Angliában, Kelet-Sussexnél kokainnal teli csomagokat sodort a partra a víz.
A BBC azt írja, hogy óriási értékű drogot fedeztek fel Angliában a kelet-sussexi partoknál. Az első csomagokat már csütörtökön megtalálták a hatóságok a vízen lebegve, de azóta is szórványosan találnak droggal teli pakkokat. Az eddig talált kokain piaci értékét 2 millió fontra (830 millió forintra) becslik.
Emiatt a rendőrség folyamatosan vizsgálja a környéket, és arra kérik a helyi lakosokat, hogy aki ilyen csomagot talál, az hívja fel a hatóságokat.
Az esettel kapcsolatban eddig három embert tartóztattak le.
Májusban is történt hasonló eset, akkor összesen 960 kilogramm kokaint találtak Hasting és Newhaven partjainál.

Az angliai West Midlands nagyvárosi megye rendőrei nemrég azért csaptak le egy bitcoinfarmra, mert azt gondolták, hogy ott illegális tevékenység, egész pontosan marihuánatermesztés zajlik. Persze nem arról van szó, hogy a rendőrök ne tudnák megkülönböztetni a füvet a kriptovalutától: a létesítmény illegálisan jutott áramhoz, az egyenruhások pedig emiatt gondolták, hogy a kábítószer állhat a háttérben.

Tömegverekedés tört ki a London melletti Luton repterén, tizenheten verekedtek össze a váróteremben, közülük 11 ember ellen emeltek vádat – írja a BBC.
A verekedésben négyen sérültek meg, közülük háromnak súlyos a sebesülése. A verekedés pénteken reggel történt a reptér indulási várójában.
A tizenegy, 20 és 55 éves kor közötti férfit óvadék ellenében szabadlábra helyezték; a bíróságon kell felelniük erőszakos viselkedés miatt. Rajtuk kívül még öt embert állított elő a rendőrség, akik vádemelés nélkül távozhattak, további egy verekedő pedig feltételesen került óvadék ellenében szabadlábra.

2600 háztartás lakóit kellett evakuálni vasárnap a 120 ezer fős angliai Exeterben, amikor egy építkezésnél egy hatalmas második világháborús német bombát találtak – közölte a BBC.
Több mint 2500 lakóingatlant és egy egyetemet is kiürítettek vasárnap délelőtt, miután egy építkezésen péntek délután egy egytonnás második világháborús bombát találtak. A tűzszerészek először azt hitték, hogy el tudják szállítani a hatalmas robbanóeszközt, azonban ez túl kockázatosnak bizonyult. Ezért úgy döntöttek, hogy a helyszínen semmisítik azt meg.
Miután vasárnap reggel evakuálták 400 méteres körzetben a lakókat, speciális fémszerkezetekkel vették körbe a bombát, majd azt a helyszínen felrobbantották. A robbanást 8 kilométerre is lehetett hallani.
A komoly biztonsági előkészületek ellenére is 100 méteres körzetben kisebb károkat okozott a detonáció, a légnyomástól több ablak is betört a környékbeli épületekben, volt, ahol a falak is megrepedtek. Ezért a lakók egy része még vasárnap délben sem térhetett haza.
A robbanás után a törmelék egy 250 méterű sugarú körben szóródott szét. Ezekben a házakban a szakemberek azonnal megkezdték a helyreállítási munkálatokat, és azt ígérték, hogy legkésőbb hétfőn már mindenki a saját otthonában töltheti az éjszakát.

A koronavírus-járvány kirobbanása miatt hozott első lezárások idején gyilkolta meg feleségét egy buszsofőr, aki a tettét később megpróbálta a Covid-19-re fogni.
Az Észak-Londonban élő 57 éves Maryam Ismail megcsonkított holttestére április 6-án találtak rá a hatóságok, miután férje, a 66 éves Hussein Egal nyugodt hangnemben közölte a kiérkező rendőrökkel, hogy meggyilkolta a feleségét.
Maryam 70 sérülést szenvedett, ezek közül a legsúlyosabbak fejét és mellkasát érték. A férfi a háztartásban megtalálható különböző eszközökkel, többek között egy húsbárddal, egy létrával, lábasokkal és serpenyőkkel, egy asztallábbal és egy kalapáccsal támadt rá feleségére.
A bíróságon elhangzott, hogy Egal, miután végzett Maryammel, szemernyi megbánást sem mutatott és úgy élte tovább életét, mintha mi sem történt volna. A férfit a gyilkosság előtt egy héttel kirúgták munkahelyéről becstelenség miatt, értesült a Metro.
A gyilkos több különböző indítékot hozott fel arra, hogy miért végzett Maryammel, először azt mondta, betörők ölték meg feleségét, majd azt, hogy az áldozat ki akarta őt rúgni közös otthonukból, amiért megfertőződött a vírussal (erről később bebizonyosodott, hogy egyáltalán nem volt hajlandó tesztet végeztetni magán a bűncselekményt megelőző időszakban), és végül azzal próbálta meg hárítani a felelősséget, hogy a Covid-19 miatt őrült meg és a betegség váltotta ki belőle az erőszakos támadást.

