Környezetkárosítás miatt feljelentést tett a Tiszán, a Krasznán és a Szamoson érkező kommunális hulladék miatt a Jobbik – jelentette be a magyar ellenzéki párt két politikusa sajtótájékoztatón szerdán.
Adorján Béla, a Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg megyei közgyűlés képviselője a nyíregyházi ukrán konzulátus előtt tartott eseményen elmondta, a feljelentést ugyan ismeretlen tettes ellen tette meg a párt, de a bizonyítékaik alapján egyértelmű, hogy a folyókat évek óta szennyező hulladék Ukrajnából és Romániából érkezik. Szavai szerint az elmúlt húsz év „diplomáciai udvariaskodása” sehová nem vezet, a környezetszennyezés megállítása érdekében indított tárgyalások és intézkedések pedig eredménytelenek.
Utalt arra, hogy a kormánynak vannak törekvései a vízfelszínen úszó hulladék leszedésére, de – tette hozzá – ez csak szükségmegoldás és kárenyhítés, a szennyezést nem szünteti meg. „Felszólítjuk a magyar lakosságot, hogy ha tehetik, a rájuk eső szemetet zsákokba gyűjtsék össze és adják vissza a szennyező ország képviselőinek vagy a szennyező országnak!” – közölte Adorján Béla.
Gyüre Csaba, a párt országgyűlési képviselője elmondta, a környezetkárosítás miatt megtett feljelentés ügyében a Legfőbb Ügyészség rendelt el nyomozást. Hozzátette, a magyar kormány az elmúlt húsz évben semmilyen lépést nem tett a szennyezés felszámolására, valamint a kármentesítés költségeinek megtérítését sem kérte a szennyező országoktól, holott erre a nemzetközi egyezmények szerint lenne lehetősége.
A Jobbik a konkrét szennyezés ügyében a büntetőjogi felelősség megállapítását, valamint a nemzetközi szerződések betartását, és önálló környezetvédelmi minisztérium felállítását követeli – mondta Gyüre Csaba.
A tájékoztatót követően az ellenzéki politikusok két, a Tiszából kiszedett hulladékkal megtöltött zsákot helyeztek el az ukrán konzulátus bejáratánál.

Óriási pénzbírság, csaknem 146 milliárd rubel (572 milliárd forint) kifizetésére kötelezte pénteken egy orosz bíróság a Nornickel bányaipari óriás egyik leányvállalatát a tavaly májusban bekövetkezett környezetszennyezésért.
A Krasznojarszki terület döntőbíróságán zajló perben az orosz környezetvédelmi felügyelet (Roszprirodnadzor) 148 millió rubel pénzbüntetést kért a Nornickel energiaipari leányvállalatára, a NTEK-re a környezeti károk miatt.
A törvényszék részben méltányolta a kérést, és kétmilliárddal csökkentette az összeget, így a vállalatnak csak 146 milliárd rubelt kell fizetnie – ismertette a döntést Natalja Varigina bíró.
Tavaly május végén a NTEK-hez tartozó hőerőmű egyik olajtározójából húszezer tonna nyersanyag ömlött ki, miután megsüllyedt a létesítmény tartószerkezete. A környezetvédelmi felügyelet 148 milliárd rubelre becsülte a környezeti károk nagyságát, a Nornickel azonban nem értett egyet a számolási módszerrel, és úgy kalkulált, hogy az okozott kár ennél közel hétszer kisebb, 21,4 milliárd rubel.
A Nornickel (Norilszkij nikel) a világ legnagyobb, nikkelt és palládiumot bányászó és olvasztó vállalata, a réztermelésben pedig a hetedik a világon. A cég ezenkívül tucatnyi nemes és értékes fémet termel kezdve a platinától és aranytól egészen az irídiumig.

Egy baleset miatt 50 ezer, korábban fogságban tartott lazac került ki az ausztrál vizekbe. Helyi környezetvédők szerint a halak károsíthatják a környezetet.
Kisebb tűz ütött ki hétfőn a Tasmaniában található Huon Aquaculture nevű halgazdaság területén, amely következtében 50 ezer tenyésztett lazac került a vizekbe – írta a The Guardian.
A helyi környezetvédők szerint a lazacsereg potenciális veszélyt jelent az ökoszisztémára, ugyanis károsíthatják azt: a vizekbe kerülő új halak kiszoríthatják az őshonos fajokat, bizonyos állatok pedig éhen halhatnak miattuk. A kritikusok, többek közt a halállomány gondozói viszont úgy vélekednek, hogy a környezetvédők túloznak, és az ügyből semmi baj nem származhat.
A halgazdaság nem tervezi begyűjteni a halakat, mivel a veszteségük elenyésző: az állománynak mindössze 1 százalékát teszik ki a szökevény lazacok. Ráadásul előbb-utóbb úgyis elpusztulnának – vagy a fókák eszik meg vagy halászok fogják ki őket. A telep működtetői egy 2018-as tanulmányra is hivatkoznak, melyben arról írnak, hogy a gazdaságban szaporított lazacok általában nem bántják az őshonos fajokat. A környezetvédők ezzel szemben azonnali vizsgálatot sürgetnek.
A halak egyébként akkor jutottak a vizekbe, amikor a tűz kárt okozott a tárolásukra szolgáló felületben. Hogy mindez hogyan történt, egyelőre nem ismert, csak az, hogy az incidens után a halak nagyobb számban eltűntek a telepről.
A lazacok nagyjából 4 kilogramm súlyúak. Az még nem biztos, hogy pontosan 50 ezer jutott ki belőlük. A halgazdaság működtetője szerint lehetséges, hogy valamivel több egyedről van szó.

