Jacquemain Shabani miniszterelnök-helyettes, belügyminiszter elmondta, hogy a péntekről szombatra virradóra lezúduló özönvízszerű esőzés a főváros több kerületében jelentős károkat okozott, több tucatnyi sérültet hagyott maga után és számos házat rombolt le.
A kormány a fegyveres erőkkel, több minisztériummal és a kinshasai tartományi kormányzattal együttműködve válságkezelő egységet hozott létre az evakuálások végrehajtására és a mentőegységek bevetésére.
Az árvíz megbénította a város infrastruktúrájának nagy részét, elöntötte a főbb utakat, és széles körű fennakadásokat okozott az egész város áram- és vízellátásában.
A közlekedési minisztérium súlyos fennakadásokról számolt be a főváros nemzetközi repülőterére vezető utakon, ami miatt vészhelyzeti szolgáltatást indítottak a bajba jutott utazók megsegítésére.
A meteorológusok az elkövetkező napokra további heves esőzéseket jósolnak. Attól lehet tartani, hogy további károkat fog elszenvedni a 17 milliós város.

Horvátországban árvíz sújtotta Orahovicát és Izdencet, miután a Vucica folyó kilépett medréből, elárasztva a települések több utcáját. A katasztrófavédelem megkezdte a lakók evakuálását, miközben homokzsákokkal igyekeznek megfékezni az áradást – írta az Index.
A heves esőzések nyomán árvíz sújtja a horvátországi Orahovicát és a környező településeket. A hatóságok beszámolója és a felvételek szerint a víz több házat is elöntött – adta hírül a horvát Index.
A helyzet miatt március 27. csütörtök este a Polgári Védelmi Központ rendkívüli ülést tartott. Megerősítették, hogy a víz már több házba is behatolt. Az ülésen felhívták a figyelmet arra, hogy miután a Vucica folyó kilépett a medréből, az orahovicai Zvonimira és a Dalmatinska utcákban már több helyen is elöntötte az épületeket. A tanácskozáson az érintett megye (Virovitica-Podravina) alprefektusa, Marijo Klement is részt vett.
Nagy mennyiségű csapadék hullott, több mint 75 liter négyzetméterenként. Amikor ma reggel hatkor kimentünk a mezőre, a gát még tartott. Most azonban sajnos túlfolyik rajta, ami azt jelenti, hogy több mint kilencméteres vízállás van ott. Az ár már elérte az első házakat, a Stjepan Radiclement utca pedig jelenleg le van zárva Orahovicában
– mondta el a tisztviselő.
Az emberek még mindig otthonaikban vannak, és sürgős evakuálásra van szükség
– hangzott el a főkapitányság ülésén, amely után megkezdődött a legveszélyeztetettebb lakosok evakuálása.
A portál információi szerint a térségben csónakokkal is mentik az embereket. A súlyosbodó helyzet miatt a polgári védelem úgy döntött, a közüzemi dolgozókkal és a tűzoltóság bevonásával homokzsákokkal erősítik az érintett településeket. Megjegyezték, az áradás jelenleg Orahovicán és Izdenc község területén a legnehezebb.
A helyzet valóban komoly. A folyó kiöntött, és a víz behatol az udvarokba, a házak felé halad. Az eső továbbra is fáradhatatlanul esik, a vízszint pedig emelkedik. A hatóságok emberei a helyszínen vannak, a zsákokat a legalacsonyabb pontokon helyezik el, és további egységeket is várunk
– mondta Tomislav Durmic, Izdenc község polgármestere.
Ha az állapot tovább romlik, a katasztrófavédelem bejelentette egy krízispont létrehozását, ahol a lakók menedékhez, vízhez és alapvető szükségleti cikkekhez juthatnak.

