Az Egyesült Királyság adatvédelmi felügyelete közlése szerint a TikTok nevű videómegosztó szolgáltatás 27 millió fontos bírsággal néz szembe, amiért a gyermekek magánéletét nem védi.
A brit Információs Biztos Hivatala (ICO) által lefolytatott vizsgálat előzetes megállapítása szerint a TikTok videómegosztó alkalmazás 2018 májusa és 2020 júliusa között megsértette az adatvédelmi törvényt.
A The Guardian azt írja: amennyiben kiszabják a 27 millió fontos bírságot, ez lesz a legnagyobb az ICO történetében, meghaladva a British Airwaysnek két évvel ezelőtt kiszabott 20 millió fontos rekordot. Az ICO által kiszabható maximális bírság egyébként a TikTok globális éves forgalmának 4 százaléka.
A szülői beleegyezéssel van a probléma
A szabályozóhatóság előzetes álláspontja szerint a TikTok szülői beleegyezés nélkül kezelhette a 13 év alatti gyermekek adatait, nem nyújtott megfelelő tájékoztatást a felhasználóknak „tömör, átlátható és könnyen érthető módon”, valamint jogi indoklás nélkül kezelhetett különleges kategóriába tartozó adatokat:
etnikai és faji származás,
politikai vélemény,
vallási meggyőződés,
szexuális irányultság,
szervezeti tagság, valamint
a genetikai, biometrikus vagy egészségügyi adatok.
„Mindannyian azt szeretnénk, hogy a gyerekek tanulhassanak, és megtapasztalhassák a digitális világot, de megfelelő adatvédelem mellett” – nyilatkozta az üggyel kapcsolatban a brit információs biztos, John Edwards, hozzátéve: „a digitális szolgáltatásokat nyújtó vállalatoknak törvényi kötelességük, hogy ezeket a védelmeket biztosítsák, de előzetes véleményük szerint a TikTok nem tett eleget ennek a követelménynek”.
Az ICO nemrég azt közölte, még nem döntöttek arról, hogy történt-e adatvédelmi törvénysértés, illetve hogy kiszabnak-e pénzbírságot. Kiemelték: „a végleges döntés meghozatala előtt gondosan mérlegelni fogják a TikToktól érkező valamennyi észrevételt”.
A TikTok reakciójában kiemelte: nem ért egyet az ICO előzetes megállapításaival, és hivatalos választ fog adni, amelyben megcáfolja a vizsgálat megállapításait.

Egy dél-afrikai autópályán iskolabuszba rohant egy teherautó. A frontális ütközésben tizenkilenc gyerek és két felnőtt meghalt.
A teherautó sofőrje egy másik teherautót próbált szabálytalanul megelőzni Pongola külterületén, mielőtt belerohant a buszba – írta a New York Post a News 24 helyi csatornára hivatkozva.
A sofőr ellen emberölés és gondatlan járművezetés miatt emeltek vádat. A csatorna szerint a férfi elmenekült a helyszínről, később azonban feladta magát a rendőrségen.
A meghalt gyerekek mindegyike 5 és 12 év közötti volt – közölték. Mellettük a buszvezető és egy felnőtt utas vesztette életét a balesetben. Az incidens helyi idő szerint péntek délután történt, a buszon 12 évnél fiatalabb gyerekek utaztak, akik éppen hazafelé tartottak az iskolából.

Előző nap nyolc gázai palesztin civil halt meg az Iszlám Dzsihád rosszul sikerült rakétakilövése miatt, és a hadsereg úgy vélte: ez történt Dzsabália közelében is. A vizsgálat azonban arra a megállapításra jutott, hogy a robbanást az izraeli légierő egyik lövedéke okozta.
Az izraeli hadsereg a Háárec kérdésére azt válaszolta: az állam biztonsága érdekében támadta az Iszlám Dzsihád katonai célpontjait a Gázai övezetben a Hajnalhasadás hadműveletben.

„Az izraeli hadsereg ellenőrzi és megvizsgálja a hadművelet során tett intézkedéseit és azok eredményét; az eset körülményeit kivizsgálják” – ígérték a katonai illetékesek.
Augusztus 8-án Ran Kochav, a hadsereg szóvivője közölte, hogy a Hajnalhasadás hadműveletben 26 palesztin civil halt meg, közülük 11-en izraeli légicsapásokban és legalább 15-en az Iszlám Dzsihád rakétái miatt. A vizsgálat eddigi eredményei módosítják ezeket az adatokat: 16-an haltak meg az izraeli, tízen az Iszlám Dzsihád rakétái miatt.
A gázai terrorszervezetek körülbelül 1100 rakétát indítottak az augusztus 5-én kezdődött, háromnapos Hajnalhasadás hadművelet idején a hadsereg statisztikái szerint. Közel 200 lövedékük már a Gázai övezetben felrobbant.
