A koronavírus-járvány terjedésének megfékezése végett széles körű, bár a tavaszinál több szempontból lényegesen kevésbé szigorú korlátozások léptek életbe négy hetes időtartamra csütörtökön Angliában.
A brit kormány által elrendelt, 56 millió angliai lakost érintő, a londoni parlamentben szerda este nagy többséggel törvénybe foglalt intézkedéscsomag értelmében december 2-ig az Angliában élők csak meghatározott indokokkal hagyhatják el otthonaikat. Ezek közé tartozik a sürgősségi vagy a tervezett orvosi ellátás, az alapvető szükségleti cikkek és gyógyszerek beszerzése, a munkahelyre utazás azok esetében, akik otthonról nem tudják ellátni munkájukat, illetve a szabadtéri testedzés. Ezt az egy háztartásban élők együtt is végezhetik, de mindenki csak egy, vele nem egy fedél alatt lakó emberrel találkozhat közterületen is.
A felfrissülés, testmozgás céljából végzett szabadtéri tevékenységet ugyanakkor a mostani rendelet korántsem korlátozza olyan szigorúan, mint tavasszal. A március végén életbe léptetett zárlat idején testedzés céljából naponta csak egyszer, legfeljebb egy órára lehetett kilépni az utcára, és a lakhely közelében kellett maradni, nem lehetett leülni a közterületi padokra és napozni sem lehetett a parkokban. A mostani rendelet engedélyezi, sőt bátorítja a korlátozás nélküli idejű tartózkodást a szabad levegőn, a lakóhelytől távolabbi helyszínekre is el lehet utazni felfrissülés céljából, és a parkokat is korlátozás nélkül lehet használni sétára, vagy pihenésre a padokon.
A nem alapvető szükségleti cikkeket árusító boltok, valamint a pubok, a bárok és az éttermek a csütörtökön életbe lépett négyheti korlátozás idejére bezárnak, de elvitelre és házhozszállításra továbbra is lehet ételt rendelni. A pubok és a bárok is értékesíthetnek elvitelre szeszesitalt online rendelés alapján. Az üzletek is felvehetnek online rendelést, és az így megrendelt árucikkeket a vevők a boltokban átvehetik.
Lényeges különbség a járvány első, tavaszi hulláma idején elrendelt zárlathoz képest az is, hogy ezúttal az iskolák és az egyetemek nyitva maradnak.
A tavaszi korlátozások első szakaszában – a kritikus fontosságú munkahelyeken, például a kórházakban dolgozók kivételével – a munkába járás is tilos volt, azok számára is, akiknek esetében nem volt lehetséges az otthoni munkavégzés. A kormány most is ösztönzi az otthoni munkát, de a munkahelyek nyitva maradnak, mindenekelőtt az építőiparban és a feldolgozószektorban.
Jelentős különbség az is, hogy a meghatározatlan időre elrendelt tavaszi korlátozásokkal ellentétben ezúttal van végdátuma az intézkedésnek. A rendeletet jóváhagyó szavazás előtti szerdai alsóházi vitában Boris Johnson miniszterelnök külön is hangsúlyozta, hogy a mostani korlátozások érvénye december 2-án automatikusan lejár.
A csütörtökön életbe lépett korlátozó intézkedéscsomag komoly fordulat a brit kormány járványellenes stratégiájában. Johnson az elmúlt hetekben többször is gyakorlatilag kizárta az országos kiterjedésű zárlat újbóli alkalmazását, azzal az érvvel, hogy egy ilyen intézkedésnek katasztrofális gazdasági következményei lennének.
A brit gazdaság a március végén elrendelt zárlatot súlyosan megszenvedte: az idei második negyedévben 19,8 százalékkal – a negyedéves mérések 65 évvel ezelőtti kezdete óta példátlan ütemben – zuhant a brit bruttó hazai termék (GDP) az első három hónaphoz viszonyítva. A kormány tudományos tanácsadó testületének tagjai azonban mind erőteljesebb nyomást gyakoroltak Johnsonra a járványellenes intézkedések kiterjesztése érdekében, tekintettel a koronavírus-fertőzések gyorsuló terjedésére.

