Görögország kiutasít kilenc európai állampolgárt az országból, akiket egy Athénban szervezett palesztinpárti tüntetés során vettek őrizetbe – közölték hétfőn a gyanúsítottak ügyvédei.
A görög rendőrség összesen 28 görög és külföldi állampolgárt vett őrizetbe az Athéni Egyetem jogi karát elfoglaló palesztinpárti tiltakozás során a múlt héten. A gyanúsítottak tagadták, hogy bármilyen jogsértést követtek volna el.
Az őrizetbe vettek közül a görög állampolgárokat május 28-ára kitűzött tárgyalásukig szabadlábra helyezték, azonban a brit, francia, olasz és spanyol állampolgárságú tüntetők a kitoloncolásukig őrizetben maradnak.
A külföldi tüntetők ügyvédei közleményben tudatták, hogy védenceik ellen kiutasítási végzést adtak ki, amely egyben azt is megakadályozza, hogy részt vegyenek a tárgyalásukon.
Az őrizetbe vett külföldiek közül két, Görögországban dolgozó és élő gyanúsított ügyvédje közölte, hogy védenceik várhatóan fellebbeznek a döntés ellen, egyikük „önkényesnek és törvénytelennek” nevezte védencének kitoloncolását.
Az athéni vezetés 2019-ben hatályon kívül helyezte azt a törvényt, amely megtiltotta a rendőrség számára az egyetemekre való belépést.
A törvényt a 1973-as athéni diáklázadás „örökségeként” alkották meg a diáktüntetések és a gondolatszabadság védelmében.

Athénban újabb tüntetések és sztrájkok indultak, mivel a folyamatos béremelések ellenére állítólag a munkások még mindig nem tudnak megélni, ezért további korrekciókat követelnek. Emellett palesztinpárti tüntetés is zajlik, ahol a résztvevők a gázai háború ellen tiltakoznak és a mielőbbi tűzszünetet követelik.
Sztrájkok és tüntetések kezdődtek szerdán, május 1-je alkalmából Athénban, az emberek magasabb béreket követeltek, valamint a gázai háború ellen is tiltakoztak. A 24 órás munkabeszüntetéshez csatlakoztak a közlekedési dolgozók is, így a kikötőkből nem indultak hajók, továbbá leállt a busz-és metróforgalom is.
Helyszíni beszámolók szerint több száz tüntető gyűlt össze a görög parlament előtt, többen palesztin zászlókat emeltek a magasba.
Áprilisban már sztrájkoltak a közlekedésben és a fuvarozásban dolgozók az alacsony bérek és a növekvő árak miatt. Görögországban április elején 6,4 százalékkal megemelték a havi minimálbért, így az jelenleg 830 euró (327 ezer forint). Ez az elmúlt öt évben a negyedik ilyen emelés, miközben az ország még mindig próbál kilábalni a több mint egy évtizede tartó pénzügyi válságból. A munkások szerint azonban a béremelés még mindig nem elég arra, hogy megéljenek belőle a folyamatosan emelkedő árak és megélhetési költségek mellett.
Mindeközben februárban az azonos neműek házasságáról szóló törvénytervezet ellen emelte fel hangját a görög nép, márciusban pedig Molotov-koktélok is repkedtek azon a tüntetésen, ahol a magánegyetemek ellen tüntető diákok csaptak össze a rendőrökkel. A palesztinpárti tüntetések pedig végigsöpörnek az egész világon, kedden például a New York-i Columbia Egyetemen okoztak problémát a tüntetők.

Lezuhant egy F–16-os vadászgép szerdán gyakorlórepülés közben az Égei-tengeren, az Athéntól 175 kilométerre északkeletre fekvő Pszatúra sziget közelében, az illetékesek mentőakciót indítottak, miután a pilóta katapultált – közölték a görög hatóságok szerdán.
Helyi tisztségviselők elmondása szerint két helikopter, két katonai repülőgép és egy haditengerészeti fregatt is részt vett a mentési műveletben, amelyhez később a parti őrség hajói is csatlakoztak.
Görögország jelenleg nagyszabású katonai modernizációs program részeként korszerűsíti F–16-os flottáját. A program célja, hogy lépést tartson a rivális Törökország légi flottájával.
A szerdai baleset néhány órával azután történt, hogy Görögország átvett három amerikai gyártmányú MH-60R Seahawk haditengerészeti helikoptert. A gyártó Lockheed Martin közölte, hogy 2025-ben további négy helikoptert fog leszállítani Görögországnak.

