Két napon elül másodszor nyitottak tüzet egymásra az India és Pakisztán közötti demarkációs vonalon szolgálatot teljesítő katonák.
Az indiai hadsereg közlése szerint csapatai a pakisztáni hadsereg több állásából érkező kézi lőfegyverek tüzére reagáltak a Kasmír indiai és pakisztáni területeit elválasztó 740 kilométeres de facto határ mentén.
A pakisztáni hadsereg nem kommentálta az indiai állítást.
A vitatott hovatartozású Kasmír India által ellenőrzött régiójában kedden terrortámadás történt, amelyben legkevesebb 26-an vesztették életüket, 17-en megsebesültek.
Pénteken az indiai hatóságok arról számoltak be, hogy három gyanúsítottat azonosítottak, köztük két pakisztáni állampolgárt. Pakisztán tagadta, hogy köze lenne a támadáshoz, és az ország védelmi minisztere szerint nemzetközi vizsgálatra van szükség az ügyben.
A támadás után India és Pakisztán egy sor megszorító intézkedést hozott egymás ellen: Pakisztán például lezárta légterét az indiai légitársaságok előtt, India pedig felfüggesztette az 1960-as, Indus-vizekről szóló szerződést, amely szabályozza az Indus folyó és mellékfolyói vízmegosztását.

Hajbár-Pahtunhva tartomány kormányzata sajnálatosnak nevezte, hogy a hadművelet civil áldozatokat is követelt.
A helyi rendőrség egy magas rangú tisztségviselője azt mondta, hogy három dróncsapást hajtottak végre az Afganisztánnal határos térségben. A művelet célpontjai a pakisztáni tálibok által használt búvóhelyek voltak – írja a Business Standard.
Csak szombat reggel derült ki, hogy két nő is meghalt a hadsereg akciójában. A tisztségviselő elmondása szerint az elkeseredett helyiek tiltakozásul az áldozatok holttestét a település egyik utcáján helyezték el.
A helyi kormányzat szóvivője azt közölte, hogy terrorellenes műveletet hajtottak végre Mardan körzetében, ahol a hadsereg értesülései szerint terroristák rejtőztek.
A csapásokban sikerült is több magas rangú terroristát likvidálni – tette hozzá. Elmondása szerint ilyen műveletek során a civilek védelme elsőbbséget élvez, de ezt időnként nehezítik a terepviszonyok, illetve az a körülmény is, hogy a terroristák civil lakosok között húzzák meg magukat, mintegy élő pajzsként használva őket.
A pakisztáni tálibok mozgalma (TTP) március közepén bejelentette, hogy megindítja „éves tavaszi hadjáratát”, amelynek keretében célzott támadásokkal, rajtaütésekkel és öngyilkos merényletekkel fenyegette meg a pakisztáni hadsereget. Az utóbbi napokban számos offenzívát végre is hajtottak, és több katonát megöltek.
Egy iszlámábádi biztonságpolitikai kutatóközpont becslései szerint 2024-ben több mint 1600 ember vesztette életét támadásokban, az áldozatok csaknem fele a biztonsági erők tagja volt.
Pakisztán azzal vádolja a szomszédos Afganisztánban néhány éve hatalomra került tálibokat, hogy nem lép fel azokkal a fegyveresekkel szemben, akik afgán területen bujkálva készítenek elő támadásokat pakisztáni célpontok ellen. Az afganisztáni tálibok tagadják ezt a vádat, sőt, ők Pakisztánt gyanúsítják azzal, hogy az Iszlám Állam nevű szervezet „terrorista sejtjeit” bújtatják.

Halil felhívta a figyelmet a medveküzdelmek kegyetlenségére, s arra, hogy ugyan mindez illegális Pakisztánban, ennek ellenére még mindig akad rá példa az ország egyes részein.

