A helyszínre kiérkező mentőszolgálatok munkájának eredményeként rátalálták a nőre, sajnos azonban már nem tudtak rajta segíteni.
Helyi mentőszolgálatok közlése szerint egy nő életét vesztette, miután egy tengerjáró hajóról a vízbe zuhant a Csatorna-szigetek közelében. A beszámoló alapján a kutató- és mentőszolgálat emberei rögtön kutatni kezdtek a 20 év körüli nő után.
A BBC szerint a helyszínre Guernsey-ről a Channel Islands Air Search egyik repülőgépe, valamint Cherbourg környékéről egy ott állomásozó helikopter is érkezett, míg más szakemberek mentőcsónakokkal folytatták a munkát.
Mint írják, a Les Casquets sziklacsoporttól északra és az Alderney szigettől nyugatra lévő területet fésülték át, amelynek eredményeként rátalálták a fiatal nőre, sajnos azonban már nem élt. Az orvosok később halottnak nyilvánították.
A mentőszolgálat megerősítette, hogy a brit és francia rendőrség vizsgálatot folytat a haláleset ügyében, valamint hozzáfűzték: az MSC Virtuose hajó, amelyen az áldozat utazott, jelenleg egy southamptoni kikötőben áll.

Legalább 78 ember megfulladt, amikor csütörtökön felborult egy több száz utast szállító hajó a Kongói Demokratikus Köztársaság keleti részén fekvő Kivu-tóban – közölte egy tartományi kormányzó.
A rokonok zokogtak a parton, miközben az áldozatokat hullazsákokba tették és elszállították – mondta aReuters nek egy szemtanú, és az interneten megosztott videofelvételek azt mutatták, ahogy a többszintes, zsúfolt hajó oldalra dől a nyugodt vízben, mielőtt felborult, és a tóba dobta a csapkodó utasokat.
Nem világos, hogy hány ember tűnt el, a regionális tisztviselők eltérő halálos áldozatokról számoltak be.
Dél-Kivu tartomány kormányzója szerint a halálos áldozatok száma 78, és 278-an voltak a fedélzeten.
„Legalább három napba telik, mire pontos számokat kapunk, mert még nem találták meg az összes holttestet” – mondta Jean Jacques Purisi kormányzó.
A szomszédos Észak-Kivu tartomány kormányzója viszont azt mondta, hogy 58 ember élte túl a balesetet, és hogy eddig 28 ember halálát erősítették meg hivatalosan. A hajó a kikötőtől mintegy 700 méterre borult fel, a baleset okait vizsgálják – írta közleményében.
A kongói vizeken gyakoriak a halálos kimenetelű hajóbalesetek, mivel a hajók gyakran a kapacitásukat meghaladó mértékben vannak terhelve. Egy helyi kórházban az egyik túlélő elmondta, hogy nyugodt volt a helyzet, amikor a zsúfolt hajó felborult. Miközben körülötte mások megfulladtak, ő a víz felett küzdött, amíg a kongói csapatok ki nem mentették.
„Láttam, ahogy az emberek elsüllyednek, sokan elmerültek. Láttam, hogy nők és gyerekek süllyednek a vízbe, és én magam is a fulladás szélén álltam, de Isten megsegített” – mondta az 51 éves Alfani Buroko Byamungu a kórházi ágyáról.
Tömegek gyűltek össze a gomai kikötőben, ahol a hajónak ki kellett volna kötnie. Néhányan könnyeket törölgettek a szemükről vagy a földön sírtak, míg mások dühösen kiabáltak, és a hatóságokat hibáztatták, amiért hagyták, hogy a régóta tartó lázadói konfliktus elvágja az utakat, ami szerintük a hajók túlzsúfoltságához vezetett.
„Mindez a háború következményeinek része […] Már nem tesznek erőfeszítést arra, hogy az ellenséget eltakarítsák az útról, hogy az újra működőképes legyen” – kiabálta Mushagulua Bienfait, egy gomai lakos, aki három rokonát vesztette el a balesetben.

Mintegy 160 embert sikerült kimenteni a körülbelül 300 utast szállító bárkáról, ami kedd este süllyedt el a Niger folyón. Egy helyi tisztviselő elmondása szerint a hajó már az ország nyugati részén fekvő Gbajibo közelébe ért, amikor a katasztrófa bekövetkezett.
Az MTI beszámolója szerint a mentési-kutatási munkálatok jelenleg is folynak, egyelőre nem világos, hogy miért süllyedt el a hajó. A nigériai vízi utakon a legtöbb hajóbalesetért a túlzsúfoltság és a rossz karbantartás a felelős.

