Сильні дощі викликали зсуви в південному індійському штаті Керала у вівторок уранці. Багато людей досі розшукуються, й очікується, що кількість загиблих зросте.
Протягом кількох годин зсуви змили села Чоралмала, Аттамала і Мундаккай у південній частині штату Ваянада. Спокійна річка, що протікає через села, за короткий час змила все навколо. Тіла загиблих знаходили навіть за 25 кілометрів від місця стихійного лиха. Близько 2500 мешканців перебувають у тимчасових центрах розміщення.
«Дуже важко знаходити тіла через те, що тут скалиста місцевість», – повідомив ЗМІ один із рятувальників. У пошуках допомагають військові та велика кількість волонтерів.

На півдні Індії зсуви, викликані дощами, забрали життя щонайменше 194 людей. Приблизно 180 осіб зникли безвісти, і шанси на їх порятунок є невеликими.

Мінімум 186 людей отримали поранення. Місцеві ЗМІ повідомили, що більшість жертв були працівниками чайної ферми.
Рятувальні роботи ускладнювалися через те, що зсуви трималися у лісистій, горбистій місцевості. Також рятувальникам заважали дощі.
Майже 40 тіл знайшли нижче за течією річки Чаліяр, їх віднесло приблизно за 30 кілометрів від місця зсувів.
Потоки бруду та води прокотилися через чайні плантації та села в горбистих районах у вівторок уранці. Вони зрівняли іх землею будинки та зруйнували мости, а рятувальникам довелося витягувати людей, які застрягли під брудом та уламками.
Понад 5500 людей вдалося врятувати. До роботи залучали близько 1100 рятувальників, також працювали гелікоптери т важка техніка.
Понад 8300 людей перемістили до 82 державних таборів, їх забезпечують всім необхідним.

Дах терміналу І Міжнародного аеропорту імені Індіри Ганді обвалився напередодні рано-вранці. «Польоти призупинено щонайменше до другої половини дня», – повідомив міністр авіації Індії Рам Мохан Найду Кінджарапу.
Пошкоджений термінал найжвавішого аеропорту країни евакуювали, розпочалося розслідування інциденту, додав міністр. У цьому терміналі здійснюються внутрішні рейси.
Як повідомив начальник пожежної служби Делі, у лікарню було доставлено 8 людей, які зазнали травмам, повідомляє інформаційне агентство Reuters.
За даними місцевої метеорологічної служби, за три години в аеропорту випало приблизно 149 міліметрів дощу. Це перевищує середню кількість опадів за весь червень. Екстремальна погода спричинила повені в кількох районах столиці та в регіоні, багато автомобілів змило водою.

В індійському південному штаті Тамілнад унаслідок вживання сурогатних алкогольних напоїв померли 54 особи.
За даними агенції, із середи, 10 червня, майже 200 людей пройшли лікування у зв’язку з блювотою, болями у шлунку та діареєю після вживання алкоголю із додаванням метанолу в районі Каллакурічі (Kallakurichi).
Зазначається, що співробітники правоохоронних органів, які займаються розслідуванням інциденту, затримали сімох осіб.
Правоохоронці вилучили 200 літрів сурогатного напою. Також відсторонено від роботи щонайменше 10 посадовців, зокрема районного інспектора і начальника поліції.
Смерть від нелегального алкоголю є поширеним явищем в Індії, де бідні верстви населення не можуть дозволити собі купувати ліцензійні напої, йдеться в матеріалі.

Газета The Hindu в четвер повідомила, що через нестачу води і рекордне споживання електроенергії це „затяжне літо слід оголосити стихійним лихом”.
Міністерство охорони здоров’я наказало лікарням надати більше ліжок для пацієнтів, що продовжують прибувати, і закликало державні та федеральні установи забезпечити негайне надання допомоги пацієнтам.
У середу Делі пережив найспекотнішу ніч за останні півстоліття, при цьому найнижча температура також була зафіксована на рівні 35,2 градуса за Цельсієм, згідно з даними Метеорологічного департаменту. Експерти прогнозують вищу за норму температуру в червні.

Щонайменше тринадцять людей загинули на сході Індії після зіткнення пасажирського поїзда з вантажним у штаті Західна Бенгалія, повідомили в поліції.

На півночі Індії пасажирський мікроавтобус впав в ущелину, внаслідок чого загинули щонайменще 14 людей.

Зазначається, що усього на борту автобусу, який прямував з Нью-Делі, було більше 25 осіб. В результаті того, що він впав в ущелину глибиною близько 250 метрів, загинули 14 людей. Інші пасажири дістали поранення, стан деяких з них є критичним.
Також у поліції кажуть про двох зниклих безвісти – вони могли потонути у річці, яка тече поряд із місцем аварії.

У неділю, 9 червня, в Індії у промисловій зоні Нарела в Делі спалахнула пожежа на фабриці з переробки бобових, внаслідок чого загинули щонайменше троє людей.
Про це інформує India Express.
За даними поліції, причиною пожежі став витік газу в одному з трубопроводів, що призвело до перегріву компресора та вибуху.
Зазначається, що на місце події о третій годині ночі прибули 16 пожежних машин. За словами чиновників, пожежникам знадобилося майже 12 годин, щоб повністю загасити вогонь.
Дев’ятьох людей врятували та доставили до лікарні, трьох знайшли загиблими. Ще шістьох людей, які отримали травми, також направили до лікарні.
Власників підприємства заарештували, але згодом відпустили під заставу.