Egy háromgyerekes angol nő csempészett migránsokat az Egyesült Királyságba. Az albán bevándorlókat aztán kannabiszfarmokon dolgoztatták, és mindezt egy segélyszervezet leple alatt. A háromgyerekes Pranvera Smith csak La Nonnának, vagyis a nagymamának hívatta magát.
Több mint öt évnyi börtönbüntetésre ítéltek egy háromgyerekes anyát az Egyesült Királyságban, mert migránsokat csempészett be az országba, akiket aztán kannabiszfarmokon dolgoztattak – számol be az esetről a DailyStar.
A 47 éves Pranvera Smith, aki La Nonna-nak, vagyis nagymamának hívatta magát, 2014-ben Birminghamben hozta létre a Freedom to Stay nevű jótékonysági szervezetet az élettársával, a 44 éves Flamur Dakával. A szervezet, amelynek alapításához még 10 ezer font támogatást is kicsalt a nő, névleg azért jött létre, hogy a szükséges papírok beszerzésével, szállással és munkával segítse az albán menedékkérőket.
Ez azonban csak álca volt, és a pár embereket csempészet be kamionokkal a belgiumi Gentből az Egyesült Királyságba. A szolgáltatásaikért fejenként akár 10 ezer eurót is elkértek a migránsoktól, és még mint jótékonysági szervezet is vettek fel pénzt a becsempészett bevándorlók után.
Július 2-án azonban a belga hatóságok az egyik teherautójukból kiszabadítottak egy 21 éves albán férfit egy kikötőben, a nyomozók így jutottak el a párhoz, és átkutatták a Birmingham közelében lévő irodájukat. A hatóságok szerint csak 2020 első felében a párnak 130 „ügyfele” lehetett. Ahogy az ügy egyik nyomozója fogalmazott, az általuk elkövetett bűncselekmények cinikusak és kiszámítottak, ők maguk pedig egyszerű emberkereskedők és bántalmazók voltak.
A nőt és férfit végül többek között csalással és a bevándorlási törvények megsértésével vádolták meg, ők pedig minden pontban bűnösnek vallották magukat. Pranvera Smith-t öt év négy hónapra, Flamur Dakát pedig négy év börtönre ítélték.

Boris Johnson brit miniszterelnök a Downing Streeten tartott szombat esti sajtótájékoztatóján azt mondta, november 5-től december 2-ig az Angliában élők csak bizonyos meghatározott indokokkal hagyhatják el otthonaikat.
Ezek közé tartozik az orvosi ellátás, az alapvető szükségleti cikkek és a gyógyszerek beszerzése, a munkahelyre utazás azok esetében, akik otthonról nem tudják ellátni munkájukat, illetve a szabadtéri testedzés.
A nem alapvető szükségleti cikkeket árusító üzleteknek és a vendéglőknek, bároknak egy hónapra be kell zárniuk az Egyesült Királyságban– írja a BBC.
A tavaszi korlátozással ellentétben az iskolák és az egyetemek nyitva maradhatnak. Ebben az időszakban utazási korlátozásokra is számítani kell.
Az Egyesült Királyságban ma további 21 915 új koronavírus-esetet jegyeztek fel, amivel a fertőzöttek száma, a járvány kezdete óta átlépte az egymilliót. A járvány halálos áldozatainak száma 326-tal nőtt egyetlen nap alatt.
A BBC rendelkezésére álló dokumentumok szerint minden modell azt jósolja, hogy a halálozások száma december végéig nőni fog, és december közepén fognak a legtöbben kórházi kezelésre szorulni a fertőzés következtében.

Több száz nővér tüntetett Nagy-Britannia több városában a hétvégén, miután megugrott a koronavírusban elhunyt egészségügyi dolgozók száma – számolt be róla a Metro.
„Elég a tapsolásból, fizessetek!” – ez volt talán a legerősebb és lényegretörőbb mondat, ami a hétvégi megmozdulásokon elhangzott, utalva arra, hogy az egészségügyben dolgozók a szimbolikus gesztusok helyett olyan fajta megbecsülésre vágynak, ami a bérükön is meglátszik.
A megmozdulások másik kiváltója az volt ugyanis, hogy júniusban a brit kormány jelentős fizetésemeléseket vezetett be az állami szférában, a nővérek azonban nem részesültek ebből, dacára annak, hogy előtte hónapokon keresztül a frontvonalban dolgoztak a járvány elleni küzdelem során.
A demonstrálók az esemény során többek mellett azt skandálták, 640 egészségügyi dolgozó meghalt. Vér tapad a kezükhöz! – utalva ezzel Boris Johnsonra és kormányára.
A megmozduláson részvevő egyik nővér emlékeztette a miniszterelnököt, hogy az általa semmibe vett nővérek az ő életét is megmentették, mikor megfertőződött a vírussal, és még ennek ellenére is harcolniuk kell a jobb fizetésért.
A kormánynak láthatóan fogalma sincs, mi folyik itt és ez nagyon ijesztő. A nővérek megmentették a miniszterelnök életét, mit kellene még tenniük azért, hogy rendesen megfizessék őket? Nagyon bizarr az egész – hangzott el a beszédek között.
A szakszervezet 15 százalékos, vagy 3000 fontos fizetésemelést követel a dolgozóknak, attól függően, hogy kinek melyik az előnyösebb. Szerintük ekkora mértékű emelés kompenzálja azt kiesést, ami az elmúlt tíz év megszorításai miatt az egészségügyben dolgozókat érintette.
Ugyanakkor az egészségügyi tárca még így sem tervezi emelni a béreket, közleményük szerint az idén lejáró hároméves pénzügyi megállapodás keretében már megemelték az ágazatban dolgozók bérét, ezért is hagyták ki őket idén nyáron.
E mellett megragadták az alkalmat, hogy ismét köszönetet mondjanak mindenkinek, aki részt vesz a járvány elleni küzdelemben.