A Tajo folyó áradása vasárnap összeomlasztott egy római kori hidat a Spanyolország középső részén fekvő Talavera de la Reina városában – számolt be a hirado.hu.
A város szimbólumának számító gyalogos híd beomlásáról José Julián Gregorio polgármester tett közzé videófelvételt az X-en.
Hangsúlyozta: mindent megtesznek azért, hogy minél előbb újjáépíthessék a Szent Katalin-hidat, amelynek római alapjain a XV. század végén épült meg az átkelő. A évtizedek során már többször kellett helyreállítani, legutóbb 1950-ben szakadt be egy része.
A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint a heves esőzések következtében a városon áthaladó Tajo folyó elérte a másodpercenként 1000 köbmétert meghaladó vízhozamot.
Kasztília-La Mancha tartományban az árvízveszély miatt több mint száz ingatlanból evakuálták a lakókat Escalona településen, és további hat településen adtak ki riasztást az Alberche folyó áradása miatt, amely évtizedek óta nem látott vízszintet ért el.
A fővárost is magába foglaló Madrid tartományban Mejorada del Campo településen 50 embert telepítettek ki miután a Jarama és az Henares folyó veszélyes szintemelkedése miatt.
A hatóságok készenlétben állnak a fővároson áthaladó Manzanares folyó áradása miatt is, miután vízhozama pénteken az ilyenkor szokásos mennyiség tizenötszörösére duzzadt.
A régióban két túrázót kellett kimenteni szombat este, akiket meglepett egy erős hóvihar, és a rossz látási viszonyok miatt eltévedtek.
Az Aragónban található Moncayó nemzeti parkban a hegyimentők már nem tudtak segíteni három bajba jutott hegymászón, mindannyian életüket vesztették.
Az Ibériai-félszigeten három hete váltják egymást a nagy kiterjedésű viharok, vasárnap a Martinho névre keresztelt vihar hagyja el fokozatosan a térséget, leginkább az északi országrészben okozva tartós csapadékot, óránként 70 kilométert meghaladó erősségű szelet, és a hegyekben havazást.

Több ezer embert kellett kitelepíteni Ausztrália észak-keleti részén, miután a régióban évtizedek óta nem tapasztalt áradás van készülőben az elmúlt napok esőzései miatt. Queensland államban 24 óra leforgása alatt 700 milliméter csapadék esett, az áradásnak már halálos áldozata is van.
Legalább egy ember életét vesztette, és több ezren kényszerültek az otthonuk elhagyására Ausztráliában, miután a heves esőzések áradásokat okoztak Queensland állam északi részén. A BBC szerint a helyi hatóságok figyelmeztették a lakosságot, hogy az árvíz magassága elérheti egy szokványos lakóház második emeletét is.
Az állam miniszterelnöke arról beszélt, hogy 24 óra leforgása alatt 700 milliméter csapadék hullott, de még nagyobb aggodalomra ad okot, hogy a „rekordmennyiségű” esőzés hétfőn is folytatódik. Ausztrál meteorológusok szerint az elmúlt 60 év legsúlyosabb áradása lehet ez a régióban.
A hatóságok Townsville városában 100 ezer homokzsákot helyeztek el a víz megfékezésére, több ezer embernek pedig el kell hagynia az otthonát legkésőbb vasárnap délig. Az X-en terjedő videók tanúsága szerint nehéz napok jönnek Queensland államban, ahol jelenleg a víz az úr.