A spanyol tengeri mentőszervezet közleménye szerint a nem sokkal éjfél után kapott riasztás után helyszínre érkezett egységnek 27 migránst sikerült kimentenie, az eltűnteket pedig még keresik – számolt be a Pesti Srácok.
A Spanyolországhoz tartozó Kanári-szigetek az első csónak 1994 augusztusában történt sikeres megérkezése óta számítanak az Afrikából Európába tartó illegális migránshajók és csónakok egyik fő célállomásának. A spanyol belügyminisztérium adatai szerint az azóta eltelt 30 év alatt mintegy 200 ezer migráns érkezett így Európába; egy emberjogvédő szervezet becslése szerint pedig legalább 4800-an fulladtak az óceánba ezen az útvonalon.
Idén augusztus közepéig 22 304-en érkeztek a Kanári-szigetekre az afrikai országokból, ami 126 százalékos emelkedésnek felel meg a tavalyi év hasonló időszakában regisztrált 9864 migránshoz képest; miközben már 2023-ban is rekordot döntött a szigetekre érkező illegális bevándorlók száma, megközelítve a 40 ezer főt. A Kanári-szigetek régióelnökének becslése szerint az egyre több induló hajó és gumicsónak miatt az év végig érkezők száma az 50 ezret is meghaladhatja.
A szigeteket érintő migráció jelentős emelkedését tapasztalva Pedro Sánchez spanyol miniszterelnök augusztus végén Afrikába látogatott, és Mauritániával és Gambiával is együttműködési megállapodást kötött az illegális migráció szabályozása és megfékezése érdekében.

A keresett hat személy közül öt ember holttestét találták meg búvárok a szicíliai partok közelében hétfőn elsüllyedt Bayesian luxusjacht roncsának szerdai vizsgálata során – közölték az olasz hatóságok.
Bár a megtalált és partra hozott holttesteket még nem azonosították, a The Daily Telegraph brit lap értesülése szerint a kiemelt holttestek között van Mike Lynch brit számítástechnikai nagyvállalkozóé és 18 éves Hannah lányáé.
Az eltűntek között volt Jonathan Bloomer, a Morgan Stanley elnöke, Bloomer felesége, Judy, illetve Cris Morvillo és felesége, Neda Morvillo is. Morvillo Lynch ügyvédje, Bloomer pedig Lynch koronatanúja volt a vállalkozó csalási perében.

A balesetet a 22 emberből 15 ember élte túl.

