Az Egyesült Királyság védelmi minisztériumát hekkertámadás érte. A parlamenti képviselők kedden adnak tájékoztatást a szolgálati személyzetet érintő súlyos adatvédelmi incidensről.
A Sky News értesülései szerint Kína hekkertámadást indíthatott a brit védelmi minisztérium ellen. A kínai államot két vagy három, a védelmi minisztérium alkalmazottait – köztük a személyi állományt – érintő hekkerkísérlettel fogják vádolni.
A kibertámadás egy bérszámfejtő rendszert ért, nagyrészt nevek és banki adatok kerültek nyilvánosságra. A rendszer nem kapcsolódik a Védelmi Minisztérium fő számítógépes rendszereihez, ezért a rendszer leállt, és megkezdték a felülvizsgálatát.
A Védelmi Minisztérium az elmúlt 72 órában gőzerővel dolgozott azon, hogy megértse a támadás mértékét, és reméli, hogy a szolgálatot teljesítő személyzet nem aggódik a biztonságuk miatt.

Az eset Csaotung város kórházában történt. A Weibo kínai közösségi portálon megjelentek olyan videók, amelyeken látható, amint a rendőrök elfogják a gyanúsítottat, aki szemtanúk elmondása szerint kést használt a támadáshoz.
Hivatalosan még nem közölték a halálos áldozatok számát, illetve hogy az elkövető milyen fegyvert használt. Sajtóhírek szerint orvosok is vannak az áldozatok között.
Kínában az utóbbi években többször előfordultak késsel elkövetett vérengzések, jellemzően óvodákban és iskolákban. Ezekben az esetekben a pszichésen sérült elkövetők egyedül cselekedtek, motivációjukat pedig a hatóságok sokszor nem tudták kideríteni. Legutóbb tavaly júliusban késelt meg egy férfi három felnőttet és három gyereket egy óvodában Kuangtung tartományban.

Kína déli részében rendkívüli időjárási viszonyok uralkodnak, amelyek következtében Kuangtung tartományban egy több mint 1700 fős város evakuálásra került. A Shaoguan régióban fekvő település lakóit buszokkal és helikopterekkel szállították biztonságos helyre az áradások miatt. A helyi média beszámolói szerint a térségben soha nem tapasztalt esőzések és jégesők pusztítottak, amelyek sárcsuszamlásokat okoztak, elárasztották a lakóházakat, hidakat döntöttek, valamint az elektromos vezetékek és a mobiltelefon-hálózatok megszakadásához vezettek.
A viharok április óta több csapadékrekordot is megdöntöttek a tartományban. A héten több videó is megjelent, ahogy a tartományi fővárosban, Kantonban az emberek döbbenettel figyelték, ahogy a szél ereje orkánerejűvé válik, fákat tépve ki gyökerestül a földből.
Az aktuális viharokat az El Nino időjárási jelenség és egy erős szubtrópusi magasnyomású rendszer kombinációja okozta, amely extra nedvességet vonzott a Dél-kínai-tenger és a Bengáli-öböl felől. Ez jelentős mennyiségű eső és erős szelek formájában nyilvánult meg. A meteorológusok szerint ezek az időjárási körülmények további esőzéseket és szeleket hozhatnak a régióba.

Az elmúlt napokban a dél-kínai Kuangtung tartomány számos részén heves esőzések pusztítottak, ami három ember halálát és tizenegy eltűnését eredményezte, valamint több mint 100 ezer embert kellett kitelepíteni a térségben – számoltak be a helyi hatóságok hétfőn.
A három halálesetet Csaocsingből jelentették. Vasárnap földcsuszamlásokban is többen megsérültek. A keresési és mentési munkálatok még tartanak.
A szakadó esőzések csütörtök óta sújtják Kuangtung tartományt, felduzzasztva a folyókat a Gyöngy-folyó deltájában, és áradásokat okozva a hegyvidéki területeken.
A dél-kínai tartományban eddig mintegy 110 ezer embert telepítettek ki a folyamatos esőzések miatt.
A térségben időjárási figyelmeztetést adtak ki, heves viharokra hívták fel a figyelmet a tengerparti területeken. A CCTV kínai állami televízió a hidrológiai hivatalt idézve azt mondta, hogy a Pej folyó medencéjében három településen „olyan áradások lesznek, mint amilyeneket egy évszázadban egyszer látni a heves esőzések hatására”.

