A tűzszünet május 22-én kartúmi idő szerint 21 óra 45 perckor lép életbe, és hét napig tart – derült ki a kiadott közleményből.
Az Abdel Fattáh al-Burhán tábornok vezette hadsereg és a Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo tábornok vezette félkatonai gyors támogató erők (RSF) több mint egy hónapja harcolnak a hatalom megszerzéséért.
A tűzszünetet két héttel azután is bejelentették, hogy a két hadviselő tábornok képviselői először találkoztak a szaúd-arábiai Dzsiddában.
A szembenálló felek május 11-én ígéretet tettek arra, hogy tiszteletben tartják a humanitárius elveket és lehetővé teszik a humanitárius segélyek áramlását.
Martin Griffiths, a világszervezet vészhelyzeti koordinátora csütörtökön azonban sajnálatát fejezte ki a nyilatkozat „jelentős és kirívó” megsértése miatt.
Az ENSZ Humanitárius Ügyeket Koordináló Hivatala (OCHA) szerint eddig legkevesebb 676 halálos áldozata és 5576 sebesültje van a harcoknak. Mintegy 936 ezren voltak kénytelenek elmenekülni otthonaikból, közülük mintegy 200 ezren a környező országokban kerestek menedéket.
A felek között azóta között többször is született megállapodás tűzszünetről, ezek azonban jellemzően kudarcba fulladtak.

A szemben álló felek vasárnap éjféltől további hetvenkét órával meghosszabbították a humanitárius tűzszünetet Szudánban – jelentette be a kormánnyal szembenálló Gyorsreagálású Támogató Erők (RSF) szóvivője.
„Válaszul a nemzetközi, regionális és helyi felszólításokra, bejelentjük a humanitárius tűzszünet 72 órás meghosszabbítását ma éjféltől a humanitárius folyosók megnyitása, valamint az állampolgárok és lakosok szabad mozgásának elősegítése végett, hogy ki tudják elégíteni szükségleteiket, illetve biztonságos térségekbe tudjanak menni” – áll az RSF közleményében.
A kelet-afrikai országban április közepén robbantak ki harcok a kormányerők és a velük szemben álló RSF között, az összecsapásokban százak vesztették életüket és ezrek sebesültek meg. Pénteken bejelentették a hétfőn megkötött tűzszünet 72 órás meghosszabbítását, amely vasárnap éjfélkor jár le. A hét folyamán a külföldi kormányok igyekeztek kihasználni a relatív nyugalmat, és nagy erőkkel láttak hozzá diplomatáik, állampolgáraik és más külföldiek evakuálásához.
Az Egyesült Államok hadihajót küldött a kelet-afrikai országba állampolgárai kimenekítésére – közölte két amerikai tisztségviselő a Reuters hírügynökségnek nyilatkozva. A névtelenséget kérő illetékesek szerint a Brunswick nagy sebességű szállítóhajó ideiglenesen Port Szudánban tartózkodik és várhatóan amerikaiak százait veszi majd fedélzetre.

Szerhij Hajdaj, Luhanszk kormányzója szerint az orosz csapatok 14 alkalommal nyitottak tüzet az ukrajnai régióban a Vlagyimir Putyin által az ortodox karácsony alkalmából meghirdetett egyoldalú tűzszünet első három órájában − írta meg a The Guardian.
„Az orosz erők megpróbálták megrohamozni az egyik felszabadított falut is Luhanszk megyében a tűzszünet alatt” − írta Hajdaj a Telegramon.
Ahogy írta, 12 órától 15 óráig az oroszok 14-szer tüzeltek és háromszor megrohamozták az egyik településünket. A megszállt falvakban az emberek egész nap a pincékben húzódnak meg. Ortodox gyilkosok köszöntenek minket karácsonykor.

Egyiptom a felhívásban kijelenti, hogy „erőfeszítéseket tesz, és elkötelezett amellett, hogy kiszabadítsák” az Iszlám Dzsihád letartóztatott tagjait, Bassam al-Szaadit és Kalil Avadét, akiknek a szervezet szabadon engedését kéri.

