„Британський уряд ініціював надзвичайні заходи, щоб достроково звільнити деяких засуджених із в’язниць, щоб запобігти їхній переповненості”, — повідомили в британському уряді.
Повідомляється, що за останні 30 років кількість ув’язнених в Англії та Уельсі подвоїлася. Минулого літа в Англії та Уельсі вона сягнула рекордного рівня — 88 225 осіб. У в’язницях перебувають понад 60 палестинських журналістів, яких ізраїльська влада затримала на окупованих палестинських територіях.
За даними Спілки журналістів Палестини, загалом ув’язнено 61 журналіста, 46 із них були затримані після теракту ХАМАСу.
Більшість журналістів походять з окупованого Західного берега та Гази, повідомив іспанському інформаційному агентству EFE Сурук Асад, речник профспілки. За його словами, Ізраїль арештовує палестинських журналістів без офіційних звинувачень і призначення дат суду, тому коли саме закінчаться їхні ув’язнення, невідомо.
«З ними поводяться дуже жорстоко, допити жорсткі та інтенсивні», – зазначив Асад, посилаючись на розповіді колишніх ув’язнених. За версією одного зі звільнених, під час допитів їх роздягають догола, потім виводять на відкриту територію, ображають і б’ють.
Згідно зі звітом Комітету захисту журналістів (CPJ), який документує порушення проти журналістів у всьому світі, з початку війни ЗМІ довелося надавати інформацію в надзвичайно складних і ворожих умовах.
До списку країн, де у в’язницях утримується найбільше журналістів, цього року ввійшов і Ізраїль. Директорка CPJ Джоді Гінзберг зазначила, що його присутність у списку є «доказом того, що така основна демократична норма, як свобода преси, зникає в країні, оскільки Ізраїль використовує драконівські методи, щоб змусити замовкнути палестинських журналістів».

Згідно з проведеним дослідженням, експрезидент Грузії Міхеіл Саакашвілі, який перебуває у в’язниці, швидше за все, був отруєний, повідомляє грузинський телеканал «Мтаварі».
Нещодавно адвокат Саакашвілі, Шалва Хачапурідзе, оприлюднив результати медичного обстеження, які показали, що в тілі експрезидента Грузії серед інших отруйних речовин виявили миш’як.
Стан здоров’я Саакашвілі погіршився настільки, що, за попередньою інформацією, він приїде до суду в інвалідному візку, оскільки вже не може самостійно ходити.
25 листопада голова громадської організації Empathy Маріам Джишкаріані повідомила, що в організмі експрезидента Грузії було виявлено три важких метали. Тоді лікар зробив висновок, що Саакашвілі став жертвою отруєння.
Невдовзі після медичного обстеження стан здоров’я Саакашвілі почав різко погіршуватися. За словами його адвоката, він не тільки не може ходити, у нього відмерли і м’язи лівої руки. Через жахливі умови з часу ув’язнення минулого жовтня Саакашвілі схуд на 30 кілограмів.
Експрезидента Грузії Міхеіла Саакашвілі 1 жовтня 2021 року заарештували за звинуваченням у вбивстві керівника грузинського банку Сандро Гіргвліані, замовленні побиття депутата Валерія Гелашвілі, а також у незаконному перетині кордону Грузії.

За доводами прокурора Виноградівського відділу Берегівської окружної прокуратури місцевого жителя засуджено до 3 років 1 місяця позбавлення волі за злочин у сфері незаконного обігу психотропних речовин (ч. 2 ст. 309 КК України).
У судовому засіданні прокурор Ярослав Бігорі довів, що виноградівець у квітні цього року придбав та зберігав для власного вживання особливо небезпечний психотроп – PVP – у великих розмірах. Замовив «товар» через мережу Інтернет і, намагаючись приховати причетність до злочину, оформив посилку на ім’я свого сусіда. Чоловік вже судимий раніше за аналогічне правопорушення. У липні 2021 року його засудили до позбавлення волі зі встановленням іспитового строку на рік. Саме в цей період обвинувачений і вчинив новий злочин.
У суді він свою вину у скоєному не визнав. Спочатку розповідав, що замовляв звичайні свічки, а чому в пакунку був психотроп – не розуміє. Згодом намагався запевнити, що на одному з інтернет-сайтів отримав сповіщення про виграш призу, тож ввів дані для його одержання. Суд прийшов до висновку, що такими суперечливими показами обвинувачений лише намагається уникнути кримінальної відповідальності, тож не взяв їх до уваги.
Наразі вступ вироку в законну силу очікується.
Примітка: вирок суду першої інстанції набирає законної сили після закінчення строку подання апеляційної скарги, встановленого КПК України, якщо таку скаргу не було подано. У разі подання апеляційної скарги судове рішення, якщо його не скасовано, набирає законної сили після ухвалення рішення судом апеляційної інстанції (ст. 532 КПК України).

У в’язниці Евін у Тегерані, де місцева влада утримує політв’язнів, сталися пожежа та стрілянина, під час яких пролунали вибухи.

“Є інформація про пожежу у сумнозвісній тегеранській в’язниці Евін. Були розгорнуті спецпідрозділи поліції, на відео чути тюремні сирени та постріли”, – йдеться у повідомленні.
Як повідомив один з очевидців, вибухи були такими потужними, що вибуховою хвилею були вибиті шибки у навколишніх будинках.
Ув’язнені ламали двері, аби вибратися із задимлених камер, а силовики застосували сльозогінний газ.
Натомість біля Евіна зібралися десятки протестувальників, у тому числі сім’ї політв’язнів, які скандували “Смерть диктатору!”.

Суд у справах про тероризм визнав Нуру бинт Саїд аль-Кахтані винною у «використанні інтернету для розриву соціальної структури» та «порушенні громадського порядку з використанням соціальних мереж». Про неї мало що відомо, крім того, що вона критикувала лідерів Саудівської Аравії.
«Ніщо в її судових документах не стосується будь-якого насильства чи злочинної діяльності. Звинувачення проти неї справді великі. Вони використовують закон про боротьбу з тероризмом і закон про боротьбу з кіберзлочинністю, який може криміналізувати будь-яку публікацію, яка навіть віддалено критикує уряд», — заявив Абдулла Алауд, директор з досліджень регіону Перської затоки у правозахисному центрі Dawn.
Британська правозахисна група ALQST також висловила серйозне занепокоєння з приводу вироку Кахтані, який був «заснований на її твітах».
«Як і побоювалися, ми спостерігаємо тривожне погіршення ситуації з правами людини в Саудівській Аравії», — йдеться у повідомленні.
Раніше в серпні Сальма аль-Шехаб, саудівська аспірантка Лідського університету, була засуджена до 34 років увʼязнення. Термін покарання Гендерсона завершувався 2 травня, але після того, як він прийняв пропозицію Скотта і надав йому свої особисті дані, він не покинув заклад, пише CNN.
Скотт надягнув маску і надав інспекторам дані свого партнера при перевірці, а тюремні охоронці не помітили заміну.
