Wab Kinew elmondta, hogy Manitoba történetének eddigi legnagyobb evakuációs műveletéről van szó. Az egész tartományra vészhelyzetet hirdettek az erdőtüzek miatt, a régióban ugyanis jelenleg 22 aktív erdőtűz pusztít.
A manitobai kormányfő arról is tájékoztatott: a hadsereg segítségét kérték az evakuálási és oltási munkálatokhoz. A szövetségi kormány haladéktalanul katonai repülőgépeket bocsát rendelkezésre, amelyekkel Manitoba északi, félreesőbb településeiről is biztonságba tudják helyezni az embereket – mondta el Kinew.
A legnagyobb veszély az 5 ezer lakosú Flin Flon várost fenyegeti, ahol az embereket felszólították arra, hogy rövid időn belül hagyják el otthonukat. A városból kivezető egyetlen autópályán dugó alakult ki, a helyi benzinkutakról elfogyott az üzemanyag.
Idén Manitobában már 102 erdőtüzet észleltek, ami jóval meghaladja a tartományra jellemző átlagot. A térségben hosszú ideje aszály van, és szokatlanul magas hőmérsékleteket mérnek. Május közepén meghalt két ember, akinek a házát bekerítették a lángok Lac-du-Bonnet faluban. Egy hónap alatt közel 200 ezer hektár erdő égett le Manitobában, több mint háromszor annyi, mint az elmúlt öt év átlagában. Kanada-szerte jelenleg 134 erdőtűz pusztít, felerészt minden kontroll nélkül.

Svájc déli részén jelenleg is jelentős hegyomlás zajlik, a 3341 méteres Kleines Nesthorn hegyről eddig mintegy 1,5 millió köbméter kőtörmelék zúdult a mélybe – közölte Wallis kanton szakértője egy szerdai sajtótájékoztatón. A kantonban a hét elején egy 300 fős falut evakuálni kellett, mivel a település fölött hatalmas sziklatömegek mozdultak meg.
A földcsuszamlás veszélye miatt hétfőn teljesen kiürítették a népszerű üdülőövezetben, a Lötschen-völgyben fekvő Blatten falut.
Mintegy 300 embert kellett kitelepíteni, az állatokat pedig szintén biztonságos helyre szállították.
A Lötschen-völgy krízisközpontjának szóvivője közölte: összesen 190 juhot, 26 szarvasmarhát és körülbelül 20 nyulat menekítettek ki. Köztük volt egy sérült tehén, Loni is, amelyet kedden csak helikopterrel tudtak biztonságosan elszállítani. A légi evakuálást a helyszínen dolgozó Keystone-SDA fotósa is megörökítette.
Blatten polgármestere a szerdai sajtótájékoztatón méltatta a lakosság gyors és fegyelmezett együttműködését a szombat óta zajló kitelepítés során.
A kanton természeti veszélyekkel foglalkozó szakértője, Alban Brigger elmondta: eddig a Kleines Nesthorn oldalában található, könnyen leomló kőzettömeg mintegy egyharmada zúdult le.
A hatóságok abban bíznak, hogy a további kőomlás kisebb szakaszokban történik majd, nem pedig egyetlen hatalmas tömbként.
Ugyanakkor aggodalomra ad okot, hogy a lezúdult törmelék jelentős része a hegyoldal aljában fekvő gleccseren torlódott fel – tette hozzá Brigger. Véleménye szerint fennáll a veszélye annak, hogy a gleccser is megindul, és a törmelék elzárja a völgyben kanyargó Lonza folyót.
Egy nappal korábban Brigger úgy fogalmazott: eddig a „lehető legjobb forgatókönyv” valósult meg. Néhány kisebb sárlavina ugyan lecsúszott a hegyről, ám az 1,5 millió köbméter kőtörmelék egyelőre elakadt a hegy egy magasabb szintjén. A legrosszabb forgatókönyv szerint akár 5 millió tonna kő is alázúdulhat.
Hasonló helyzetre 2023-ban is volt példa, ekkor a kelet-svájci Brienz falut kellett evakuálni sziklaomlás veszélye miatt.

„Az evakuálás nyugodtan és szervezetten zajlott le. Mindenkit sikerült elhelyezni rokonok vagy ismerősök otthonaiban, illetve szállodákban. Az érintett turistákat közeli hotelekbe költöztettük” – közölte Ebener.

