Причини події поки невідомі, проте, швидше за все, йдеться про обрив троса. Кабінка зірвалася незадовго до прибуття на станцію і звалилась у важкодоступній лісистій місцевості з висоти приблизно півтора кілометрів.
Міністр транспорту Італії Енріко Джованніні оголосив про створення комісії з розслідування трагедії і заявив, що він вже зробив запит даних про ремонтні роботи і перевірки, проведені на лінії в минулому. Він планує відвідати місце інциденту в понеділок.
Зазначається, що канатна дорога була відремонтована в 2016 році і лише нещодавно знову відкрилася після скасування обмежень через COVID-19.
Прем’єр-міністр Італії Маріо Драгі висловив співчуття сім’ям загиблих.

У неділю, 4 квітня, на річці Шіталакшья в Бангладеш, грузове судно зіткнулося з поромом з десятками пасажирів. Не менше 5 осіб загинули.
11 осіб було витягнуто з води живими, повідомила представниця округу Нараянгандж. Деякі пасажири могли самостійно дістатися до берега. Рятувальна операція ускладнена негодою.
Двопалубний пором, на борту якого перебували понад 50 осіб, прямував з міста Нараянгандж. Пором був переповнений, зазначив місцевий поліцейський інспектор. За його словами, багато пасажирів поспішали покинути місто через введення з 5 квітня жорсткого тижневого локдауна із-за COVID-19.
Нещасні випадки за участю поромів не рідкість в Народній Республіці, де цим видом транспорту користуються мільйони людей. Однак в останні роки число таких епізодів зменшилося, оскільки влада посилила відповідальність за використання судів у непридатному до плавання стані.

Через сильні дощі, які тривають уже кілька днів в Індонезії, обвалилася золотодобувна шахта. Внаслідок аварії на руднику вже загинули шість людей, рятувальники шукають подальших жертв катастрофи.
Фото: EPA-EFE На незаконній золотодобувній шахті в селі Буранга, де велика кількість опадів розпушила ґрунт, все ще існує високий ризик обвалення та зсувів. Це ускладнює роботу пошуково-рятувальних груп, які досі шукають під землею тих, хто вижив.
Наразі відомо про сімдесят зниклих безвісти. П’ятнадцять людей вдалося врятувати. Серед загиблих – три жінки.
Як повідомляє ABC News, у ямі шукають ще п’ятьох людей, але, оскільки це незаконна шахта, можна припустити, що під руїни потрапила більша кількість людей. Рятувальники працюють на місці трагедії з двома спеціальними екскаваторами та іншою сільськогосподарською технікою. До пошуків залучені солдати, поліція та місцеві МНСники, а також волонтери.
Портал нагадує, що через сильний дощ та шахти, побудовані в небезпечних умовах, подібні випадки поширені в Індонезії. Тим не менше, люди, які тут мешкають, ризикують, оскільки видобуток корисних копалин є однією з найбільш прибуткових робіт у цій місцевості, попри те, що вони використовують високотоксичні ртуть і ціанід для обробки золотої руди, не захищаючись від отруєння.
На Індонезію припадає близько трьох відсотків світового видобутку золота. Значна частина видобутого цінного металу надходить із шахти Грасберг у провінції Папуа, де під землею ховається золота приблизно на 40 млрд доларів.
У багатьох країнах Азії та Африки зростає нелегальний видобуток корисних копалин. Дослідження міжурядового форуму з видобутку корисних копалин, металів та мінералів показало, що на сьогодні кількість людей, які працюють на незаконних шахтах у всьому світі, перевищує сорок мільйонів осіб. Для порівняння – в 2014 році це число становило 30 та 6 мільйонів у 1993 році.

В індонезійській провінції Західний Сулавесі щонайменше 56 людей загинули, кількість поранених збільшилася до понад 820 осіб в результаті серії землетрусів.
Про це повідомляє агентство „Сіньхуа„.
Представник агентства з ліквідації наслідків стихійних лих розповів, що кількість поранених становить 826 осіб. Близько 15 тисяч громадян залишили свої домівки.
Він додав, що кошти екстреної допомоги продовжують надходити до постраждалих, які перебувають в декількох евакуаційних центрах.
У постраждалому регіоні відновили роботу електрики та функціонування головної дороги, яка була пошкоджена в результаті підземних поштовхів.
Також зазначено, що в Західному Сулавесі продовжують відбуватися афтершоки. Всього їх зафіксували 28.

