábora előtt.
A halottak közül minimum heten civilek – közölte Mohammed Yusuf helyi polgármester. Hozzátette, hogy legalább húszan megsebesültek a merényletben, de a mentősök még kutatnak további áldozatok után a törmelék alatt.
Az etióp csapatok az Afrikai Unió békefenntartói missziója keretében állomásoznak Szomáliában.