Tenbury Wells városát másodpercek alatt árasztotta el a Kyre Brook folyó, miután az azt körülvevő fal nem bírta a terhelést.
Lecsapott Nagy Britanniára a Bert vihar. Az esőzések okozta áradások következtében iskolák zártak be, főutak váltak járhatatlanná. A tűzoltók felhívták a lakosok figyelmét arra, hogy az áradások alatt ne induljanak útnak autóval. A sínekre zúduló víz miatt Birmingham környékén leállították a vasúti forgalmat, írja a BBC.
A legsúlyosabb áradás azonban Tenbury Wellsben volt, amikor a Kyre Brook folyó körüli fal a hatalmas terhelés következtében összeomlott, így a várost pillanatok alatt elöntötte a víz.
David Chambers, Tenbury képviselője elmondta, hogy a folyó vízszintje a fal tetejéig emelkedett, mielőtt az összeomlott. Hozzátette, hogy a csatornák megteltek, és az áradás miatt a szennyvíz a Market Streetre folyt.
Volt egy kis pánik, mert nem tudtuk, hogy a víz mekkora területet fog elönteni a fal leomlása miatt – mondta. Hozzátette, hogy voltak, akik még az üzleteikben tartózkodtak, ahol az árvíz ellen próbáltak védekezni, néhányukat a tűzoltóknak kellett biztonságos helyre segíteniük.
A közösségi médiában hatalmas felháborodást keltett az a videó, amiben egy traktor áthalad az elárasztott utcán, a jármű által generált hullámok pedig több üzlet kirakatát megrongálták.
Louise Preston, a Tenburyben található Pitter Potter fazekasbolt tulajdonosa elmondta, hogy az üzlet kirakatát betörte a víz, amikor a traktor elhaladt mellette. Hozzátette, hogy a hullámok más üzletek kirakatait is betörték.
A Környezetvédelmi Ügynökség mintegy 30 árvízvédelmi figyelmeztetést, és több mint 45 árvízriasztást adott ki West Midlands, Herefordshire, Worcestershire és Shropshire területén. Az érintett területeken a vízszint továbbra is magas marad, ezért a víz elleni védekezés folyamatos.

Pár héttel a hatalmas pusztítás után most folytatódik a szörnyű árvízhullám Spanyolországban. Malaga és Valencia már az áradások áldozata lett, rengeteg otthont és kórházat kellett evakuálni.
Vörös riasztásokat adtak ki, és több ezer embert evakuáltak, mivel egy erős vihar heves esőzésekkel és erős széllel sújtja Spanyolországot, mindössze hetekkel azután, hogy halálos árvizek pusztították az országot. A spanyol meteorológiai szolgálat, az Aemet szerda este a legmagasabb szintre emelte a riasztást Valenciában, miután a térség ismét a legsúlyosabb károkat szenvedte el az áradás miatt.

Spanyolországban dühös tömeg fogadta és megdobálta vasárnap az özönvízszerű esők okozta áradások helyszínére látogató közjogi méltóságokat. A királyi pár a miniszterelnökkel és a tartományi elnökkel közösen a természeti katasztrófa által leginkább sújtott települések egyikét, Paiportát kereste fel, ahol több mint hatvanan vesztették életüket.
A sárral és törmelékkel borított utcákon haladtak, amikor több száz összegyűlt helybeli kiabálni kezdett, és követelte Pedro Sánchez miniszterelnök, valamint Carlos Mazón tartományi elnök lemondását.
„Gyilkosok” – kiabálták többen.
Sárral és különböző tárgyakkal, például műanyag palackokkal dobálták őket. A hatóságok közbeléptek, igyekeztek megfékezni a tömeget: A közjogi méltóságokat védő biztonsági őrök ernyőt tartottak a repülő tárgyak elé.
Az Antena3 kereskedelmi televízió információi szerint Pedro Sánchez kormányfőt kimenekítették a testőrök, miután ütés érte a hátán. A többiek viszont maradtak, és odaléptek a felháborodott emberekhez, hogy meghallgassák őket.
A közzétett felvételek szerint a királyi pár igyekezett megnyugtatni a embereket, többeket vigasztaltak és megöleltek.
A helyiek arra panaszkodtak, hogy elkeseredettek és kimerültek, mert öt napja hiába várják a segítséget, amely jöhetne a hadseregtől is, és nem érkeznek munkagépek.
„Semmink sem maradt” – mondta az egyikük.
A rendkívüli időjárás hatalmas pusztítást végzett a héten a kelet-spanyolországi tartományban, 69 települést és több százezer hektárnyi területet sújtott. Károkat okozott Kasztília-La Mancha és Andalúzia egyes részein is. A halálos áldozatok száma a legutóbbi hivatalos tájékoztatás szerint 217-re nőtt, de még mindig vannak eltűntek, akik után kutatnak.
