A monszunesőzések következtében a megáradt folyók csütörtök óta kilenc körzetet és várost öntöttek el Nyugat-Szumátra tartományban. Pénteken késő este egy nagyobb sárlavina miatt egy folyó kilépett a medréből és elöntötte a hegyvidéki falvakat is – írja az AP News.
A mentési műveleteket az áramkimaradások, megrongálódott hidak és a sűrű sár és törmelék által elzárt utak akadályozták – közölte a Nemzeti Katasztrófavédelmi Ügynökség.
A mentők több holttestet találtak, főként Pesisir Selatan és a szomszédos Padang Pariaman körzet legsúlyosabban érintett falvaiban, így a halálos áldozatok száma 26-ra emelkedett.
A földcsuszamlások legalább 14 házat temettek maguk alá. A mentők még mindig 11 eltűnt személyt keresnek.
Muhari szerint a monszunesőzések Nyugat-Szumátra tartományban több mint 37 ezer házat és épületet öntöttek el. Legalább három házat elsodort a hirtelen áradás, és 666 másik ház megrongálódott.
Az áradások 26 hidat, 45 mecsetet és 25 iskolát és 13 utat is megrongáltak. Ezenkívül két öntözőrendszer-egység is tönkrement, amelyek 113 hektárnyi rizsföldet és 300 négyzetméternyi ültetvényt öntöztek – írja az ABC News.

A tartományi katasztrófavédelmi hatóság vasárnapi közleményben osztotta meg, hogy az Afganisztánnal határos Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tartomány különböző területeiről legkevesebb 23 halálesetet jelentettek csütörtök este óta az ítéletidővel összefüggésben.

A Nemzeti Katasztrófavédelmi Hatóság később egy külön közleményében tájékoztatott arról, hogy a heves esőzések és a földcsuszamlások nyomán a Pakisztán igazgatása alatt álló Kasmírból is halálos áldozatokról és jelentős károkról érkeztek jelentések.
A hivatal ennek kapcsán megjegyezte, az érintett területeken élők számára sürgősségi segélyt biztosítottak, hozzátéve, hogy nehézgépeket is bevetettek annak érdekében, hogy eltakarítsák a jelentős mennyiségű törmeléket az autópályákról, melyek miatt leállt a közlekedés. Az autópályák számos szakaszán azonban még mindig lezárások vannak érvényben a földcsuszamlások miatt.

Legalább kilenc bányász a föld alatt rekedt, miután földcsuszamlás miatt beomlott a kelet-törökországi Ilic település melletti aranybánya – jelentette be kedden a város polgármestere.
Bekir Aksun a Habertürk televízió állomásnak nyilatkozva elmondta, úgy tudja, hogy legfeljebb 10-12 ember rekedt a bányában.
A török sajtó Ali Yerlikaya belügyminisztert idézve arról számolt be, hogy a bánya 667-en dolgozójából kilenc bányász sorsa nem ismert, hozzátéve, hogy egy 400 fős mentőcsapat indult a keresésükre.
Az Afad, a török katasztrófavédelmi hivatal közlése szerint a földcsuszamlás az Erzincan közelében található Ilic település mellett következett be helyi idő szerint 14 óra 30 perckor, és a környező településekről azonnal mentőcsapatokat küldtek a helyszínre.

Suleyman Pampal geológus a Habertürk televízióban azt mondta, hogy a földcsuszamlás miatt olyan föld zúdult le a hegyoldalból, amelyet a bányászati eljárásban használtak, így veszélyes anyagokat, például cianidot is tartalmazhat. A tudós arra is figyelmeztetett, hogy ennek a veszélyes anyagnak nem szabad elérnie a közelben található Eufrátesz folyó medrét, mert különben súlyos környezeti katasztrófa következne be.
A bányát 2009 óta üzemeltető vállalat, az Anagold, valamint Yilmaz Tunc igazságügyminiszter egyaránt bejelentette, hogy vizsgálatot indítottak a földcsuszamlás pontos okának kiderítésére.
A bányaomlás hírére közösségi médianyilatkozatban reagált a török mérnöki és építészkamarát képviselő egyesület. Azt írták, azért nem lepte meg őket a katasztrófa, mert már korábban is arra hívták fel a figyelmet, hogy a bányát üzemeltető vállalat ellen két jogi eljárás is folyamatban van; ezért az ilici bánya bezárását, majd a terület környezetvédelmi helyreállítását is javasolták.

A tartományban január vége óta heves esőzések okoznak áradásokat és földcsuszamlásokat. A Fülöp-szigeteki kormány adatai szerint a természeti katasztrófa, amelynek már több mint 20 halálos áldozata volt, mintegy 800 ezer embert érintett a térségben.

Landfill Collapse in Philippines Leaves at Least One Dead, 38 Still Missing – 🇵🇭Officials
A deadly avalanche of garbage and debris that buried workers at a landfill in Cebu City has also left several others injured, officials said Friday, as per local media.
At least three students are confirmed dead and five others were injured in a #shooting incident at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, the #Philippines on Monday. Two suspects, both minors, have been arrested.
Legkevesebb húsz halálos áldozata van a Fülöp-szigetek déli részén áradásokat és földcsuszamlásokat okozó heves esőzéseknek – közölték hétfőn az illetékes katasztrófavédelmi hatóságok.
Az esőzések számos halálos áldozatot követeltek a Fülöp-szigetek délkeleti részén található Mindanao szigetén, Davao de Oro tartományban 13 ember meghalt, ketten eltűntek, a szomszédos Davao de Norte tartományban további hét halálesetről számoltak be a hatóságok.
Az északkeletről érkező óceáni szél január 28. és február 2. között heves esőzéseket okozott Mindanao alacsony légnyomású, hegyvidéki területeire érve. A lehulló csapadék halálos kimenetelű áradásokat és földcsuszamlásokat okozott – erősítette meg a nemzeti katasztrófavédelem.

A földcsuszamlás Zhaotong városban, helyi idő szerint 5.51-kor történt. Hszi Csin-ping elnök mentőcsapatokat küldött a helyszínre, miután csaknem 50 ember eltűnt.
A BBC szerint a földcsuszamlás oka egyelőre tisztázatlan. Ugyanakkor hozzátették, a hegyvidéki régiókban ez nem ritka jelenség.
