В американському штаті Каліфорнія стрімко поширюється масштабна лісова пожежа, яка вже охопила територію 607 гектарів.

Полум’я виявлено у малонаселеному районі Біг-Сур уздовж узбережжя центральної Каліфорнії. Як повідомляється, сильний вітер виштовхує вогонь до моря, полум’я було видно неподалік одного з найвищих залізобетонних мостів у світі Біксбі-Крік. Влада вже закрила один із автобанів штату через стихійне лихо.
Наразі пожежники приблизно з 13 відомств штату працюють над тим, щоб загасити пожежу.
Ще два дні тому полум’ям охопили близько 40 гектарів лісу.

Зливи та сильний вітер спричинив так званий атмосферний потік, який являє собою довгу й широку масу вологого повітря, що наступає з Тихого океану. За прогнозами, у найближчі дні цей потік рухатиметься на південь. Подекуди на західному узбережжі може випасти до 25 см опадів, поінформував метеоролог Марк Ченард із Національної метеорологічної служби.
Повідомлялося про повені в районі затоки Сан-Франциско та перекриття вулиць у Берклі. Станом на ранок неділі за попередні 12 годин на горі Тамальпаїс, на північ від Сан-Франциско, випало понад 15 см дощу, повідомляє метеорологічна служба у Twitter.
В окрузі Б’ютт, приблизно за 240 км на північ, поліція Каліфорнії через зсуви перекрила дорогу державного значення. Негода прийшла вслід за наймасштабнішими лісовими пожежами в історії штату й збільшує ризик виникнення раптових повеней. За даними Обсерваторії засухи США, більша частина регіону потерпає через сильні, екстремальні або виняткові посухи. Вода в спалених регіонах стікає швидше, тому їм загрожує найбільший ризик виникнення раптових повеней.
На гірських територіях площею 230 670 гектарів на північний схід від Сан-Франциско, які були охоплені другою за величиною лісовою пожежею в історії Каліфорнії, неодноразово виникали зсуви.
Пориви вітру швидкістю понад 97 км/год. спричинили відключення електроенергії в Сан-Франциско та на його околицях. На фотографіях, опублікованих мешканцями в соцмережах, видно стовпи електромереж, які впали на авто та дороги. На цій території прогнозують до 13 см опадів.
У деяких населених пунктах місцева влада закликає жителів до евакуації: «Якщо ви відчуваєте загрозу, не вагайтеся. Якщо ви пропустите потрібний момент, перейдіть до більш високого району».
У Сакраменто роздали мішки з піском і відкрили центри евакуації. Місцева служба з ліквідації наслідків стихійного лиха закликала мешканців бути обережними.
За прогнозом метеорологів, у вищих районах очікується снігопад. У понеділок циклон буде поступово переміщатися на південь, до Центральної Каліфорнії.

На півдні Каліфорнії, поблизу Лос-Анджелеса, у місті Калабасас пума напала на п’ятирічного малюка, який грався біля будинку, повідомила місцева влада в суботу.
Тварина напала на хлопчика, що грався біля свого дому. Життя дитини врятувала його мати. Почувши крик сина, вона вибігла з будинку й почала бити 30-кілограмового хижака руками та ногами.
Пума протягла хлопчика приблизно 40 м і відпустила. Дитину з важкими травмами верхньої частини тіла та голови доставили до лікарні. Стан хлопчика стабільний.
Цей випадок стався в четвер. Пізніше місцевий мисливець застрелив пуму неподалік від місця події. Аналіз ДНК показав, що саме ця тварина напала на дитину. Ще одну пуму приспали, але згодом відпустили, переконавшись, що вона не має стосунку до інциденту.

У штаті Каліфорнія (США) двоє озброєних осіб відкрили вогонь по автобусу Party Bus. Унаслідок нападу двоє людей загинули, п’ятеро зазнали поранень, повідомляють місцеві ЗМІ.
В автобусі, який рухався із Сан-Франциско в напрямку Окленда, відзначали 21-й день народження молодої жінки. Невідомі відкрили вогонь по транспортному засобу з автомобіля, інформує East Bay Times.
За інформацією правоохоронців, зловмисники переслідували автобус, який звернув із шосе, і продовжували стріляти по ньому навіть на території міста. Вони здійснили загалом близько 70 пострілів.
Дорожня поліція Каліфорнії вважає, що це не випадковий злочин.
І загиблі, і поранені – молоді жінки. Одну жертву доставили до лікарні в критичному стані. Жінка, яка відзначала день народження, була поранена в ногу.
