Roman Malik rejtélyes halálának körülményei egyelőre tisztázatlanok. Helyi sajtóhírek szerint Malikot felakasztva találták az otthonában. A hatóságok gyilkosság miatt indítottak nyomozást az ügyben, de nem zárták ki annak lehetőségét, hogy a férfi önkezével vethetett véget az életének. Családtagjai szerint azonban kizárt, hogy Malik öngyilkos lett volna – írja a Euro Weekly News orosz forrásokra hivatkozva.
Sajtóértesülések szerint Roman Malik részt vett a csecsen hadjáratokban, majd különböző beosztásokban dolgozott a hadkiegészítő parancsnokságon, haláláig a toborzóiroda vezetője volt. Malik állítólag Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök közeli munkatársa volt.

Holtan találta édesanyja a 14 éves Leon Brownt a szobájában. A nő először nem tudta, mi történt a skót fiúval, később azonban kiderült, hogy ő is részt vett a fiatalok körében elterjedt, halálos kihívásban – írja a New York Post.
Mi is az áramszünet kihívás és miért rettentően veszélyes?
A „blackout challenge” kihívást jelent a felhasználók számára, hogy lássák, mennyi ideig bírják lélegzet-visszafojtva. Ez alacsony oxigénszintet okozhat az agyban, ami görcsrohamokhoz, súlyos sérülésekhez vagy halálhoz vezethet. Egy olasz kislány pár éve azért vesztette életét, mert egy övet kötött a nyaka köré a kihívás részeként. Ez a veszélyes trend már több mint egy évtizede terjed az interneten, és amerikai adatok szerint csaknem száz gyermek halálát okozta.
Jelentések szerint a TikTokon terjedő kihívást több 10 és 14 év közötti gyermek halálával is összefüggésbe hozták az Egyesült Államokban, Ausztráliában, Olaszországban és az Egyesült Királyságban is.
Néhány héttel ezelőtt szintén egy brit tinédzser, a 12 éves Archie Battersbee halálát okozta a próbatétel.
A napokban elhunyt kisfiú édesanyja, Lauryn elmondta: „Leon egyik barátja elárulta, hogy a kihívást Facetime-on keresztül csinálták, miután a fiam látta TikTokon. Az én Leonom úgy gondolta, hogy ő lesz az, aki először kipróbálja.”
Az összetört édesanya a fiú történetén keresztül szeretné felhívni a szülők figyelmét arra, hogy milyen veszélyes dolgokkal találkozhatnak a gyerekek az interneten.
A szörnyű esetet követően a TikTok részvétét fejezte ki Keating családjának, és azt írta: „Közösségünk biztonsága a prioritásunk, és nagyon komolyan veszünk minden, veszélyes kihívással kapcsolatos állítást”.
A kínai tulajdonú videómegosztó közösségi hálózat nyilatkozatában hozzátette, hogy szigorúan tiltja az ilyen jellegű tartalmakat.

Életét vesztette Ravil Maganov, Oroszország második legnagyobb olajvállalatának, a Lukoil igazgatótanácsának elnöke, egyben a cég alelnöke csütörtökön – írja a Reuters.
A baleset Moszkvában történt a brit hírügynökség beszámolója szerint. Maganov egy kórház ablakán esett ki, orosz sajtóértesülések szerint a hatodik emeletről. Az orosz sajtó egy része öngyilkosságként, egy másik véletlen balesetként kezeli a balesetet. Maganov a kórház egy olyan részlegén esett ki a hatodik emeletről, ahol sajtóértesülések szerint nincsenek térfigyelő kamerák – vagyis az, hogy pontosan mi történt vele, egyelőre nem tudni. Az orosz portálok közül azok, amik balesetként hivatkoznak Maganov halálára azt írják, hogy a férfi cigarettázni ment ki az erkélyre, onnan esett le.
Az orosz sajtó szerint Maganov szívbeteg volt, rutinvizsgálatra érkezett a kórházba.
Maganov 67 éves volt, halálát a Lukoil egyelőre nem kommentálta.
Maganov 1993 óta dolgozott a Lukoilnak, nem sokkal a vállalat alapítása után került a céghez. Testvére, Nail Maganov a Tatneft nevű orosz olajipari vállalatot vezeti. Ravil Maganov azzal a Vagit Alekperovval dolgozott együtt hosszan, akivel szemben Nagy-Britannia szankciókat is hozott a háborúban játszott szerepe miatt: befagyasztották a vagyonát és beutazási tilalmat rendeltek el vele szemben.
Nem Maganov az első olyan orosz üzletember, aki az Ukrajna elleni invázió február 24-i indulása óta rejtélyes módon veszti életét: Szergej Protoszenyja, a Novatek gázipari cég egykori alelnöke és főkönyvelője például Barcelonához közel halt meg, rájuk egy kötélen lógva bukkantak, a házban ott volt az üzletember feleségének és lányának is a holtteste.
Nagyon hasonló körülmények között halt meg az 51 éves Vlagyiszlav Avajev, aki a Gazprombank alelnöke volt. Őt lelőtték, moszkvai lakásában találtak rá. A gyilkosa végzett feleségével és 13 éves lányával is. A Gazprom egy másik menedzsere, Alekszandr Tyuljakov már február 25-én meghalt, őt felakasztva találták meg Szentpéterváron.
Májusban szintén rejtélyes körülmények között halt meg a Lukoil volt topmenedzsere, Alekszandr Szubbotin: a milliárdos holttestét egy sámán lakásának alagsorában találták meg Moszkva közelében, ahol állítólag jamaikai vuduszertartásokat végeztek. A halál oka hivatalosan szívelégtelenség volt, orosz hírforrások szerint Szubbotin súlyosan ittasan, bedrogozva ment a sámánhoz.
Márciusban találták meg Vaszilij Melnyikov milliárdos holttestét Nyizsnyij Novgorodban, a luxusvillájában, aki a hatóságok szerint halálra késelte a feleségét és két fiát, majd öngyilkos lett.
Az orosz állami vezetés azonban nem csak gyilkossággal áll bosszút azokon, akik ellenzik az Ukrajna elleni háborút: Oleg Tinkof az egyik legnagyobb orosz bank, a Tinkoff alapítója. Az üzletember vagyonát 9 milliárd dollárra taksálták. Vagyona azonban gyorsan megcsappant, miután április 19-én éles hangon állt ki Ukrajna mellett. Posztjából komoly felháborodás lett, április 20-án pedig a kormányzat emberei azzal keresték meg őt, hogy államosítani fogják bankját.