A bristoli Sam FM rádió riportere a helyszínről bejelentkezve azt mondta, hogy a baleset „súlyosnak tűnik”, valamint hogy az épület tetőszerkezetének egy részét lerepítette a robbanás.

Csaknem fél évszázaddal az egyik legsúlyosabb angliai pokolgépes merénylet után őrizetbe vették a terrorcselekmény egyik gyanúsítottját.
A közép-angliai Birmingham két pubjában 1974. november 21-én este lépett működésbe egy-egy robbanószerkezet. A Mulberry Bush nevű pubban tízen, a Tavern in the Town sörözőben tizenegyen vesztették életüket. A két merényletnek 220 sérültje volt.
Az összehangolt pokolgépes támadás az észak-írországi brit fennhatóság ellen küzdő egykori legnagyobb katolikus milícia, az Ír Köztársasági Hadsereg (IRA) fegyveres kampányának csúcspontján történt. A brit hatóságok az IRA-t tartják a 46 évvel ezelőtti birminghami merénylet felelősének, a csoport azonban soha nem jelentkezett a két robbantás elkövetőjeként, jóllehet szinte mindig elismerte az általa elkövetett merényleteket.
A birminghami robbantások előtt figyelmeztetés érkezett egy helyi lap szerkesztőségébe a készülő támadásról – ez is az IRA bevett gyakorlata volt -, ám a helyszínt a telefonáló pontatlanul jelölte meg, ezért nem maradt idő a pubok kiürítésére.
A középnyugat-angliai terrorellenes rendőri szolgálat és az észak-írországi rendőrség nyomozói a hivatalos szerdai tájékoztatás szerint az északír fővárosban, Belfastban vettek őrizetbe egy 65 éves férfit a robbantásokkal összefüggésben.
A tájékoztatásból nem derül ki, hogy az egyelőre meg nem nevezett gyanúsított a hatóságok feltételezése szerint az IRA tagja volt-e. A beszámoló ugyanakkor kiemeli, hogy a férfit a 2000-ben kelt terrorellenes törvény alapján vették őrizetbe és gyanúsítottként hallgatják ki egy észak-írországi rendőrőrsön, belfasti otthonában pedig házkutatás kezdődött.
A merénylet után egy évvel hat, Birminghamben élő észak-írországi férfit bűnösnek mondtak ki a pokolgépes támadás megszervezésében és elkövetésében, és mindegyiküket életfogytig tartó börtönbüntetésre ítélték.
A Birminghami Hatok néven közismertté vált csoport – Hugh Callaghan, Paddy Hill, Gerard Hunter, Richard McIlkenny, William Power és John Walker – 16 évet töltött rács mögött, mire kiderült, hogy ártatlanul ítélték el őket. A londoni központi büntetőbíróság 1991. március 14-én megsemmisítette az ítéletet, és szabadlábra helyezte a hat férfit.
Az Ír Köztársasági Hadsereg 1969-ben kezdődött terrorhadjáratában több mint háromezren vesztették életüket vagy sebesültek meg, köztük hétszáz brit katona.
A republikánus milícia fegyveres harcát hivatalosan az 1998-as nagypénteki rendezési megállapodás zárta le, a tényleges áttörés azonban 2007-ben történt, amikor az IRA leszerelte fegyverzetét.

Hatalmas tűzeset történt az angliai Bradfordban, a vonatállomás közelében, egy gumiabroncs-hulladéklerakó területén. A hírt a Jevropejszka pravda közölte a BBC-re hivatkozva.
A tűz a város keleti részén november 16-án, helyi idő szerint körülbelül 04.30-kor kezdődött, törölték a bradfordi vasútjáratokat, és lezárták az utakat a környéken.
