Tálib lázadók helyett kilenc civil halálát okozta egy amerikai dróntámadás péntek este a kelet-afganisztáni Nangarhar tartományban – közölték helyi tisztségviselők.
Az Afganisztánban állomásozó amerikai erők a tálibok ellenőrzése alatt lévő
területen akartak végezni lázadókkal, de a két gépjárműben, amelyet célba
vettek, nem ők, hanem piknikről hazatérő civilek, köztük egy gyerek utazott. A
tálibok egyik szóvivője közölte, hogy a két gépkocsiban tizenegy civil volt.
Egy afgán tisztségviselő szerint tálib fegyveresek is voltak a közelben,
ellenőrző pontot állítottak fel éppen az úton.
Az amerikai erők egyelőre nem válaszoltak a balul sikerült támadást firtató
kérdésre – közölte a dpa hírügynökség. Az afgán védelmi minisztérium
vizsgálatot indított.
Az északi Tahár tartományban viszont az afgán hadsereg légiereje megölt hét
tálibot – köztük két helyi parancsnokot – péntek éjjel. A támadásban további
három tálib megsebesült – közölték tisztségviselők.
A tálibok a héten ultimátumban követeltek választ az Egyesült Államoktól
arra a javaslatukra, amely szerint egy hétnapos időszakra csökkentenék a harci
cselekményeket Afganisztánban. Azzal fenyegették az amerikai felet, hogy
máskülönben felhagynak a tárgyalásokkal. A felajánlott időszak azért ilyen
rövid, mert nem akarják elkötelezni magukat egy hivatalos tűzszünet mellett,
amíg a végső megállapodás többi elemét a felek nem rendezték.
Mark Esper amerikai védelmi miniszter csütörtökön közölte, hogy tárgyalnak a
hétnapos ajánlatról. Az AFP hírügynökség úgy értesült, hogy a megállapodás már
meg is született, de egyelőre nem lehet tudni, mikor kezdődik a szóban forgó
hét nap.

Az OSDH hozzátette, hogy 24 óra alatt összesen 21-en haltak
meg orosz légicsapások miatt.
A szíriai hadsereg tavaly indított offenzívát Idlíb és környéke
ellen, a térség ugyanis a kormány ellen harcoló felkelők utolsó bástyája. A műveletet
az orosz légierő támogatja. Az elmúlt hetekben a kormányerők több települést
foglaltak vissza Idlíbben, kedden újra ellenőrzésük alá került a stratégiai
fontosságúnak tartott Maarat an-Numan is, a tartomány második legnagyobb városa.
Az OSDH értesülései szerint a hadsereg a közeli Szarákib felé tart. A város a
Damaszkuszt Aleppóval összekötő M5-ös autópálya mellett fekszik, visszavétele
pedig a kormányerők újabb fontos győzelmét jelentené.
Az offenzíva annak ellenére folytatódik, hogy Törökország és
Oroszország január 12-én megegyezett a tűzszünetről. Ankara a lázadókat, míg
Moszkva a kormányerőket támogatja a szíriai konfliktusban.