Hamdullah Fitrát helyettes tálib szóvivő szerint a keddi támadásokban legkevesebb 46 ember halt meg és hatan megsebesültek a keleti Paktika tartomány Barmál nevű körzetében.
Pakisztán viszont azt állította, hogy a légicsapások célpontjai a Tehrík-i-Talibán Pakisztán (TTP) nevű szervezet terroristáinak a határ afgán oldalán található rejtekhelyei voltak. Iszlámábádi tájékoztatás szerint számos szélsőségessel végeztek.
A tálibok védelmi minisztériuma barbár bombázásról és egyértelmű agresszióról beszélt, megtorló akciókat helyezve kilátásba.
A 240 millió lakosú Pakisztánban dzsihadisták és szeparatisták rendszeresen támadják a hadsereget és a rendőrséget, különösen az afgán határ közelében, illetve azon keresztül.
Pakisztánban elsősorban a TTP tálib szélsőséges csoport támadásai élénkültek meg az utóbbi időben, ennek tagjait Afganisztánban képezték ki.
Iszlámábád azzal vádolja a kabuli tálib kormányt – amely azonban tagadja ezt –, hogy lehetővé teszi a TTP-nek pakisztáni célpontok támadását Afganisztánból.

„A halálos áldozatok száma mostanra 22-re emelkedett” – mondta Sahíd Rind, az Afganisztánnal és Iránnal határos Beludzsisztán regionális kormányának szóvivője, aki hozzátette, hogy a halottak között egy nő is van.

Vaszim Beg, a kvettai regionális kórház szóvivője arról számolt be, hogy „46 ember megsérült”.
A robbanás reggel 8 óra 45 perc körül történt az Afganisztánnal és Iránnal határos Beludzsisztán fővárosának, Kvettának főpályaudvarán, ahol az utasok a peronon várakoztak.
Beludzsisztán Pakisztán legnagyobb, de egyben legszegényebb tartománya, annak ellenére, hogy jelentős gáz- és bányászati erőforrásokkal rendelkezik, amelyek ellenőrzését a szeparatisták maguknak követelik.
A kitermelési projektek közül sokat külföldi országok finanszíroznak és működtetnek, különösen a szomszédos Kína, amelynek beruházásait a fegyveres szeparatista csoportok rendszeresen célba vesznek, azzal vádolva őket, hogy kisajátítják a vagyont anélkül, hogy megosztanák annak jövedelmeit a helyi lakossággal.
A támadó szervezetek egyike, a Beludzsisztán Felszabadítási Hadsereg (BLA) rendszeresen vállalja a felelősséget a rendőrség és más tartományokból származó pakisztániak, különösen pandzsábiak elleni halálos támadásokért.

Pakisztán délnyugati részén egy pokolgépes merényletben hét ember, köztük öt kisgyermek vesztette életét pénteken – jelentette az MTI a helyi hatóságokra hivatkozva.
A robbantás célpontjai rendőrök voltak, akik a járványos gyermekbénulás elleni oltási kampányban részt vevő egészségügyi dolgozókat kísértek a Beludzsisztán tartománybeli Másztung város központi piacán. A detonáció egy lányiskola épülete közelében történt, emiatt az áldozatok között volt öt kislány is, továbbá egy rendőr és egy piaci árus.
Mohszin Nakvi pakisztáni belügyminiszter elítélte a „brutális támadást, amelynek ártatlan gyerekek lettek az áldozatai”, és azt ígérte, nem kegyelmeznek az elkövetőknek.
A támadásért egyelőre egy csoport sem vállalta a felelősséget.
Pakisztánban az utóbbi időben egyre több járványos gyermekbénulásos megbetegedést jelentenek: az év eleje óta legkevesebb 41 fertőzött gyereket regisztráltak, ami drámai növekedés az utóbbi három év adataihoz képest.
Hétfőn mintegy 405 ezer embert mozgósítottak országszerte, hogy egy hét leforgása alatt 45 millió gyerekhez juttassák el a vírus elleni vakcinát.
A kampány segítői házról házra járnak, hogy meggyőzzék a családokat a kétdózisú, orális vakcina beadásának fontosságáról.
Pakisztánban rendszeresen érik erőszakos támadások azokat az egészségügyi csapatokat, amelyek tagjai oltást akarnak beadni a gyerekeknek a poliovírus ellen. Az év eleje óta ezeknek a támadásoknak 16 halálos áldozata volt. A helyiek sok helyen még mindig úgy vélik, az oltókampány nyugati összeesküvés annak érdekében, hogy sterilizálják a gyerekeket. Az Egészségügyi Világszervezet szerint a vírus terjedésének megállításához arra lenne szükség, hogy a 10 év alatti gyerekek 90 százaléka megkapja a vakcinát.