У неділю індонезійські водолази в Яванському морі виявили уламки пасажирського літака авіакомпанії Sriwijaya Air, який розбився напередодні, передає MTI з посиланням на місцеву владу. На борту знаходилися 62 людини.
Командувач повітряних сил Індонезії Хаді Тьяджанто розповів, що на місці аварії водолази знайшли деякі частини боїнга, рятувальні жилети та реєстраційний номер літака.
Виявленню уламків літака посприяла хороша видимість у воді. Армія країни направила на місце катастрофи військові кораблі та вертольоти. Літак авіакомпанії Sriwijawa виконував рейси з Джакарти до міста Понтіанак. Транспортний засіб зник з радарів диспетчерів незабаром після вильоту. За даними шведського інтернет-порталу Flightradar24, який моніторить рейси, літак раптово втратив швидкість та висоту через чотири хвилини після того, як піднявся в небо. Раніше рейс переносився на 30 хвилин через погані погодні умови.
За останні два роки це друга авіакатастрофа в Індонезії. У жовтні 2018-го в країні загинули 189 людей, коли Boeing 737 MAX 8 індонезійської авіакомпанії Lion Air, який прямував до острова Джака, упав у море невдовзі після зльоту.
Після того як інший пасажирський літак подібного типу розбився в Ефіопії у 2019 році, «Боїнг» погодився заплатити понад 2,5 мільярда доларів для врегулювання кримінальних звинувачень, заявило в четвер міністерство юстиції США.
У двох аваріях загинули 346 людей. Обидва випадки трапилися невдовзі після зльоту. Як показали розслідування, нещодавно розроблена система захисту від аварій MAX виявила, що літак розбився через технічну та конструктивну ваду, саме тому падав носом донизу. З такого положення пілоти більше не могли вивести літак, і він зазнав катастрофи. Подальші розслідування також з’ясували, що «Боїнг» приховував існування цієї системи від влади й пілотів через недбале планування та неналежне ліцензування.
Рейс Sriwijaya Air був не моделлю MAX, а старішим типом Boeing 737-500.

Міністр транспорту Індонезії Буді Кар’я Сумаді підтвердив, що пасажирський літак компанії Sriwijaya Air розбився неподалік острова Мале. Зв’язок із літаком зник через чотири хвилини після його вильоту з аеропорту Джакарти. Наразі влада розпочала пошуково-рятувальну операцію.
Про це міністр заявив місцевому виданню Detik, повідомляє hromadske.
Більш детальну інформацію про катастрофу він пообіцяв надати на пресконференції, яку планують провести найближчим часом.
Першим про зникнення літака повідомив сервіс FlightRadar24. Як він зазначає, літак втратив понад 10 тисяч футів (приблизно три тисячі метрів) висоти за хвилину.
Літак прямував із Джакарти до іншого міста в Індонезії Понтіанак. Рейс SJ182 виконував літак Boeing 737-500, який здійснює польоти з 1994 року. Зазначимо, що це не літак Boeing 737 Max, польоти якого зупиняли з березня 2019 року через дві катастрофи, зокрема в Індонезії.
У Міністерстві транспорту Індонезії підтвердили, що втратили зв’язок із літаком. Наразі розпочалася почалася пошуково-рятувальна операція, передає South China Morning Post.
Авіакомпанія Sriwijaya Air заявила, що рейс мав тривати 90 хвилин. На борту було 56 пасажирів та шестеро членів екіпажу, передає AP.
Як передає CNN Indonesia, мешканці прибережних територій чули два вибухи, а рибалки та рятувальники дістали уламки літака, кабелі. Видання AirLive поширює відео того, як з води дістають уламки.
Очільник місцевої поліції Парі Маславі розповів CNN Indonesia, що на місці ймовірного падіння літака виявили багато нафти та уламків. За його словами, глибина в цій точці від 15 до 30 метрів.

Росія заявила про свій вихід з тристоронніх консультацій з Австралією і Нідерландами з питань, пов’язаних з авіакатастрофою літака рейсу МН17 над підконтрольною проросійським сепаратистам територією Донбасу влітку 2014 року. Відповідну заяву опублікувало міністерство закордонних справ РФ у четвер, 15 жовтня.
У Москві кажуть, що вихід з консультацій – відповідь на позов Нідерландів проти Росії до Європейського суду з прав людини (ЄСПЛ), який було подано у липні через збиття літака рейсу MH17. Цей позов особливий тим, що його подала держава проти іншої держави.
У російському МЗС назвали цей крок „недружніми діями”. „Подібні недружні дії Нідерландів позбавляють сенсу продовження тристоронніх консультацій і нашу участь в них. Відповідальність за зрив тристоронніх консультацій, таким чином, повністю лежить на офіційній Гаазі”, – йдеться у повідомленні міністерства.
При цьому у російському зовнішньополітичному відомстві запевнили, що вони мають „намір продовжити взаємодію з компетентними органами Нідерландів, в тому числі у справі дослідження питання про незакриття Україною свого повітряного простору для польотів цивільних літаків” над непідконтрольною Києву частиною Донбасу. У МЗС РФ зазначили, що робитимуть це „вже в інших форматах”.
Росія погодилася на тристоронні консультації в 2018 році. Як стверджують у Москві, за цей час відбулося три раунди.
Уряд Нідерландів „дуже шкодує” про це рішення Росії. „Російська Федерація повідомила нам, що в односторонньому порядку вирішила припинити переговори щодо відповідальності за збиття рейсу MH17”, – заявив міністр закордонних справ Нідерландів Стеф Блок, цитує агентство новин Reuters. Він назвав це рішення дуже болючим для родичів жертв.
Літак Boeing-777 авіакомпанії Malaysia Airlines, що виконував рейс Амстердам – Куала-Лумпур, був збитий в небі над підконтрольною бойовикам частиною Донецької області 17 липня 2014 року. Тоді загинули 298 осіб.
Міжнародна слідча група (JIT) дійшла висновку, що рейс MH17 був збитий ракетою з комплексу ППО „Бук”, привезеного з Росії. Обвинувачення висунули проти чотирьох осіб. З них троє росіян – це Ігор Гіркін, який на той час був „міністром оборони” самопроголошеної „Донецької народної республіки”, Сергій Дубинський на прізвисько „Хмурий” та Олег Пулатов. Усіх трьох пов’язують з російськими спецслужбами. Четвертим обвинуваченим став громадянин України Леонід Харченко, який воював на боці сепаратистів. Прокуратура Нідерландів вважає, що всі вони відіграли ключову роль в доставці та використанні „Бука”.