Előzőleg vasárnap délután Jaír Lapid miniszterelnök találkozott a dél-izraeli önkormányzati vezetőkkel, akiknek azt mondta, hogy Izrael elérte céljait három nap alatt az Iszlám Dzsihád elleni harcokban, és semmi haszna nincs a Hajnalhasadás hadművelet további folytatásának. Izrael pénteken – több mint egy év viszonylagos nyugalom után – indította meg Hajnalhasadás nevű hadműveletét a Gázai övezet iszlamista szervezetei ellen, mert azok megtorlással fenyegettek egyik magas rangú ciszjordániai tisztviselőjük, Besszám esz-Szaadi letartóztatása miatt. Jemenben 2015 óta polgárháború zajlik. A harcok újra előhozták az északi és a déli országrész ellentétét. A déli fegyveres csoportok ragaszkodnak az 1990 előtti állapothoz, azaz különálló és független Észak-, illetve Dél-Jemenre kívánják felosztani az országot. Most háromnapos tűzszünetet hirdettek a húszi lázadók.
A síita húszi lázadók a kormányerőket támogató, Szaúd-Arábia vezette arab katonai koalíció ellen harcolnak, de szombaton a háromnapos tűzszünet mellett a tartós fegyvernyugvást is kilátásba helyezték.
Mahdi al-Maszat a húszik legfelsőbb politikai tanácsának elnöke szerint ennek feltétele, hogy Szaúd-Arábia kötelezettséget vállal az ostrom feloldására, és végleg leállítja támadásait Jemen ellen.
Rijád egyelőre nem reagált az ajánlatra.
A bejelentést azt követően tették, hogy pénteken az Irán támogatását élvező felkelők több csapást is mértek Szaúd-Arábia területe ellen.
Az egyik célpont a Saudi Aramco nevű szaúdi állami olajvállalat dzsiddai elosztóközpontja volt, néhány kilométerre a formula-1-es nagydíjnak otthont adó dzsiddai versenypályától. A létesítmény két tartályát találat érte, de a vállalat szerint személyi sérülés nem volt.
A szaúdi vezetésű arab koalíció szombat hajnalban válaszul katonai műveletet indított Jemenben olajlétesítményei és a „globális energiaforrások” védelme érdekében.
A koalíció szerint a húsziknak „viselniük kell tetteik következményeit”. A szaúdi állami média jelentése szerint a koalíció felszólította a civil lakosságot, hogy tartsa magát távol olajlétesítményektől a jemeni Hudajda tartományban. A koalíció harci gépei a hudajdai kikötő környékét és Szanaát támadták.
Szaúd-Arábia arab szövetségeseivel együtt 2015-ben avatkozott be a jemeni polgárháborúba a nemzetközileg elismert kormány oldalán, miután a húszik lerohanták a fővárost, és elüldözték az országból a kabinetet, amely most Szaúd-Arábiában működik.

Naderi leszögezte: a tálibok korábbi, ötezer társuk elengedéséről szóló követelése is, amelyet a tavaly kezdődött afgánközi tárgyalások feltételéül szabtak, komoly kihívást jelentett Kabul számára. Rámutatott arra, hogy jóllehet a kormány végül teljesítette a követelést, az erőszak nem csökkent az országban.
Naderi bejelentését a tálibok egyelőre nem kommentálták.
A tálibok fokozták a kormányerők elleni támadásaikat azóta, hogy Joe Biden amerikai elnök bejelentette, kivonják az amerikai katonákat Afganisztánból.
Biden a múlt héten azt közölte, a csapatok augusztus 31-én befejezik a kivonulást.
A radikálisok május óta jelentős területeket foglaltak el az ország vidéki részein, továbbá kulcsfontosságú határátkelőhelyeket vontak irányításuk alá az iráni, a türkmén, a pakisztáni és a tádzsik határon is.
Elemzők szerint jelenleg a kormányerők már csupán a tartományi fővárosokat és a legfontosabb utakat ellenőrzik, sokan pedig attól tartanak, hogy az utolsó külföldi katona távozásával az ország káoszba süllyed.
A felek között között tavaly szeptemberben béketárgyalások kezdődtek Dohában, ám az egyeztetések többször zátonyra futottak. A tárgyalások következő fordulóját ezen a héten tartják a katari fővárosban, a Tolonews című afgán hírportál értesülése szerint a megbeszélések egyik fő témája a tűzszünet lesz.

