Az ötvenes éveiben járó férfi ellen 2020 januárjában kapott bejelentést a londoni rendőrség azzal a gyanúval, hogy 2002 és 2009 között, hét éven át zaklatott valakit, vagy valakiket.
A hivatalos információk szerint a zaklatások Londonban történtek, a férfit szexuális zaklatással, szexuális erőszakkal, bizalommal való visszaéléssel és közhatalommal való visszaéléssel gyanúsítják.
A Konzervatív Párt frakcióvezetője azonnali hatállyal felfüggesztette a képviselőt a parlamentből a vizsgálat idejére, és nem kommentálta a történteket.

Bár a járványhelyzet miatti tömeges halálozások számának növekedése lassulóban van, a brit fővárosban a korlátozások csökkenésével ismét visszatért minden a régi kerékvágásba, beleértve a gyilkosságokat is.
Az elmúlt héten Londonban hét halálesethez riasztották a rendőröket,
melyek közül az első múlt pénteken történt, amikor egy fiatal fiút szúrtak le fényes nappal.
Az eset után egy nappal, július 11-én egy idős férfit ütöttek el, aki belehalt sérüléseibe, de még aznap négy másik késelésről is beszámoltak a jelentések, melyek nem voltak halálos kimenetelűek.
A legaggasztóbb, hogy a legtöbb esetben arról számolnak be, hogy nem történt letartóztatás az ügyben, tehát a tettesek még ma is szabadlábon lehetnek.
Vasárnap Kensingtonnál történt gyilkosság, de aznap nemcsak ez okozott fejfájást a hatóságoknak, hanem az asztalok és székek, amelyekkel fejbeverték őket, miután megpróbáltak feloszlatni egy gyülekezést a város pénzügyi negyedében.
Az utcai lövöldözéseken kívül, mely egyébként szokatlan egy erős lőfegyverbirtoklási szabályozással rendelkező országban, már másnap újabb késelést jelentettek, amikor szintén egy védtelen fiatalt késeltek halálra Maida Valeben.
Július 16-án a hatóság Twitter bejegyzésben tette közzé, hogy két halálos áldozata is van a már egyre gyakoribbnak számító lövöldözéseknek.
Pénteken már két gyilkosság ügyében is nyomozott a Metropolitan rendőrség, mindkettő késeléshez köthető haláleset volt.
Ezzel hét nap leforgása alatt hét halálesetet regisztráltak, ami aggasztó tendencia tekintve, hogy még csak most kezdte el lazítani a főváros a kijárási korlátozásait, és nem tudni mi lesz, ha teljesen fel is oldja azokat.
London munkáspárti, pakisztáni migráns hátterű polgármestere ráadásul 110 millió fonttal (kb. 120 millió euró) csökkentette a rendőrség támogatását, ezt június végén jelentette be. Sadiq Khan szerint a járvány miatt csökkent a főváros bevétele, ezért volt szükség erre az intézkedésre.
Khan kritikusai ezt a lépést viszont a radikális baloldali mozgalmak követelésével hozzák összefüggésbe, hiszen azok a rendőrség költségvetésének a radikális csökkentését, szélsőséges esetben pedig az erőszakszerv megszüntetését követelik.

Beregszászban a 2. Galíciai dandár 3. zászlóaljának gárdistái a rendőrség munkatársaival közösen vettek őrizetbe egy férfit, akit zsarolással vádolnak. A bejelentés a rendvédelmi szervek munkatársainak a hivatali iPadára érkezett. Egy nő állítása szerint, 900 USA dollárt kell fizetnie a fiát érintő kompromittáló információért. A helyszínre érkező rendőrök elfogták a zsarolót.
Egy másik közös járőrözés során Beregszászban letartóztattak egy férfit, akinek a tulajdonában feltehetően tiltott szer volt. Késő este a Munkácsi utcában a rendvédelmi szervek munkatársai egy férfire lettek figyelmesek, aki észrevehetően idegesen viselkedett a rendőrök megjelenése miatt. Ezért a rendőrök úgy döntöttek ellenőrzik a férfit. A motozás során a nadrágzsebében egy kis csomagot találtak, amiben fehér színű, por állagú anyag volt, külsőre amfetaminra emlékeztetett. A becsült súlya 5 gramm.
