A kolumbiai mentők az idő ellenében dolgoznak, hogy megmentsenek 14 szénbányászt, akik hétfő óta egy bányaszerencsétlenség után a föld alatt rekedtek és az életbenmaradásért küzdenek.
Különböző gázok felgyülemlése okozta a robbanást, ami elvágta a bányászokat a külvilágtól.
A robbanás kiterjedt hulláma a felszínen ért egy bányászt, aki azóta belehalt az általa szerzett égési sérülésekbe.
A bányászati balesetek nem ritkák Kolumbiában, 2021-ben 148 halálesetet regisztráltak.
A bányászok hozzátartozói virrasztást tartottak egy kis patak partján, nem messze a bánya bejáratától.
Kétségbe vagyunk esve, de reménykedünk, hogy életben vannak – mondta az egyik feleség az RCN rádiónak.
A regionális bányászati titkár, Jhon Olivares nyilatkozta, hogy 200 méterrel a föld alatt vannak, míg néhány helyi média arról számolt be, hogy akár 300 méter mélyen is lehetnek.
A bányát 2021-ben bezárták a magas gázkoncentráció miatt, de 2022. május 19-én engedélyt kaptak az újranyitásra, tehát legálisan működik – folytatta a titkár.
A mentési munkálatokat a felgyülemlett gáz és a heves esőzések is nehezítették – írja a BBC.
A robbanás olyan erős volt, hogy 15 méterre az alagút bejáratától lángok csaptak fel, amik elnyelték Fabio Cácerest, a 37 éves bányászt, aki azóta meghalt.
A mérnökök dolgoznak az aknák szellőztetésén, a mentőknek eddig 150 métert sikerült előrehaladniuk. A kolumbiai polgárvédelmi erők éjjel-nappal dolgoznak a bányászok kiszabadításán.

A házasok a Decameron Baru Hotelben szállt meg, ahová a támadók jet skivel érkeztek a szálloda privát strandjára, majd rálőtték a párra. A fegyveresek egy biztonsági őrre is rálőttek, ő nem sérült meg. Aguilera sértetlenül úszta meg a támadást. Később elmondta, hogy az egyik támadó kétszer lőtt rá férjére, egyszer az arcába, egyszer pedig a hátába. Kedden késő délután a kolumbiai rendőrség közzétette az egyik feltételezett gyilkos fényképét.
Az újdonsült feleség nemrégiben olyan fotókat osztott meg a közösségi médiában, amelyek őt és Peccit mutatják a karibi Baru-félszigeten, utolsó bejegyzésében egy cipővel üzent meg követőinek, hogy babát vár.
A Paraguayi Ügyészek Szövetségének elnöke, Augusto Salas kijelentette: ahogyan a gyilkosok kivégeztek áldozatukat, az maffiára jellemző. A kolumbiai védelmi miniszter, Diego Molano közölte, hogy nyomozóegységet küldtek Cartagenába. A focista 2020 márciusa és augusztusa között rács mögé került, mert hamisított adatokkal beutazott Paraguayba.
Mario Abdo Benítez paraguayi elnök a Twitter közösségi oldalon elítélte az ügyész gyalázatos meggyilkolását. A kolumbiai rendőrség igazgatója, Jorge Luis Vargas tábornok azt mondta, nem tudott arról, hogy Pecci Kolumbiában tartózkodott.

Az amerikai hadsereg támogatásával a kolumbiai biztonsági erők feltartóztattak a Karib-tengeren egy kábítószercsempészésre használt motorcsónakot, fedélzetén 3,4 tonna kokainnal – közölte a kolumbiai haditengerészet vasárnap.
A lefoglalt drog értékét több mint 120 millió dollárra (40 milliárd forint) becsülik.
A tájékoztatás szerint a kolumbiai légierő és haditengerészet az amerikai hadsereg közreműködésével tudta a gyanús motorcsónakot észlelni, amelyet a parti őrség gyorsreagálású erőinek egy vízihajszát követően a Kolumbiához tartozó San Andrés és Providencia szigetcsoporttól 220 kilométerre sikerült megállítaniuk.
A motorcsónak Kolumbiából indult Közép-Amerikába, legénységét – három nicaraguai és két Costa Rica-i állampolgárt – őrizetbe vették.
Kolumbia a világ egyik legnagyobb kokatermesztő országa. Közel 169 ezer hektáron termesztenek kokacserjét, amelynek szárított leveleit a perui és bolíviai indiánok évszázadok óta rágják élénkítőszerként. A levélből kivonható kokain azonban erős és illegális kábítószer. A legnagyobb mennyiséget ebből a drogból az Egyesült Államokba csempészik.