Egy ember meghalt, hatan eltűntek – közöttük Mike Lynch brit számítástechnikai nagyvállalkozó –, miután váratlanul erős viharba került és elsüllyedt egy luxusjacht hétfőn a szicíliai partok közelében.
A brit zászló alatt hajózó, 56 méter hosszú Bayesian jachton tizenkét utas és tízfős legénység tartózkodott, és éppen Porticello kikötőjétől 700 méterre horgonyzott a nyílt vízen, amikor erős széllökések és özönvízszerű esőzés kísérte heves vihar tört ki, s a hajó egy víztölcsér útjába került – áll az olasz parti őrség közleményében.
Szemtanúk elmondták, hogy a jachtot gyorsan elborították a hullámok, mielőtt elsüllyedt. Tizenöt embernek sikerült a süllyedés előtt elhagyni a hajót, közöttük volt egy egyéves gyermek is.
Az eltűntek és a halott nevét nem tették közzé, de a mentőszolgálat egyik tagja megerősítette, hogy Mike Lynch az eltűntek között van. A feleségét, Angela Barcarest sikerült kimenteni.
Az olasz parti őrség annyit közölt, hogy az eltűntek brit, amerikai és kanadai állampolgárok.
Nyolc hajótöröttet helyi kórházakba szállítottak.
„Nagyon erős volt a szél. Számítottunk a rossz időre, de nem ilyen mértékűre” – mondta Szicília székvárosában, Palermóban a parti őrség egyik vezetője a Reuters hírügynökségnek.
Az elmúlt napokban a heteken át tartó perzselő hőség után viharok és heves esőzések vonultak át Olaszországon, az árvizek és földcsuszamlások súlyos károkat okoztak az ország északi részén.
Egy közeli hajó kapitánya elmondta, hogy amikor kitört a vihar igyekezett elkerülni az ütközést a Bayesiannal.
Karsten Borner közölte, hogy sikerült irányban tartani a hajót, és amikor a viharnak vége lett, nem látták már a Bayesiant, amely elsüllyedt.
A kapitány elmondta, hogy a legénység néhány túlélőt talált egy mentőtutajon, közöttük három súlyos sérültet, valamint egy anyát a csecsemőjével, és a partra szállították őket a parti őrség megérkezése előtt.
Az 59 éves Lynch az egyik legismertebb brit számítástechnikai vállalkozó. A cambridge-i egyetem kutatójaként ő építette fel az ország legnagyobb szoftveres cégét, az Autonomyt, a brit Bill Gates-ként emlegették.
A céget 2011-ben adta el a Hewlett-Packardnak 11 milliárd dollárért, majd az amerikai óriásvállalat azzal vádolta meg, hogy meghamisították a cég számláit. Lynchet 2023-ban adták ki az Egyesült Államoknak. Majdnem egy évi házi őrizet után júniusban egy San Franciscó-i esküdtszék minden vádpont alól felmentette.
A parti őrség közölte, hogy búvárok vizsgálják át a Bayesian roncsát, amely 49 méter mélyen fekszik a tengerben.
A közeli Termini Imerese város ügyészei vizsgálatot indítottak a szerencsétlenség ügyében. A Bayesian a toscanai Perini hajóépítő cég műhelyében készült 2008-ban, és 2020-ban újították fel. Hetvenöt méter magas árboca a legmagasabb alumínium árboc a világon – írta a Perini a honlapján.
Lynch PhD doktori dolgozata és a szoftver, amelynek a vagyonát köszönhette, a Bayes-tételen alapszik.
A Bayesian augusztus 14-én hajózott ki a szicíliai Milazzo kikötőjéből, és vasárnap este Palermótól keletre horgonyzott a Vesselfinder hajómegfigyelő honlap szerint.
Egy brit külügyi szóvivő közölte, hogy a brit hivatalnokok kapcsolatban állnak a helyi hatóságokkal az incidens miatt, és készek konzuli segítséget nyújtani az érintett briteknek.

Olyan nagy sebességgel ütközött egy rendőrségi hajó egy tiszai kompnál kifeszített drótkötélbe, hogy megpördült és elsüllyedt – számolt be a Telex egy átkelőnél elhelyezett kamera által rögzített, Facebookon megosztott videó alapján.
A baleset még szombat reggel háromnegyed nyolc körül történt a Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg vármegyében, a Tokaj felett található Timárnál, amikor a komp éppen a kamerához képest a túlparton várakozott, de a kompkötél már ki volt feszítve.
A rendőrhajót a baleset után nem sokkal részben kiemelték, majd egy traktorral ki is húzták a partra. A baleset helyszínére tűzoltók és búvárok is kivonultak – írja a hírportál.
A baleset részleteiről a Telex a rendőrséget is megkérdezte, de egyelőre nem kaptak hivatalos tájékoztatást.