Holtan találtak rendelőjében pénteken egy osztrák orvost, aki halálos fenyegetéseket kapott oltásellenesektől és összeesküvés-elméletek terjesztőitől, miután sokat szerepelt a médiában a koronavírus-járvánnyal kapcsolatban és az interjúkban a védőoltás mellett érvelt.
A hatóságok közlése szerint a felső-ausztriai Lisa-Maria Kellermayr öngyilkosságot követett el vöcklaburgi rendelőjében, búcsúleveleket is hagyott maga után.
Az orvosnő korábban arról számolt be a honlapján, hogy hónapok óta megtorlással fenyegetik megnyilatkozásai miatt olyanok, akik ellenzik a járványügyi korlátozásokat és elutasítják a védőoltást. Halálos fenyegetéseket is kapott.
A fenyegetések miatt Kellermayr hosszabb időre rendőrségi védelmet kapott, de saját maga is 100 ezer eurót költött a biztonságára. Júniusban rendelője ideiglenes, majd július közepén végleges bezárását jelentette be, mondván, hogy senkinek sem kívánja azokat a munkakörülményeket, amelyek között az utóbbi hónapokban dolgoznia kellett.
Az osztrák közvéleményt sokkoló halálhírre reagálva vezető politikusok nemzeti egységre szólítottak fel. „Vessünk véget a megfélemlítésnek és a félelemkeltésnek! A gyűlöletnek és az intoleranciának nincs helye Ausztriában” – hangoztatta Alexander Van der Bellen köztársasági elnök. Az államfő felidézte, hogy az emberek fertőzéstől való védelmén, gyógyításán dolgozó orvost előbb az interneten, majd személyesen, a rendelőjében is megfenyegették.
A fenyegetések miatt indult eljárásban az osztrák ügyészség júniusban lezárta a vizsgálatot egy német állampolgárságú gyanúsított ügyében arra hivatkozva, hogy a német hatóságok az illetékesek. Az osztrák rendőrség ismeretlen személyek ellen vitte tovább a nyomozást.

A trió holttestét egy felborult autóban találták meg az ország délnyugati részén, Dél-Jeolla tartományban, egy Wando szigetének partjainál fekvő tóban. Cho és édesanyja biztonsági öv nélkül ültek hátul, míg édesapja a vezetőülésen ült, bekötött biztonsági övvel.

Cho május 19. és június 15. között 18 tanítási napon át hiányzott a gwangjui iskolából, mivel szülei egy hónapos Jeju-szigeti kirándulás miatt kikérték őt az iskolából. A család azonban soha nem jutott el Jeju szigetére. Ehelyett különös módon, ismeretlen okokból egy hétig Wandón maradtak. Miután Cho nem vett részt az órákon, és néhány napig nem volt elérhető, az iskolája június 22-én jelentette az esetet a rendőrségnek. A rendőrök felkeresték a lány otthonát, és egy postaládát találtak, amely tele volt levelekkel. A levelek nagy része kifizetetlen hitelkártya-számlákból állt.