A görög parlament még a nap folyamán szavazni fog a magán felsőoktatási intézmények engedélyezéséről.
A kérdés hetek óta a görög belpolitikai élet kiemelt témája, hiszen az ország alkotmánya eddig tiltotta a magán felsőoktatási intézményeket.
A változtatás bírálói attól tartanak, hogy a jövőben a felsőoktatás már csak az elit számára lesz hozzáférhető, és az állami egyetemeket elhanyagolják.
A diákokon kívül tanárok és különböző szakszervezetek tagjai, valamint baloldali szervezetek is utcára vonultak a délután folyamán. Utóbbiak okoztak felfordulást és támadtak gyújtópalackokkal a rendvédelmi szervekre a parlament épülete előtt.
Időközben a görög törvényhozásban heves vita zajlott.
Kiriákosz Micotákisz görög miniszterelnök kijelentette, hogy „jelenleg több mint 40 ezer görög diák tanul külföldön értékes valutát kiadva”. Mint mondta, ezek a fiatalok a jövőben pénzüket belföldön adhatnák ki, csökkentve ezzel „az agyelszívás” jelenségét.
Az utóbbi években számos görög diák választott külföldi tanulmányokat, mert úgy vélte ott magasabb színvonalú oktatáshoz juthat. A fiatalok gyakran a tanulmányaik helyén telepedtek le, ami miatt a későbbiekben hiányoztak a görög munkaerőpiacról.
Micotákisz hangsúlyozta, hogy az állami felsőoktatási intézmények nem fognak háttérbe szorulni. Mint mondta, középtávon egymilliárd eurót akarnak befektetni az ország egyetemeibe.
Az ellenzék vitatja ezt, szerintük a kormány egyfajta „bevásárlóközpont-oktatást” tervez, amelyben azok jutnak előnyhöz, akik megfelelő pénzügyi hátérrel rendelkeznek.
A magánegyetemek engedélyeztetése azonban szinte biztosra vehető, mert a kormány abszolút többséggel rendelkezik a parlamentben.

Ágyipoloska-fertőzésre figyelmeztető, hamis információkkal ellátott hirdetményekkel próbálják elriasztani a turistákat a görögországi Athénból. 500 eurós bírsággal riogatnak.
Európa-szerte megfigyelhető az ágyi poloskák inváziója. Franciaországban például már válságstábot állítottak fel, hogy elejét vegyék a fertőzés terjedésének. Kártevőirtó cégek arról számoltak be, hogy az elmúlt hónapokban elárasztották őket a fertőzésekkel kapcsolatos hívások. Egy athéni szálloda egy részét be is kellett zárni az ágyi poloskák miatt még október közepén.
Most ismét a görög főváros került a rivaldafénybe.
A városközpontban lévő apartmanházak elé helyeztek ki hirdetményeket, amelyekben – hamisan – ágyipoloska-problémáról szólnak – számolt be az esetről a Euronews.
Athén és Görögország más részei lakhatási válsággal küzdenek. Mivel sok lakást nyaralóházként adnak ki turisták számára, a bérleti díjak emelkednek, a helyiek pedig kiszorulnak.
A görög egészségügyi minisztérium keddi közleményében az olvasható, hogy a szórólapokon látható információk teljesen valótlanok.
Az angolra rosszul lefordított hirdetmények – tévesen – azt állítják, hogy az egészségügyi hatóságok a görög lakosok védelme érdekében távozásra szólították fel a vendégeket.
Azt állítják, poloskaprobléma van, illetve 500 eurós bírsággal fenyegetik a látogatókat, ha nem távoznak.
Az üdülési célú, rövid távú bérbeadások fellendülése hozzájárult a görög bérleti díjak növekedéséhez, ami sokakat kiszorított Athén központjából.
A Euronews szerint a lakásárak is megugrottak, részben a görög kormány politikája miatt, amely külföldi befektetőknek kínál tartózkodási lehetőséget ingatlanbefektetésekért cserébe.
Az adott ügy azért is érdemelt ki jelentős figyelmet, mert a turizmus kulcsfontosságú Görögország gazdasága számára. Az egészségügyi minisztérium kedden közölte, hogy a helyi rendőrséget már megkérték arra, foglalkozzanak a kártékony szórólapokkal.
Hangsúlyozták: senki nem ijesztgetheti a látogatókat, továbbá nem adhat fals információkat a közegészségügyről.