Hárman meghaltak, hárman megsérültek a dél-angliai Reading városában szombat este elkövetett késeléses támadásban. A rendőrség vasárnap hajnalban közölte, hogy nem terrorcselekményként kezeli az incidenst.
A területileg illetékes rendőrkapitányság – Thames Valley Police – közleményében bejelentette, hogy gyilkossági nyomozást indított az ügyben. A tájékoztatás szerint a három sérült állapota súlyos. A rendőrség közölte, hogy egy 25 éves, readingi illetőségű férfit vett őrizetbe gyilkosság gyanújával a támadás helyszínén, a Forbury Gardens nevű parkban, és jelenleg mást nem keres az ügyben.
A közlemény szerint nincs olyan értesülés, hogy a lakosságot bármilyen további veszély fenyegetné, de a rendőrség éberségre kért mindenkit, és arra, hogy ha bárki bármi gyanúsat észlel, azonnal jelentse.
A BBC közszolgálati médiatársaság első beszámolói még arról szóltak, hogy a rendőrség a Londontól 65 kilométerre nyugatra fekvő városban történt késelés lehetséges indítékai közé sorolta a terrorizmust.
Ian Hunter főfelügyelő, a Thames Valley Police bűnüldözési osztályának vezetője azonban vasárnap hajnalban közölte, hogy a rendőrség nem terrorincidensként kezeli a támadást. Hozzátette ugyanakkor: a nyomozók továbbra is nyitott kérdésnek tartják, hogy mi lehetett a gyilkosság indítéka, és a vizsgálatot a délkelet-angliai terrorizmusellenes rendőri ügyosztály is segíti. Hunter szerint voltak olyan jelentések, hogy az incidens kötődhet a Black Lives Matter (BLM) nevű csoport által nem sokkal a támadás előtt tartott rasszizmusellenes megmozduláshoz. A főfelügyelő azonban leszögezte, hogy a BLM demonstrációja semmilyen módon nem kötődik a késeléses incidenshez, amely a tüntetés vége után három órával történt. Korábban a BLM illetékesei is közölték, hogy az incidensnek nincs köze a demonstrációhoz, a megmozdulás békésen, rendőri felügyelet mellett lezajlott, és a résztvevők már nem voltak a helyszínen, amikor a késelés történt.
A nyomozás vezetője szerint a rendőrség tudja, hogy a támadást többen is rögzítették mobiltelefonjukon, és szeretné, ha jelentkeznének, akik ilyen felvételt készítettek. Ian Hunter kérte azt is, hogy az elhunytak és a sérültek, valamint szeretteik iránti tiszteletből e felvételeket senki ne terjessze a közösségi médiafelületeken. A közleményben nem szerepel a gyanúsított kiléte, de a BBC által név nélkül idézett biztonsági források szerint az őrizetbe vett férfi feltehetőleg líbiai.
A brit médiában idézett szemtanúk szerint a parkban szombat este sokan időztek, és a férfi „egyik csoporttól a másikig futva” támadt rá a pihenőkre. Ezután menekülni próbált, de a rendőrök elfogták.
A BBC helyszíni beszámolója szerint a gyilkosság után tucatnyi fegyveres, pajzsokkal felszerelt rendőr hatolt be egy readingi társasházba, ahonnan nem sokkal később hangos dörrenés hallatszott.
Nagy-Britanniában legutóbb tavaly november 29-én történt halálos áldozatokkal járó késeléses támadás, de arról a rendőrség azonnal megállapította, hogy terrorcselekmény volt. Annak a merényletnek az elkövetője, Usman Khan a londoni City pénzügyi központjában, a London híd közelében két embert megölt, hármat megsebesített, mielőtt a rendőrök agyonlőtték.
A brit hatóságok nem sokkal korábban, november elején mérsékelték a nagy-britanniai terrorkészültség szintjét: az ötfokozatú skálán az addig érvényben volt második legmagasabb, „súlyos” szintről a harmadik szintre, „jelentősre” módosították a terrortámadások veszélyére megállapított fokozatot.

A BBC szerint a dél-angliai, Londontól nyugatra fekvő Reading városában több embert megkéseltek. Három ember meghalt, halálra késelték őket – jelentette a The Telegraph.
A BBC szerint két embert szúrt sérülésekkel kezelnek a Royal Berkshire kórházban.
Jason Brock, a readingi tanács vezetője arra szólította fel az embereket, hogy a súlyos támadás miatt kerüljék a környéket.
A Skynews szerint egy embert elfogtak és letartóztatták. A V4NA nemzetközi hírügynökség információi szerint a brit rendőrség egyelőre nem erősítette meg, hogy a három ember meghalt.
A Le Figaro arról számolt be, hogy a brit szélsőbaloldali tüntetés szervezői amiatt aggódnak, hogy a késelést összemossák velük, a korábbi tüntetésükkel.
Szintén a The Telegraph információi szerint a brit rendőrség terrortámadásként kezeli a késelést.
Boris Johnson brit miniszterelnök Twitteren azt írja: „Gondolok mindazokra, akiket ez a félelmetes támadás sújtott Readingben, és köszönetet mondok a helyszínen dolgozóknak.”
A SkyNews információi szerint terrortámadás volt, egy líbiai férfit letartóztattak. Három embert halálra késeltek, ketten súlyosan megsérültek.
