„98-а дивізія завершила свою місію в Хан-Юнісі”, – йдеться в заяві ЦАХАЛу. Ізраїльські війська покинули цю частину Сектора Гази „для відновлення сил і підготовки до подальших операцій”, уточнює командування армії.
Водночас у заяві йдеться, що в самому Секторі Гази залишаються „значні сили” армії Ізраїлю, які „збережуть свободу дій ізраїльської армії та її здатність проводити точні операції на основі розвідувальних даних”.

Південна частина Сектору Газа зазнала інтенсивного бомбардування Ізраїлем протягом ночі, незважаючи на міжнародний тиск щодо негайного припинення вогню на території, якій загрожує голод.
У повідомленні агентства новин Agence France-Presse (AFP) говориться, що Ізраїль здійснив авіаудар, який був спрямований на південне місто Рафах та його околиці – останнє місто в Газі, яке не було атаковане ізраїльськими наземними силами. Близько 1,5 мільйона людей знаходяться в цьому районі, багато з них втекли на південь до кордону з Єгиптом, інформує «Kreschatic».
Як повідомляє AFP, також було чути звуки вибухів і було видно, як піднімається дим у місті Газа на півночі, де ізраїльські війська атакують найбільшу міську лікарню вже більше тижня, пише Guardian.
Ізраїльські сили також оточили дві лікарні в Хан-Юнісі, де, за словами міністерства охорони здоров’я Гази, 12 людей, у тому числі кілька дітей, були вбиті під час ізраїльського удару по табору для переміщених осіб.
Міністерство охорони здоров’я Гази, яким керує ХАМАС, повідомило вранці в середу, що за ніч було вбито 66 людей, у тому числі троє загиблих під час авіаударів Ізраїлю по Рафаху та його околицях.
За даними AFP, Палестинський Червоний Півмісяць попередив, що тисячі людей опинилися в пастці в лікарні Нассера в Хан-Юнісі і «їхнє життя в небезпеці».
Бої тривали безперервно через два дні після того, як Рада Безпеки ООН прийняла свою першу резолюцію, яка закликає Ізраїль і ХАМАС до «негайного припинення вогню» та закликає звільнити приблизно 130 заручників, які, за словами Ізраїлю, залишаються в Газі, включаючи 34 полонених, які вважаються мертвими.

Єгипет споруджує стіну вздовж кордону з Сектором Газа. Вона має захистити країну від біженців, які можуть заполонити країну через військову операцію Ізраїлю проти терористів ХАМАС. Про це повідомляє The Wall Street Journal.
Видання проаналізувало супутникові знімки, на яких чітко видно, як у буферній зоні на південь від прикордонного переходу Рафах бульдозерами розчищають велику ділянку землі. Аналіз знімків показує, що роботи почалися в період між 4 і 14 лютого.
Зазначається, що підрядник та інженер повідомили виданню, що єгипетська армія доручила їм побудувати бетонну стіну заввишки п’ять метрів. За словами єгипетських чиновників, ведуться роботи з обнесення стіною укриття площею 20 квадратних кілометрів поблизу сектора Гази, в якому зможуть розміститися понад 100 000 осіб.
Це укриття знаходиться далеко від єгипетських населених пунктів. Єгипетські чиновники повідомили, що у разі масового виходу палестинців з Гази, Єгипет намагатиметься обмежити кількість біженців до рівня, нижчого за місткість території – до 50 000 – 60 000 осіб. Чиновники додали, що палестинцям буде заборонено залишати цей район, якщо тільки вони не виїжджають в іншу країну.
Представник уряду Єгипту відмовився обговорювати будівництво і послався на заяви, зроблені владою останніми тижнями про необхідність зміцнення кордону.
Губернатор регіону Північний Синай заперечив будівництво табору для біженців, заявивши, що роботи у цьому районі є частиною зусиль з інвентаризації будинків, зруйнованих під час минулої військової кампанії Єгипту проти екстремістів Ісламської держави в цьому регіоні.

Кількість загиблих палестинців у результаті війни в секторі Газа перевищила 25 000, повідомило в неділю місцеве міністерство охорони здоров’я, яке контролюється екстремістською ісламістською організацією ХАМАС.
Згідно із заявою, за 24 години до лікарень Гази було доставлено 178 тіл і майже 300 поранених, у результаті чого загальна кількість загиблих у Газі за два з половиною місяці війни зросла до 25 105, а кількість поранених – до 62 681.
Міністерство заявило, що це був один із найсмертоносніших днів із початку конфлікту 7 жовтня. Зіткнення між ізраїльськими солдатами і бойовиками ХАМАСу у вузькій прибережній смузі були масовими протягом останніх 24 годин.
Міністерство охорони здоров’я Гази не поділяє жертв серед населення на цивільних і військових, але стверджує, що 70 відсотків загиблих – жінки і діти. Ізраїльська армія стверджує, що на сьогоднішній день ліквідувала близько 9 000 бойовиків.

Армія оборони Ізраїлю почала новий великий наступ на західний район Хан-Юніса на півдні сектора Гази, де, на відміну від північної частини, ховаються багато мирних жителів, пише The Times of Israel у понеділок, 22 січня.
Зазначається, що в районі Хан-Юніса тривають запеклі бої, оскільки ЦАХАЛ має намір зруйнувати військову базу терористів ХАМАС.
За даними ізраїльських військових, від ранку 22 січня близько 50 бойовиків ХАМАС, зокрема кілька командирів, були вбиті наземними військами. Солдати Ізраїлю оточили табір біженців Хан-Юніс і починають маневрувати в ньому, де розташовані кілька об’єктів ХАМАС.
