Ezeket egyebek mellett a külföldi befektetők és a rövid távú bérlésre vágyó turisták növekvő beáramlása, vagyis az egyre nagyobb Airbnb-piac táplál, ami olyan árnövekedést okoz, amely a helyi lakosokat kiszorítja a környékükről.
A munkavállalók fele tavaly kevesebb mint ezer eurót keresett havonta, miközben egy kisebb lakás bérleti díja Lisszabonban havi 1350 euró volt.
2020 és 2021 között a portugáliai ingatlanárak 157%-kal emelkedtek. Az Európai Unió statisztikai hivatala, az Eurostat szerint 2015 és 2021 között a bérleti díjak 112%-kal ugrottak meg.

Erdőtüzek pusztítanak Franciaország délnyugati Gironde régiójában, ahol több mint 12 ezer embert evakuáltak.
A hőhullámok gyakoribbá, intenzívebbé és hosszabb ideig tartóvá váltak az ember okozta éghajlatváltozás miatt. Az ipari forradalom kezdete óta a világ már mintegy 1,1 fokot melegedett, és a hőmérséklet tovább fog emelkedni, hacsak a kormányok világszerte nem csökkentik jelentősen a szén-dioxid-kibocsátást – írja a BBC.
A francia meteorológiai szolgálat vasárnapra 41 fokos hőmérsékletet jelzett előre az ország déli részein, hétfőre pedig új melegrekordokat jósolnak. Szombaton késő este az ország további 22, főként az Atlanti-óceán partvidéke mentén fekvő regionális megyét helyezett magas narancssárga riasztás alá.
Gerald Darmanin belügyminiszter elmondta, hogy a tüzek eddig 10 ezer hektárnyi területet égettek le, és méltatta a tűzoltók bátorságát.
Eközben az Alpokban a hegymászókat arra kérik, hogy a rendkívüli éghajlati viszonyok okozta sziklaomlás veszélye miatt halasszák el a Mont Blanc-ra való feljutást.
Kedd óta a hőmérséklet Portugáliában 47 fokig, Spanyolországban pedig 40 fok fölé emelkedett, így a vidék csontszáraz lett, és ez tovább szította a tüzeket. A portugál időjárás-előrejelzők szerint a hőmérséklet továbbra is 40 fok fölött lesz, mielőtt a jövő héten visszaesne.
Portugália tűzvészgócai Porto városától északra, keletre találhatók. A tüzek idén 30 ezer hektárnyi területet pusztítottak el – ez a legnagyobb terület 2017 nyara óta, amikor Portugáliában tüzek pusztítottak, amelyekben mintegy 100 ember halt meg.

„Szörnyen érintett a tűzoltás közben lezuhant repülőgép pilótájának halála” – közölte az ország miniszterelnöke.
Erdőtüzekkel küzdenek Portugáliában, ahol a hőmérséklet csütörtökön elérte a 47 Celsiusfokos rekordot, majd másnap kissé visszaesett. A polgárvédelem pénteken arról számolt be, hogy országszerte összesen 900 tűzoltót vetettek be a lángok megfékezésébe.

Mintegy másfélezer tűzoltó próbált megfékezni vasárnap Portugáliában három nagyobb erdő- és bozóttüzet, amelyek már több napja tombolnak az ország középső és északi részén.
A közép-portugáliai Ourém településen csütörtökön keletkezett tűz oltására vasárnap több mint 700 embert mozgósítottak, miután legalább 1500 hektárnyi növényzet elpusztult, és legalább két lakóház leégett. Egy másik tűzvész, amely miatt 450 tűzoltót mozgósítottak, péntek óta tombol a Leiria és Santarém kerületek találkozásánál fekvő Pombal településen.
Az északkeleti Braganca régióban, Carrazeda de Ansiaesben csütörtökön kitört tűzvész volt a másik olyan eset, amely miatt Antonio Costa miniszterelnök lemondta tervezett mozambiki útját, hogy jobban figyelemmel tudja kísérni a helyzetet. Az elmúlt napok tüzeiben nagyjából harminc ember megsérült, többségüket a helyszínen kezelték füstmérgezés vagy kimerültség tüneteivel.
A portugál kormány úgy döntött, hogy hétfőtől jövő hét péntekig készenléti állapot kihirdetésével megemeli a riasztási szintet, és arra kérte az Európai Uniót, hogy indítsa el a közös polgári védelmi mechanizmust, amelynek nyomán a Spanyolországban állomásozó két tűzoltó repülőgépet a térségbe vezényelnék.
Szinte példátlan időjárással nézünk szembe – nyilatkozta Andre Fernandes, az országos polgári védelmi parancsnok, miután pénteken és szombaton naponta több mint 120 tűzesetet jelentettek.

Pert indítanak José Sócrates korábbi portugál szocialista miniszterelnöke ellen pénzmosás és okirat-hamisítás miatt – jelentette a portugál média szombaton. A pénzmosás 2–12 évig, az okirat-hamisítás 3 évig terjedő börtönbüntetéssel sújtható.
Az ügyészség korrupcióért is felelősségre akarta vonni Sócratest, de Ivo Rosa, az illetékes portugál legfelső büntetőtörvényszék bírája úgy döntött, hogy a vádak ellentmondásossága, megalapozatlansága, valamint az elévülés ezt nem teszi lehetővé.
A Lusa portugál állami hírügynökség szerint Rosário Teixeira ügyész panaszt nyújtott be Rosa döntése ellen.
Sócratest, aki 2005 és 2011 között szolgált Portugália miniszterelnökeként, a lisszaboni repülőtéren vették őrizetbe 2014 novemberében Portugália eddig legnagyobb – Marquis fedőnevű – korrupcióellenes nyomozása keretében. Ez volt az első eset az ország történetében, hogy egy volt miniszterelnököt őrizetbe vettek.
A több mint 4000 oldalas vádirat szerint Sócratest három rendbeli hivatali vesztegetéssel, 16 rendbeli pénzmosással, kilenc rendbeli okirathamisítással és háromrendbeli adócsalással gyanúsítják. Úgy tudni, a bűncselekményeket 2006 és 2015 között követte el.
A dokumentum szerint több millió eurós vagyonhoz jutva kulcsfontosságú szerepet játszott egy csalásban, amelyben az Espirito Santo bankbirodalom, illetve a Portugal Telecom távközlési vállalat egykori vezetői is érintettek voltak.
Mindkét vállalkozás időközben megszűnt, eurómilliárdos veszteségeket okozva az adófizetőknek és a részvényeseknek is, az egykori vezetőket pedig különböző bűncselekményekkel gyanúsítják, ellenük nyomozás indult.
A szociáldemokrata politikus ártatlannak vallja magát, az eljárást pedig politikailag motiváltnak tartja.

Január 13-án a portugál kormány zárlatot rendelt el a koronavírus kitörése miatt. A határozat kivételeket is tartalmaz annak érdekében, hogy a tíz nap múlva, a január 24-én esedékes elnökválasztásokat meg lehessen tartani.
Ma Portugália ékes példája a COVID-19 esetek rekord számú növekedésének, mivel a karácsonyi ünnepek miatt enyhítették a karantén intézkedéseket.
Antonio Costa, az ország miniszterelnöke előző nap kijelentette, hogy a járvány „biztonságos ponton van”. Elmondása szerint a pénteken kezdődő teljes és szigorú zárlat minimum egy hónapig tart, és nem zárta ki annak meghosszabbítását.