Másfél hete kötötték meg a 11 napon át tartó újabb Gázai-háborút lezáró tűzszünetet, így megkezdődhet az esetleges bűncselekmények feltárása.
Az ENSZ Emberi Jogi Tanácsa elfogadott egy határozatot, melynek köszönhetően esetleges háborús bűntettek elkövetése miatt indítanak nyomozást Izrael és a Hámász ellen – tudósított róla a Sky News hírtelevízió.
A határozatot 29-4 arányban fogadták el a genfi különtalálkozón, az elutasító országok között az Egyesült Királyság, Franciaország és Japán is szerepel. Ezen felül fel fognak állítani egy bizottságot, mely kivizsgálja a konfliktus és a feszültségek gyökereit, valamint az instabilitás okait.
Az izraeli külügyminisztérium ismét hevesen ellenezte, hogy ő bármi rosszat tettek volna és kijelentették, hogy nem fognak együttműködni az ENSZ bizottságával, amely szerintük Izrael-ellenes, képmutató és abszurd.
„Bármilyen határozat, mely nem említi meg, hogy egy terrorszervezet 4300 rakétát lőtt ártatlan izraeliekre vagy azt se említik, hogy a Hámász egy terrorszervezetek, csak az ENSZ erkölcsi bukása és a nemzetközi közösség szégyenfoltja lehet”
Meirav Eilon Shahar, Izrael ENSZ-nagykövete mélységesen elítélte a döntést, valamint kiemelte, hogy a Hámász egy „dzsihadista, népirtó terrorszervezet”, amely palesztin civileket használt emberi pajzsként, hogy Izraelt lőhessék rakétával.
Az Egyesült Államok, mely nem vett részt a szavazáson, nagyon „szomorúnak” találta egy ilyen határozat elfogadását, ugyanis meglátásuk szerint ez fenyegeti a közelmúltban elért előrelépéseket a konfliktussal összefüggésben.
A Hámász ezzel szemben üdvözölte az ENSZ döntését és állnak a vizsgálat elé, amely szerintük egy legitim ellenállás Izraellel szemben. A terrorszervezet azonban nem tett arról említést, hogy őket személyesen hogyan érintette a döntés.
A két fél között kirobbant háború során Izrael a könyörtelen légicsapások révén összesen 270 palesztint ölt meg, köztük 68 gyermeket a 11 nap leforgása alatt, miközben a palesztin rakéták 12 izraeli, köztük 1 gyermek életét oltották ki.

A két hadsereg vezetője egy közös közleményben jelentették be, hogy tűzszünetet kötöttek, mely már ma éjféltől hatályosult, és kiterjed Kasmír régióra is – írja a Washington Post. A lépés kulcsfontosságú lehet a két atomhatalom közötti hadi feszültség enyhítése érdekében.
Kasmír régió jelentette eddig a legnagyobb feszültséget a két ország között, mivel mindkettő azt állította, hogy az ő befolyási övezetük alá tartozik. Gyakoriak voltak a katonai összecsapások is, több tucat helyi falusi lakos és katona veszti életét Kasmírban évente, mely helyzetet sok megfigyelő egyenesen háborúnak nevezett India és Pakisztán között.
2019 óta a két fél között meglehetősen fagyossá vált a viszony, miután az indiai hadsereg légitámadást indított Pakisztán ellen, arra válaszul, hogy egy terrortámadás során 40 indiai katona vesztette életét, szintén Kasmírban. Ez pedig azért volt veszélyes, mert öt évtized után először volt légi összecsapás a két fél között.
A Kasmírban zajló határközti harcok ennek mentén szintén eszkalálódtak, 2020-ban több mint 5000 incidensről számoltak be a seregek, mely 2002 óta a legmagasabb szám volt. A támadások ráadásul rendkívül szerteágazóak voltak, rakétatámadástól a közvetlen tűzharcokig terjedtek, civil áldozatokat is szedve.
Happymon Jacob professzor elmondása szerint amennyiben az új tűzszüneti megállapodás hatékonynak bizonyul, az egy remek útra állíthatja mindkét nemzetet, hogy sikerüljön deeszkalálni a feszültséget. Hozzátette: ezzel a nemzetközi közösségnek is meg tudják üzenni, hogy ők bizony tesznek lépéseket Kasmír stabilizálása érdekében.
Papíron eddig is volt tűzszüneti megállapodás a két ország között, melyet még 2003-ban kötöttek a korábbi tűzszüneti vonal megerősítésére. Ezt követően néhány évig nyugalom volt a határokon, ám ennek egy 2008-as terrortámadás vetett véget, amikor Mumbaiban 160 emberrel végzett egy terrorista.
Ezt követően a feszültség és az erőszak ismét eszkalálódott, 2014 óta konkrétan a tízszeresére emelkedett az erőszakos incidenseknek a száma, főként a tűzszüneti vonal mentén. Az új megállapodás értelmében a két hadsereg nem fogja egymást „piszkálni”, különösen nem Kasmírban.
