За повідомленням видання Reuters, у вівторок, 23 січня, Служба боротьби зі злочинністю у Нідерландах заарештувала трьох осіб за підозрою в незаконному експорті технологічного та лабораторного обладнання, яке могло використовуватися у військових цілях в росії.
Підозрювані – двоє чоловіків віком 56 і 57 років з Дімена та Гааги, а також 54-річна жінка з Гааги, які нібито були причетні до міжнародної контрабанди. За даними слідства, зареєстрована в Нідерландах торгова компанія, до якої заарештовані можуть бути причетні, купувала обладнання в Європі й транспортувала його до росії через країни Східної Європи. Такий експорт голландська влада вважає незаконним, оскільки ЄС запровадив санкції щодо росії після повномасштабного вторгнення в Україну.
Повідомляється, що обшуки та допити були проведені також у Німеччині, Латвії, Литві та Канаді. Операцію підтримав європейський орган прокуратури Євроюст.

Про це Блер сказав у п’ятницю, виступаючи на відкритті Міжнародного безпекового форуму в Галіфаксі, повідомляє „Європейська правда„.
Міністр вказав, що в нього викликають „значне занепокоєння” повідомлення про ймовірний продаж із Канади до росії підсанкційних технологій, хоча ситуація зі Skycope Technologies ще потребує перевірки.
„Це питання, яке будуть розслідувати наші правоохоронні органи й служби національної безпеки та розвідки. І якщо порушення санкцій, які ми запровадили справді мало місце, існують юридичні процедури, які можуть бути застосовані”, – додав він.
Блер уточнив, що не може коментувати, про які саме процедури може йтись, до проведення розслідування, „але я хочу запевнити вас, що ми ставимося до цього питання дуже серйозно”.
У четвер російський портал „Агентство”, пов’язаний із російським розслідувальним медіа „Проект”, повідомив про придбання „МИРЭА” радара-детектора для виявлення безпілотників SkyEye канадської компанії Skycope Technologies за 4,5 мільйона рублів (50 тисяч доларів).
Російський технологічний університет, згідно з даними сайту про державні закупівлі росії, оголосив тендер на SkyEye 11 травня, а отримав її вже 7 червня. Продукція Skycope Technologies має підпадати під санкції Канади проти росії.
У Skycope напередодні заявили, що не продавали свою продукцію російським клієнтам і вважають, що інформація про закупівлю може бути фейком або ж РФ викрала їхні технології.
Радар-детектор SkyEye може розпізнавати понад 330 моделей дронів на відстані до 35 кілометрів на відкритій місцевості та до 10 кілометрів у місті.

Китайський винищувач J-11 вистрілив сигнальними ракетами перед гелікоптером Військово-морських сил Канади над міжнародними водами Південнокитайського моря. Про це в п’ятницю, 3 жовтня, повідомляє CNN.
Канада назвала запуск китайським винищувачем сигнальних ракет по гелікоптеру Sikorsky Cyclone „безрозсудним” та зазначила, що така витівка могла призвести до аварії, оскільки „ракети могли потрапити в лопаті опорного гвинта або двигуни”.
Атакований гелікоптер базується на фрегаті Ottawa. Це вже другий випадок такого зближення для літаків цього корабля з китайським J-11. Минулого разу, який відбувся 29 жовтня, винищувачі Китаю пройшли на відстань близько 30 метрів від гелікоптера.
За словами пілота атакованого гелікоптера, раніше він вже мав досвід уникнення небезпечної поведінки з боку китайських пілотів, які намагались створити турбулентність навколо його літака. Під час інциденту йому довелося вивести гелікоптер на надмалу висоту.
„Така поведінка є неприйнятною в жодному разі, і ми висловимо це Китайській Народній Республіці у найбільш прийнятний спосіб”, – заявив міністр оборони Білл Блер.

Лісові пожежі загрожують новим районам на півночі Канади, тому тисячі людей знову змушені покинути свої домівки.
Уряд Північно-Західних територій країни прийняв рішення евакуювати все населення Хей-Рівера через лісові пожежі, пише MTI.
Влада закликала жителів цього невеликого містечка на березі Славонського озера прибути до аеропорту й чекати на подальші інструкції. Населення Хей-Рівера становить близько чотирьох тисяч осіб.
У своїй заяві уряд Північно-Західних територій попередив мешканців, що вони можуть залишатися в місті, звідки були евакуйовані служби екстреної допомоги, на власний страх і ризик.
Цього року Канада постраждала від особливо сильних лісових пожеж, унаслідок яких минулого тижня довелося евакуювати понад 50 000 людей, у тому числі все населення Єллоунайфа, столиці Північно-Західних територій.

Жителів регіону Північно-Західні території, що на крайній півночі Канади, евакуювали повітряним шляхом через масштабні лісові пожежі.
З малонаселеної частини країни вивезли 15% мешканців – близько 6 тисяч осіб. Цього року тут сталося 265 лісових пожеж, що набагато більше, ніж у середньому за останнє десятиліття (185). Після того як у понеділок полум’я наблизилося до центру Північно-Західних територій – міста Єллоунайф (за 450 км на південь від Полярного кола) з 20-тисячним населенням – у регіоні було оголошено надзвичайний стан.
З початку сезону рекордних лісових пожеж по всій Канаді евакуювали 168 тисяч людей. Вогонь знищив 130 000 кв. км рослинності, завдав шкоди матеріальним цінностям та життєво важливій інфраструктурі.
На Північно-Західних територіях, де відстань між населеними пунктами може сягати сотень кілометрів, було б важко провести евакуацію наземним шляхом, тому жителів доставляють у безпечні місця повітрям. У цьому допомагають 120 військових. Дим на дорогах, який утворився через пожежі, робить рух транспорту практично неможливим.
У сусідній провінції Британська Колумбія, де також у багатьох місцях горить рослинність, денна температура вперше перевищила 40° С. У вівторок у місті Літтон зафіксували 41,4° С.

Аварія трапилась неподалік міста Карбері. В автобусі, що прямував до місцевого казино, знаходилось 25 людей. Пасажири були переважно літнього віку.
Унаслідок зіткнення 15 людей загинули. Ще десятеро дістали поранення і були госпіталізовані з травмами різного ступеня тяжкості. Водії обох транспортних засобів вижили, їм надають медичну допомогу.

У вівторок Управління з надзвичайних ситуацій Канади розпорядилося про обов’язкову евакуацію в Бедфорді, Нова Шотландія, після того, як стало відомо про нову лісову пожежу та ризик витоку аміаку в регіоні, повідомляє CBC News.
Раніше надзвичайний стан було оголошено в провінції Альберта після того, як через безпрецедентні лісові пожежі десятки тисяч людей були змушені покинути свої домівки.
Очікується, що лісові пожежі в Галіфаксі значно погіршать якість повітря за сотні миль на південь уздовж східного узбережжя та Середнього Заходу США. Національна метеорологічна служба США (NWS) видала попередження про забруднення повітря в частинах штатів Мічиган, Огайо та Пенсільванія, а також у Нью-Джерсі та Нью-Йорку, де очікуються високі концентрації забруднюючих речовин.