Величезні лісові пожежі в Каліфорнії настільки сильні, що вони створили справжню проблему із забрудненням навколишнього середовища. Десятки тисяч жителів штату Каліфорнія просто втікають із цього району і вже залишилися без житла.
Як повідомила сьогодні газета The New York Times, пожежі у Каліфорнії загрожують знищенням близько 25 тисячам будинків і будівель в штаті. В управлінні пожежної охорони Каліфорнії тим часом заявили про те, що кількість лісових пожеж збільшується багато у чому через виснаження ресурсів рятувальних служб. На цьому тлі влада Каліфорнії як і раніше не дочекалася федеральної допомоги від Білого дому.
За інформацією видання The Guardian, багато пожеж виходять з-під контролю, і саме вони змусили людей покинути свої будинки. Дим від численних пожеж забруднив повітря, що викликало нову стурбованість у жителів із респіраторними захворюваннями, у тому числі у людей, які страждають від COVID-19. Сукупність ряду факторів: аномальна спека, ураження органів дихання смертельною інфекцією у першу чергу і тривале зростання випадків захворювання COVID-19 у Каліфорнії, що стала «гарячою точкою» коронавірусу у США, перетворює життя простих каліфорнійців на справжнє пекло.
Як повідомляє видання San Francisco Chronicle, учора дим від лісових пожеж «пофарбував» небо над районом затоки Річардсон у червоний колір, створивши ще більше «нездорову» атмосферу і посиливши «пандемічне занепокоєння» у регіоні. Атмосферні проби показали, що якість повітря у Північній Каліфорнії за станом на 20 годину 19 серпня було найгіршим у світі.
Загалом, штат Каліфорнія бореться з понад 350-ма локальними пожежами. Про це, зокрема, на прес-конференції 19 серпня повідомив губернатор штату Гевін Ньюсом. За його словами, метеорологічна служба Каліфорнії протягом останніх 72 годин 10849 раз фіксувала удари блискавок, які й спровокували загоряння у посушливій місцевості.
За словами офіційних осіб штату, незвичайна гроза і потужна хвиля тепла призвели до особливо сильного сезону пожеж у цьому році.
«Намагатися управляти лісовими пожежами у Каліфорнії – все одно, що стримувати приливну хвилю», – повідомив в інтерв’ю виданню Associated Press вчений Колумбійського університету Парк Вільямс. За його словами, масштабні пожежі в Каліфорнії неминучі, і ситуація з лісовими пожежами з року у рік стає гіршою.
До відома, загальна площа, спалена лісовими пожежами у Каліфорнії, з 1972 року збільшилася більш ніж у п’ять разів – з п’ятирічного середнього показника у 611 квадратних кілометрів (1972 рік) до 3610 квадратних кілометрів вже цього року.

Ще минулого року в Лівані загострилися проблеми: значно зросли вартість життя, інфляція та безробіття, зазначив експерт з комунікацій регіонального відділення UNICEF в Угорщині Саболч Кардош на угорському телеканалі М1.
За словами експерта, у 2019-му вартість життя в Лівані, тобто ціни на основні продукти харчування та житло, підвищилася на 169 відсотків. Паралельно рівень безробіття зріс до 33 відсотків, водночас були постійні відключення електроенергії. Цю ситуацію ще більше погіршили епідемія коронавірусу та вибух селітри в порту минулого тижня.
Саболч Кардош також додав, що 300 000 людей втратили помешкання внаслідок вибуху, зокрема щонайменше 80–100 тисяч дітей, багато з них втратили зв’язок зі своїми сім’ями, самі блукають містом, намагаючись вижити.
На думку експерта, тепер найважливіше – забезпечити дітей, які пережили катастрофу, їжею та організувати медичну допомогу. Він додав, що в Бейруті внаслідок вибуху серйозно пошкоджено 12 медичних закладів, де лікували новонароджених та вагітних.