Közepesen erős, 5,2-es magnitúdójú földrengés rázta meg péntek reggel az Athéntól mintegy 80 kilométerre fekvő Evia szigetét.
Péntek kora reggel, 5,3-es erősségű földrengés volt a közép-görögországi Evia szigetén – közölte az Európai-Mediterrán Szeizmológiai Központ (EMSC). A rengés helyi idő szerint 8 óra 26 perckor következett be.
A földmozgást több utórengés is követte. Az érintett terület mintegy 80 kilométerre található Athéntól. A rengéseket Törökországban is érezni lehetett.

A Szporádokhoz tartozó Szkíathosz, Szkopelosz és Alonniszosz szigetén szinte másodpercenként villámlott és dörgött az éjszaka folyamán, a Peloponnészoszi-félsziget nyugati részén található Élisz térségében pedig jégeső tizedelte az olajbogyótermést.
Vóloszban 200 milliméter, a szomszédos Zagorában pedig 516 milliméter csapadék hullott a görög meteorológiai intézet szerint.
Artopiosz elmondta, hogy a vóloszi kórház alagsorát elöntötte a víz, és a tűzoltók jelenleg is dolgoznak a kiszivattyúzásán.
Évia szigetén az esőzés földcsuszamlásokhoz vezetett.
Meteorológusok szerint az időjárás kedden helyenként tovább romolhat, és csütörtökig nincs kilátás javulásra. Az ítéletidő elsősorban Görögország középső részét és a Peloponnészoszt érinti. Sok görög örül a heves esőzéseknek, miután az ország nagy részén hónapok óta először nem fenyeget erdőtűz veszélye.

Több száz görög tűzoltó dolgozott egész éjszaka, hogy megfékezze az Athén környékén két napja tomboló erdőtüzeket, és a hatóságok szerint további lakossági evakuálásokra lesz szükség, mert a kánikula és az erős szél miatt magas a kockázata újabb erdőtüzek kialakulásának.
A görög fővárostól 30 kilométerre északra található Párnisz-hegy lábainál fekvő Filí falu közelében lángra lobbant erdőtűz már a szomszédos várost fenyegette, ahol három idősotthonból ki kellett költöztetni mintegy 150 embert a helyi alpolgármester szerint.
Több mint kétszáz görög tűzoltó, valamint önkéntesek, katonák és rendőrök, illetve tűzoltó helikopterek és repülőgépek napok óta megfeszített ütemben, éjjel-nappal dolgoznak, de Athén az európai uniós tagállamok segítségét is kérte a tűzoltáshoz. Németország, Svédország, Horvátország és Ciprus tűzoltó repülőgépeket, Románia és Csehország több tucat tűzoltót és víztartályokat küldött Görögországba.
Az észak-görögországi Évrosz tartományban szombaton keletkezett erdő- és bozóttüzek nyomán legalább tizenkilenc ember, vélhetően illegális bevándorlók elszenesedett holttestét találták meg kedden egy leégett erdőben, Avantasz falutól délre.
Az athéni ügyészség gyújtogatás miatt indított nyomozást az ügyben – számolt be a görög állami rádió (ERT) szerdán.
Vizsgálják meg az erdőtüzek okait, beleértve a lehetséges szervezett bűnözői tevékenységet is – idézte Georgia Adeilini görög legfőbb ügyész Évrosz tartomány ügyészeihez írt levelét az ERT.
Ezen a tartományon át halad a Törökországból Európába vezető egyik legismertebb migrációs útvonal, és mivel a térségbeli lakosok közül nem tartanak nyilván eltűnteket, a hatóságok feltételezik, hogy migránsok válhattak a lángok áldozatává.
A görög állami televízióban bemutatott műholdképek szerint az évroszi erdőtüzek miatt keletkezett vastag füstfelhő nyugatra vonulva elérte egészen Korfut és a Jón-tengert is.
Mindeközben Törökország északnyugati részén, az Évrosszal szomszédos Canakkale tartományban is erdőtüzek pusztítanak két napja. A török katasztrófavédelem helikopterekkel és tűzoltókocsikkal egész éjjel dolgozott a tüzek megfékezésén.
Ali Yerlikaya török belügyminiszter szerint kilenc faluból több mint 1200 lakost kellett kimenekíteni, közülük 48 orvosi ellátásra is szorult.
A török hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint elővigyázatosságból több idős beteget elszállítottak a helyi egészségügyi központokból.
A Tribeca tengerhajózási ügynökség szerint az Égei-tengert és a Fekete-tengert összekötő Dardanellákon áthaladó tengeri forgalmat ideiglenesen ismét fel kellett függeszteni, hogy a helikopterek és repülőgépek vizet gyűjthessenek a tűzoltáshoz.