Bill Nelson, a NASA első embere a képviselőház költségvetési bizottsága előtt tett beszámolója során aggodalmának adott hangot a kínai űrprogram kettős természetével kapcsolatban. Nelson szerint ugyanis erős bizonyítékok utalnak arra, hogy Kína állítólagosan polgári célú űrtevékenységei katonai célokat is szolgálhatnak.
„Úgy gondoljuk, hogy az általuk civil űrprogramnak nevezett projektek nagy része valójában katonai program”, fogalmazott Nelson. Nelson külön kitért a kínai űrtechnológia elmúlt évtizedben mutatott gyors fejlődésére, az általuk megvalósított fejlesztéseket azonban egyszerre tartja lenyűgözőnek és titokzatosnak.
A NASA vezetője szerint az Egyesült Államoknak továbbra is éberen kell figyelnie, hogy ne veszítse el stratégiai előnyét az űrkutatás és az űrbiztonság terén. Az egyre erősödő aggodalmak szerint ugyanis Kína kihasználhatja űrkutatási eredményeit területi követelések érvényesítésére, különösen a Hold nyersanyagokban gazdag területeivel kapcsolatban.
Ezen aggodalmak komolyságát fokozzák a két nemzet által a holdkutatásra kitűzött, egymással versengő határidők. Az Egyesült Államok 2026-ban tervezi az Artemis III küldetés elindítását, amelynek célja, hogy amerikai űrhajósokat juttasson vissza a Holdra, míg Kína 2030-as határidővel hajtana végre hasonló küldetést. Nelson hangsúlyozta, hogy az Egyesült Államoknak mielőbb el kell érnie holdi célkitűzéseit, hogy megelőzze Kína esetleges területi követeléseit.
Mivel a meghallgatáson a NASA 2025-ös költségvetése volt a fő téma, Nelson azt is egyértelművé tette, hogy amennyiben nem szeretnének hátrányba kerülni, jelentős erőforrásokat kell megmozgatni, hiszen, mint mondta: „Reálisan kell látnunk a dolgokat. Kína rengeteg pénzt költött az űrprogramokra, és még mindig jelentős erőforrás áll rendelkezésükre a költségvetésükben. Véleményem szerint jobb, ha nem hagyjuk magunkat lerázni.”

Szombaton felborult egy hajó Észak-Kína Hopej tartományában, ami 12 ember halálát okozta.
A szombat délután, Taolinkou település közelében történt hajóbaleset idején összesen 31 ember tartózkodott a fedélzeten. A jelentések szerint a vízi jármű egy illegálisan átalakított turistahajó volt.
Tulajdonosát és a személyzetet őrizetbe vette a rendőrség, a baleset okának kivizsgálása folyamatban van. Az English News arról írt, hogy a baleset után hat embernek is nyoma veszett, ám a hatóságok vasárnap közölték, hogy megtalálták őket épségben.
A Global Times beszámolója szerint a turisták többsége idős volt, mentőmellény nem volt rajtuk. A baleset után a helyszínre összesen 31 tűzoltóautót, 144 tűzoltót, négy mentőcsónakot és 13 gumicsónakot küldtek.
Mint írták, Taolinkou település 2008 óta népszerű turisztikai célpont. Állítólag a faluban szinte minden családnak van egy csónakja, amelyet a csúcsidőszakokban bérbe adnak a turistáknak.

Erős szélviharok, esőzések és néhol jégesők dúlnak a dél-kínai Csianghszi tartományban, ahol az ítéletidő következtében hét ember vesztette életét, és több ezer lakás sérült meg – közölte szerdán a CCTV kínai állami televízió a tartományi katasztrófavédelem adataira hivatkozva.
A szélsőséges időjárás vasárnap kezdődött, kilenc várost, köztük Nancsangot és Csiucsiangot sújtotta leginkább, 54 megyében 93 ezer embert érintett – közölte Csianghszi tartomány árvízvédelmi központja.
A hatóságok szerdán közölték, hogy a tartományban eddig hét ember halt meg, médiajelentések szerint közülük hárman úgy vesztették életüket, hogy a széllökések ablakkal együtt kiszakították őket magasan lévő lakásukból. A hatóságok még vizsgálják, ez hogyan volt lehetséges, de egy épület 20. emeleti lakói közül az egyik szerint családtagjainak is kapaszkodniuk kellett a lakásban az erős szél miatt.
A golflabda méretű jégesővel kísért hatalmas esők és szélviharok az elmúlt több mint egy évtized legpusztítóbb viharai, a helyi hatóságok szerint körülbelül 150 millió jüan gazdasági kárt okoztak.
A kínai meteorológiai intézet heves, a helyi skálán a 12-es fokozatot is elérő szélviharokra adott ki figyelmeztetést, ez első kategóriájú tájfunnak felel meg.
Az ilyen erősségű szelek gyakoriak Kínában és Kelet-Ázsia más részein, de ritkán fordulnak elő a szárazföldön, például a tengerparttal nem rendelkező Csianghszi tartományban. 2013 óta ez az első narancssárga, legsúlyosabb figyelmeztetés szélsőséges időjárásra a térségben.