Az ökológiai biztonságért felelős állami ellenőrök több mint 7 millió hrivnyára büntették meg az ArcerolMittal Krivij Rih vállalatot környezetszennyezés miatt.
A cégnél szeptemberben tartottak ellenőrzést és megállapították, hogy az üzem túllépte a megengedett kén-dioxid- és nitrogén-oxid-kibocsátást. A vállalat elismerte a vádat, s be is fizette az állami költségvetésbe 7 103 989,07 hrvinyát.
Az ArcerolMittal a világ legnagyobb kohászati vállalata. 2006-ban alakult a luxemburgi Arcelor és az indiai Mittal Steel egyesülésének eredményeként. A cég számos fiókkal is rendelkezik, többek között Krivij Rihben is.

Olaszország megsértette a környezeti levegő minőségére vonatkozó uniós jogot, mivel 2008 és 2017 között folyamatosan túllépte a PM10 szálló por koncentrációjára vonatkozó határértékeket – közölte az Európai Unió Bírósága kedden. A döntést megelőző kötelezettségszegési eljárást, az Európai Bizottság 2014-ben indította a dél-európai ország ellen.
A luxemburgi testület szerint a 10 mikrométernél kisebb átmérőjű részecskékre vonatkozó küszöbátlépések a nagyvárosokban, Rómában, Milánóban és Palermóban fordultak elő leginkább. A bíróság megállapította továbbá, hogy Olaszország nem tette meg a kellő időben a légszennyezettség csökkentésére uniós szinten megkövetelt intézkedéseket. Az unió tiszta levegőre vonatkozó jogszabályai szerint egy év alatt a PM10 szintje nem lépheti át 35 nappal tovább az 50 mikron/köbmétert.
Az egészségügyi világszervezet szerint a PM10-kibocsátás alacsonyan tartása nagyon fontos, túllépése szív- és érrendszeri, valamint légzőszervi megbetegedéseket okozhat, és hozzájárulhat a tüdőrák kialakulásához.
Amennyiben Olaszország nem tesz késedelem nélkül intézkedéseket az uniós jogszabályok végrehajtására, több millió euróval bírságolhatják meg.
Európában évente 400 ezren halnak meg a szennyezett levegő miatt. A rossz levegő évente több mint 20 milliárd euró kárt okoz az európai gazdaságnak.

A vállalat a sérült tartályból a benne maradt folyadékot tartálykocsikkal egy másik tartályba szállította át, a sérült helyet pedig földgáttal lokalizálta. Este 19:20-kor a rendkívüli helyzetek szolgálatának munkatársai megszüntették a folyadék ömlését a tartályból, és éjfélre felszámolták a baleset következményeit.
A rendőrség büntetőeljárást indított az ügyben környezet- és talajszennyezés címén.

Jelentős a Tisza és mellékfolyóinak mikroműanyag-szennyezettsége, a Szegedi Tudományegyetem (SZTE) kutatóinak mérései szerint átlagosan 3200 mikroműanyag-szemcse található egy kilogramm partmenti üledékben – tájékoztatta a felsőoktatási intézmény közkapcsolati igazgatósága hétfőn az MTI-t.
A közlemény szerint az SZTE Természeti Földrajzi és Geoinformatikai Tanszék munkatársai a Tisza teljes hosszán és a nagyobb mellékfolyók torkolat-közeli szakaszain a folyóvízi üledékben található mikroműanyag-szennyezést vizsgálják.
Kiss Tímea egyetemi docens kifejtette: a 2019 óta végzett kutatómunka célja felmérni, honnan érkezik műanyagszennyezés a Tiszába, és hogy alakul annak mértéke a folyó teljes hosszán. A műanyag a szennyvízzel és a hulladék nem megfelelő elhelyezésével juthat be a folyókba, összetöredezik, 5 milliméternél kisebb darabokból álló mikroműanyaggá válik, amit a folyók elszállíthatnak, illetve a hordalékkal együtt lerakják. A kutatás első eredményei alapján a Tiszán átlagosan 3200 mikroműanyag-szemcse van egy kilogramm partmenti üledékben, míg a mellékfolyók esetében a szennyezettség értéke kilogrammonként 4100 darab. Különösen magas a mért szennyezés a kárpátaljai Nagyág és a Romániából érkező Maros esetében. Egyes helyeken a magyarországi szakaszon is jelentős mennyiségű műanyag juthat a folyóba, hiszen Dombrádnál, Nagykörűnél és Csongrádnál kiugróan magas műanyag-koncentrációt mutattak a helyi strandok környezetéből gyűjtött mintákban.
A folyóvízi mintákban nem találtak tisztítószerekből és kozmetikai szerekből – például arcradírból – származó gömb alakú mikroműanyagot, illetve a zacskók lebomlásával keletkező műanyagfoszlány mennyisége is elhanyagolható volt. Az üledékmintákat inkább a különböző színű szálak uralták, amelyek nagy valószínűséggel a környezetbe kijutó, nem megfelelően tisztított, műszál maradványokat tartalmazó mosóvízből, esetleg kidobott ruhák vagy kötözőanyagok bomlásából származhatnak.
Az SZTE Természettudományi és Informatikai Kar Földrajzi és Földtudományi Intézet kutatói a mintavételt a 2020-as tavaszi árvizet követően megismételték, a laboratóriumi vizsgálatok folyamatosak. Az újabb méréssorozathoz a korábbinál is több helyről gyűjtöttek mintát, így vizsgálhatóvá vált például, hogy van-e összefüggés az üledék szemcsemérete és a szennyeződés koncentrációja között, illetve az árvíz újrarendezte-e a mikroműanyagok eloszlását a Tisza vízrendszerében – áll a közleményben.
