Інцидент зі шкільним обідом у штаті Бігар на сході Індії викликав значний суспільний резонанс. Адже після споживання однієї з приготованих у їдальні страв понад сотні дітей стало зле. Як повідомила Національна комісія з прав людини (NHRC), у місті Мокама в шкільній їжі було знайдено мертву змію.
За попередньою інформацією, кухар витяг мертву тварину, але все ж видав страву школярам. Як повідомляє BBC News, того дня в школі обідало близько 500 дітей і щонайменше сотня з них захворіла.
Недуга учнів викликала паніку в громаді. Місцеві жителі на знак протесту перекрили головну транспортну магістраль з вимогою запровадити суворий контроль за системою шкільного харчування.
NHRC розпочало офіційне розслідування інциденту. У відомстві наголосили, що цей випадок порушує фундаментальні права людини.
Влада ще не оприлюднила подробиці про винних осіб та висунуті їм звинувачення.
Цей прикрий інцидент укотре звернув увагу суспільства на часто сумнівні гігієнічні умови шкільного харчування в Індії та порушив питання щодо безпеки харчових продуктів у навчальних закладах.

Як повідомляється, вісім людей загинули, ще кілька отримали травми внаслідок обвалу нещодавно збудованої стіни в храмі в Індії. 6-метрова ділянка стіни обвалилася, поховавши під собою кількох людей.
Прем’єр-міністр Індії Нарендра Моді також висловив співчуття з приводу інциденту. Він заявив, що уряд Індії надасть фінансову допомогу родинам загиблих внаслідок обвалу, а також постраждалим. Виявилося, що обвалену стіну звели 20 днів тому.
На місце події негайно прибули рятувальники. Вони визволили з-під завалів кількох осіб, але життя восьми людей врятувати не вдалося внаслідок травм, несумісних із життям.

Від сьогодні влада Індії запровадила комендантську годину у деяких районах міста Нагпур. Причиною став напад на поліцейських біля гробниці мусульманського правителя XVII століття. Про це повідомляє Reuters.
Близько 15 правоохоронців постраждали під час зіткнень, викликаних вимогою індуїстської групи винести гробницю правителя Великих Моголів XVII -го століття. Один із них перебуває у важкому стані. Також поранення дістали кілька цивільних осіб. Через заворушення у місті пошкоджено багато автівок.
У заяві поліції йдеться проте, що члени групи Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) спалили опудало імператора Аурангзеба та його могилу, скандуючи гасла з вимогою прибрати його з сусіднього міста Аурангабад.
Ситуація ускладнилась після того, як кілька членів мусульманських груп, своєю чергою, пройшли біля поліцейської дільниці та закидали правоохоронців камінням. Нападники у масках були озброєні ножами та пляшками.
Проте VHP заперечує звинувачення на свою адресу у нарузі над гробницею. Група наполягає на тому, що лише хоче замінити гробницю меморіалом для правителів місцевої громади маратхів.
Головний міністр західного штату Махараштра, де розташоване місто, закликав докласти всіх зусиль для підтримки закону та порядку.