Számos médiatársaság felvetette, hogy a duó a LUNAC befektetője lehetett. A közelmúltbeli Terra Luna okozta tömeges öngyilkossági hullámot figyelembe véve nem érhet minket meglepetésként ez a feltételezés.
A Gwangju Nambu rendőrkapitányság tisztviselői azonban július 1-jén a Yonhap hírügynökség szerint bejelentették, hogy bár igaz, hogy a pár „tucatnyi eszközbe, köztük bitcoinba” fektetett be, a Terra ökoszisztéma „amire a pár az eltűnésük előtt az interneten keresett, nem szerepelt a tranzakciós előzményeik között”.
Az azonban egyértelmű, hogy halálukat a kriptovalutákkal kapcsolatos őrületes tevékenység előzte meg.
A rendőrség tisztviselői kifejtették, hogy a duó „tucatnyi” be- és kifizetést hajtott végre egy meg nem nevezett hazai kriptotőzsdén idén március és május között. Úgy tűnik, hogy a páros közel 85 000 dollár értékben adta el érméit fiatért, miután három hónap alatt több mint 15 000 dolláros veszteséget szenvedtek el.
Információink alapján a dél-koreai család számos nehézséggel küzdött az utóbbi időben. Az édesapa, aki munkanélküli volt, nemrég egy kisvállalkozást is bezárt. 35 éves felesége pedig nemrégiben altatót kapott egy, a család Gwangju városában lévő otthonához közeli orvosi klinikán, miután álmatlanságra panaszkodott. A realitysztár Kailia Posey a Toddlers & Tiaras, azaz az Apró szépségek című tévéműsorban még gyerekként vált népszerűvé, hétfőn saját kezével vetett véget életének. Jellegzetes gyerekkori mosolyából mém lett, világszerte ismerik a róla készült elhíresült képsorokat.

Tavaly ősszel hatalmas botrány kerekedett az akkor még Facebook néven futó Meta körül, miután kiszivárgott, hogy a belsős felmérések szerint is komoly mentális károkat okoz a tinédzsereknek a vállalat szárnyai alá tartozó Instagram platform.
A vállalat körül azóta is vizsgálódnak az amerikai törvényhozók és több állam ügyészsége is, most pedig egy újabb eset világít rá a közösségi média veszélyeire. A connecticuti Tammy Rodriguez ugyanis beperelte a Metát és a Snapchatet a 11 éves lánya öngyilkossága miatt, mivel úgy véli, hogy a közösségi platformoknak kulcsszerepük volt a tragédiában.
Az áldozat, Selena Rodriguez tavaly nyáron vetett véget az életének, azt megelőzően viszont már több mint két éve súlyos közösségi média-függő volt, s főként az Instagramon és a Snapchaten lógott. Az öngyilkosságához vezető hónapokban súlyos alváshiányban és depresszióban szenvedett.
Habár elvileg mindkét platform tiltja a 13 év alattiak csatlakozását, az anya szerint a szülői felügyeleti eszközök és az igazán hatékony korlátozások híján gyakorlatilag lehetetlen volt távol tartani tőlük a lányt.
A felperes egy ambuláns pszichológus szakvéleményét is csatolta, aki úgy fogalmazott, hogy soha nem látott még ilyen erős függőséget. Selena állapota miatt állítólag már nem működött volna az internetképes eszközök megvonása sem, mivel fennállt a veszélye, hogy a lány egyszerűen elszökik, csak hogy használhassa a szolgáltatásokat.
Az anya szerint ebben kulcsszerepet játszott a közösségi média tudatosan alkalmazott, nyerőgéphez hasonlóan kiszámíthatatlan jutalmazási rendszere (pl. értesítések, követések, kedvelések), amire a fejlődés korai szakaszában járó fiatalok még a szerencsejáték-függőknél is fogékonyabbak.
Nem Tammy Rodriguez az egyetlen aki úgy véli, hogy a közösségi média pszichotrükkök hadával teszi függővé a felhasználókat: a kritikus szakértők évek óta igyekeznek felhívni a figyelmet a jelenségre, 2020-ban pedig a szélesebb közvéleményben is nagyot ment a téma Netlfix Társadalmi dilemma című dokumentumfilmje miatt.
Ha a bíróság tárgyalásra bocsátja, a Rodriguez V Meta, Snap ügy vélhetően arról szól majd, hogy kizárólag a szülők felelősek-e a gyerekek közösségi média-használatának korlátozásáért, és hogy a cégek minden rendelkezésükre álló eszközt bevetnek-e a kiskorúak távoltartásához. Az anya több tételben (pl. a lány orvosi kezelésének költségeiért és a saját fájdalmáért) követel kártérítést, az összegek meghatározását viszont a későbbi tárgyalástól teszi függővé.
Cikkünk írásáig csak a Snap reagált nyilvánosan, ám az ügy folyamatban lévő jellege miatt nem kommentálta magát a pert. Közleményében a cég együttérzését fejezte ki az anyával, de úgy véli, hogy a privátabb érintkezésre építő Snapchat kisebb nyomást helyez a felhasználókra, mint a közösségi média többi szereplője.