Súlyos, 7,5-ös erősségű földrengés rázta meg Chile déli partvidékét péntek reggel, melynek következtében szökőárriadót adtak ki és evakuálást rendeltek el a Magallanes régióban – közölték a chilei hatóságok.
Szökőárriadót adtak ki és evakuálást rendeltek el, miután hatalmas, 7,5-es erősségű földrengés rázta meg Chile és Argentína partvidékét – írta a The Sun.
A rengés a Drake-átjáró térségében, Puerto Williamstől délre, a Horn-fok és az Antarktisz között történt, 6,2 mérföldes (kb. 10 km) mélységben – erősítette meg az Egyesült Államok Geológiai Szolgálata (USGS). A Chilei Haditengerészet Hidrográfiai és Oceanográfiai Szolgálata (SHOA) szerint a földrengés 135 mérfölddel (kb. 217 km) délre történt Puerto Williamstől.
A rengés következtében a chilei Nemzeti Katasztrófavédelmi Szolgálat (SENAPRED) azonnal elrendelte a part menti területek evakuálását a Magallanes régióban, valamint elővigyázatossági figyelmeztetést adott ki a chilei antarktiszi területekre is.
A közösségi médiában és hírügynökségi felvételeken drámai jelenetek láthatók: civilek sietve hagyták el épületeiket és biztonsági gyülekezőhelyekre indultak. A földrengés helyi idő szerint reggel 9 óra előtt történt.
A hatóságok jelenleg is elemzik a földrengés hatásait az infrastruktúrára és az alapvető közszolgáltatásokra, és az eseményről hivatalos jelentésekben számolnak majd be. Egyelőre nem érkezett jelentés súlyosabb károkról vagy sérültekről. A Magallanes régió és a közeli lakott területek jelenleg is fokozott készültségben vannak, a hatóságok arra kérik a lakosokat, kövessék az evakuálási és biztonsági utasításokat.

Donyeck megye vezetése úgy határozott, hogy kényszerű evakuálással minden gyermeket elszállít Sahove és Torecke településekről, amelyek mindössze 15–20 kilométerre fekszenek a frontvonaltól – számolt be róla az Ukrajinszka Pravda nyomán az Index.
Sahov közösség két falujában megkezdjük a gyermekek kényszerű evakuálását szüleikkel vagy törvényes képviselőikkel együtt. Sahov és Torecke falvakról van szó

Tisztázta, hogy ezt a döntést május 2-án hozták meg. Összesen körülbelül 80 gyermek él ezeken a településeken.
Utasítottam a helyi hatóságokat és a Regionális Államigazgatás szervezeti egységeinek vezetőit, hogy a lehető leghamarabb szervezzék meg a gyermekes családok megfelelő evakuálását, és biztosítsák számukra a megfelelő életkörülményeket Ukrajna egy biztonságosabb területén

Április 1-jén 14 óra 46 perckor érkezett bejelentés az ungvári rendőrségre arról, hogy az egyik helyi iskola diákjánál robbanószerkezet találtak.
Az Oktatásbiztonsági Szolgálat felügyelője a biztonsági intézkedések megtételével haladéktalanul evakuálta az oktatási intézményből az összes tanulót és dolgozót.
Kiderült, hogy a gyanús tárgyat az egyik ötödik osztályos hozta be hátizsákban az iskolába.
A rendőrség robbanóanyag-technikusai a helyszínen dolgoztak, és megállapították, hogy egy 82 mm-es aknavető kis méretű makettjéről van szó. A nyomozók lefoglalták a tárgyat. A gyermekek életét és egészségét nem fenyegette veszély.
A fiatalkorúak ügyeivel foglalkozó rendőrök beszélgetést folytattak az iskolás fiú családjával.

A balesetben érintett MV Stena Immaculate hajó üzemeltetője, az amerikai logisztikai vállalat, a Crowley megerősítette, hogy a hajó repülőgép-üzemanyagot szállított, és a baleset következtében az a tengerbe került. Az ökológiai katasztrófa mértéke még nem ismert.

Több ezer lakost evakuáltak Japán északi részén, ahol 1992 óta a legnagyobb területen pusztítottak erdőtüzek, amelyek a hatóságok vasárnapi tájékoztatása szerint egy ember halálát okozták.
A tüzek szerdai kitörése óta mintegy kétezer ember menekült el az észak-japáni Ivate erdős vidékén fekvő Ofunato város körüli területekről – derült ki a hatóságok beszámolójából. Sokan barátoknál vagy rokonoknál találtak menedéket, és több mint 1200 embert menedékhelyeken helyeztek el – tették hozzá. Legalább egy ember meghalt a lángokban, amelyek több mint 80 épületet megrongáltak.
„Még mindig próbáljuk meghatározni az érintett terület nagyságát, de 1992 óta ez a legnagyobb” – hangoztatta a hivatal szóvivője. Akkor az északi Hokkaidó szigetén fekvő Kusiróban 1030 hektáron pusztított tűz.
Sajtóértesülések szerint a lángok már 1800 hektárra terjedtek ki.
Az NHK közszolgálati műsorszolgáltató légi felvételein katonai helikopterek még füstfelhők felett repülnek, négy nappal a tűz kitörése után is.
A kormányzati adatok szerint az erdőtüzek száma az 1970-es évekbeli csúcspont óta csökkent, de az országban 2023-ban még mindig mintegy 1300-at regisztráltak, amelyek a februártól áprilisig tartó időszakra koncentrálódnak, amikor a levegő kiszárad és a szél felerősödik.
A helyi meteorológiai szolgálat tájékoztatása szerint 2024 volt a valaha mért legmelegebb év Japánban.