Újabb részletek derültek ki a Verőcénél történt hajókatasztrófáról. A Heidelberg nevű szállodahajó, amely szombat éjjel ütközött a kisebb hajóval, jelenleg a komáromi kikötőben áll, és addig nem hagyhatja el senki, amíg nem hallgatták ki őket a történtekről.
Mint ahogy arról mi is beszámoltunk, a szombat késő éjjeli hajóbalesetben egy 110 méteres luxushajó ütközhetett egy másik, kisebb hajóval, amelyről még most is keresik az öt eltűnt utast. Kiderült az is, hogy a Heidelberg szállodahajó épp Budapestről Passauba tartott, amikor ütközött a motorcsónakkal.
A svájci bejegyzésű, kétszintes luxushajó jelenleg Komáromnál állomásozik, a hatóságok már megkezdték a helyszínelést a fedélzetén. A Telex információi szerint 110 ember van a hajón, akiknek mindegyikét kihallgatja a rendőrség. Akár estig is eltarthatnak a kihallgatások, addig pedig senki nem szállhat le a hajóról. A BRFK szóvivője, Csécsi Soma egyelőre nem osztott meg további információkat azzal kapcsolatban, mikor távozhatnak az utasok a fedélzetről.
A portál szerint a Heidelbergen egy 25 fős turistacsoport is tartózkodik, akikért már megérkezett a busz, hogy a tervezett pozsonyi helyszín helyett továbbvigye őket, azonban a rendőrség erre még nem adott engedélyt. A partról is jól látható az ütközés nyoma, azonban a hatóságok a jármű mindkét oldalát alaposan átvizsgálták.
A cikk szerint a luxushajó vezetője egy szlovákiai magyar férfi, aki már 35 éve hajózik a Dunán. A mostani Budapest-Passau közötti utat is többször megtette már és csak egy éve volt a nyugdíjba vonulásáig.
A kapitány nem is vette észre, hogy ütközött a másik hajóval. A baleset után még két órán keresztül haladt tovább a luxushajóval, majd éjfélkor, a műszakváltás után lefeküdt aludni és csak ébredés után értesítették róla, hogy baleset történt. Egyelőre sem az utasok, sem a kapitány nem léphet kapcsolatba a külvilággal.

Hajóbaleset történt szombat éjjel a Dunán, Verőce közelében, a balesetben ketten meghaltak, öt embert még keresnek – közölte a Budapesti Rendőr-főkapitányság (BRFK) vasárnap délelőtt a rendőrség honlapján. Vélhetően egy motorcsónak egy szállodahajóval ütközött.
A BRFK tájékoztatása szerint szombat éjszaka arról érkezett bejelentés, hogy a 12-es főút mellett Verőcénél egy vérző fejű férfit találtak, akivel nehéz kommunikálni. A rendőrök kimentek a helyszínre, meghallgatták a sérültet, és arra következtetésre jutottak, hogy a férfi egy vízi baleset áldozata.
A rendőrök a katasztrófavédelemmel és a Pest Vármegyei Kutató-Mentő Szolgálat munkatársaival azonnal megkezdték a környék átkutatását, ebbe drónokat is bevontak, a keresés vízről és szárazföldről egy időben zajlott.
Nem sokkal később egy férfi holttestét találták meg Verőcétől délre a Duna-parton, majd órákkal később egy női holttestet is találtak a Megyeri hídnál a Dunán, továbbá találtak egy sérült motorcsónakot is.
A rendőrök azt is megállapították, hogy az érintett időszakban a térségben egy szállodahajó tartózkodott, amelyet Komáromnál megállítottak, és megállapították, hogy az oldala sérült.
Jelenleg a rendőrség a szállodahajó és a géphajó (motorcsónak) esetében is szemlét tart.
A BRFK az ügyben a vízi közlekedés több ember halálát okozó veszélyeztetésének gyanúja miatt indított büntetőeljárást ismeretlen tettes ellen. A motorcsónakon nyolc felnőtt tartózkodott, akik közül ötöt – három férfit és két nőt – jelenleg is nagy erőkkel keresnek.
A folyamatban lévő nyomozásba informatikai és hajózási szakértőket is bevontak. A nyomozás célja annak megállapítása, hogy terhel-e bárkit büntetőjogi felelősség a baleset bekövetkeztéért – tudatta a rendőrség.

Elsüllyedt egy tanzániai hajó szombaton a Fekete-tengeren, a legénység 11 tagjából nyolcat kimentettek, hárman eltűntek, őket helikopterrel keresik – írta a román tengerészeti hatóság tájékoztatása alapján az Agerpres hírügynökség.
A tanzániai zászló alatt közlekedő Mohammad Z hajó hajnalban süllyedt el 26 tengeri mérföldre a Tulcea megyei Szent György kikötőtől.
A hajnali 4 órakor leadott riasztás után a tengeri mentésért felelős központ két hajót küldött a helyszínre, és a határrendészet segítségét is kérte, mely újabb két hajóval segítette a mentést. Az akcióban két, a közelben elhaladó kereskedelmi hajót is részt vett. A helikoptert a védelmi minisztérium bocsátotta rendelkezésre.
A tanzániai hajón kilenc szíriai és 2 egyiptomi állampolgár tartózkodott, az eltűntek mind szíriaiak. A baleset oka egyelőre nem ismert, a vizsgálat folyamatban van.