Több mint 300 milliárd (100 milliárd forintot) dollárt érő kokaint foglaltak le a kolumbiai hatóságok. Egy Ecuadorhoz közeli dzsungelben két laboratóriumot is találtak több mint 10 tonna kokainnal megpakolva.
A laboratóriumokat a Nemzeti Felszabadítási Hadsereg üzemeltette. Otoniel ellen még 2009-ben emeltek vádat az Egyesült Államokban, és ott is felelnie kell a bűneiért a kiadatását követően. A kolumbiai kormány a droghálózatot építő csoportot, amelyet főként kábítószer-kereskedelemből, illegális bányászatból és zsarolásból finanszíroznak, azzal vádolja, hogy a FARC gerillákkal 2016-ban kötött békeegyezmény aláírása óta tartó legsúlyosabb országos szintű erőszakhullám egyik fő mozgatórugója volt.

Noha 2017-ben a drogbáró hajlandó lett volna megállapodást kötni a kolumbiai igazságszolgáltatással, a kormány válaszul legalább 1000 katonát vezényelt ki a levadászására. Az utóbbi időben a klán létszámát megtizedelték, ami miatt a csoport feje dzsungelbe menekült, ahol telefonálni sem tudott.
2012–ig Juan de Diost, Otoniel testvére volt a klán első embere, akit végül megöltek a rendőrök. Ezután lépett színre Otoniel, aki szegény család gyermekeként jött világra, majd csatlakozott a Népi Felszabadító Hadsereghez, az EPL-hez, egy marxista gerillacsoporthoz.
Miután 1991-ben letette a fegyvert, később visszatért a harcokhoz és szélsőjobboldali félkatonai csoportokhoz csatlakozott. Annak ellenére, hogy ezen csoportok közül sok megszűnt a korábbi jobboldali elnök, Alvaro Uribe kormányának kezdeményezésére, Otoniel folytatta a harcot.

Napi ötszáz embert engednek át
A többnapos átkelés során – amikor gyakran ivóvizük sincs – kígyókkal, vízmosásokkal, trópusi esőkkel és a kábítószer-kereskedelemben tevékenykedő bűnözőkkel is találkozhatnak a szinte áthatolhatatlan erdőségben.
A panamai és a kolumbiai kormány abban állapodtak meg, hogy a napi ötszáz embert engednek át a határon, de ez elenyésző az érkezők számához képest, akik között sok a nő és a kisgyermek.
Júliusban 18 ezer bevándorló érkezett Panamába Kolumbiából a panamai kormány szerint. A kolumbiai bevándorlási hivatal tájékoztatása szerint több mint 27 ezer különböző állampolgárságú bevándorló – többségében haiti – lépett be illegálisan a latin-amerikai országba, többnyire az Ecuadorral közös határon.
Idén több mint 70 ezer ember – közöttük 13 ezer gyermek – kelt át Darién régión, annyi, mint az előző öt év alatt összesen.

Több ember életét veszélyeztette és legkevesebb tizenegy vájár meghalt a közép-kolumbiai Boyacá megye egyik szénbányájában bekövetkezett sújtólégrobbanásban – közölte kedden Henry Barrera, Topaga településének polgármestere, ahol a baleset történt.
A helyi sajtónak nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy egy bányászt még keresnek. Ellentmondó információk vannak arról, hogy hány ember volt érintett a robbanásban, amely kedd reggel történt a Bogotától 220 kilométerre északkeletre található topagai bányában.
A latin-amerikai ország bányászati minisztériuma Twitter-oldalán korábban nyolc halottról, négy eltűntről és egy sérültről számolt be. A Caracol helyi televíziócsatorna közlése szerint a bányászok 500 méteres mélységben voltak, amikor a felgyülemlett metángáz berobbant.

A közlemény szerint egy motorcsónakon fedezték fel a jelentősebb szállítmányt a panamai hatóságok, amikor a jármű kolumbiai vizekre úszott. A kolumbiai haditengerészet ezt követően vizsgálta át alaposan a nagyobb motorcsónakot.
