Індія переживає неймовірно спекотне літо, і частина столиці Делі цього тижня зафіксувала найвищу температуру в країні – 52,9 °С.



У той час як температура в північно-західній і центральній Індії, як очікується, знизиться в найближчі дні, спека, що панує над східною Індією, ймовірно, триватиме ще два дні, повідомляє Метеорологічний департамент Індії (IMD).



У четвер в державній лікарні в регіоні Руркела в штаті Одіша повідомили про смерть 10 осіб, а в місті Аурангабад в штаті Біхар від сонячного удару померло п’ятеро людей. Ще семеро людей померли по дорозі до лікарні, проте точну причину їх смерті ще визначать лікарі після розтину. Троє людей померли від ймовірного теплового удару в штаті Джаркханд, повідомляють місцеві ЗМІ.



Уряд регіону Одіші заборонив своїм співробітникам перебувати на вулиці з 11 до 15 години, коли температура досягає максимуму.



У Делі, де через високу температуру птахи та дикі мавпи втрачали свідомість, а міський зоопарк обладнав басейни та спринклери, щоб принести полегшення своїм 1200 мешканцям.



Делі, де в п’ятницю очікується підвищення температури до 43°С, зафіксував першу смерть від спеки цього тижня і стикається з гострою нестачею води.

В результаті загинуло щонайменше 16 людей, без електропостачання залишилися мільйони жителів.







Зазначається, що це природне явище (“Ремаль”) стало першим циклоном у Бенгальській затоці напередодні сезону мусонів, що триває з червня до вересня. Через зміни клімату шторми у цій частині континенту стали більш інтенсивними.



За словами представників метеослужби, пізно ввечері в неділю, розвиваючи швидкість до 135 км/год (84 миль на годину), шторм перетнув район південного порту Бангладеш Монгла та прилеглих островів Сагар в індійській Західній Бенгалії, вийшовши на берег близько 21:00.



Як повідомив Reuters керівник служби боротьби зі стихійними лихами Міджанур Рахман, у Бангладеш загинули щонайменше 10 людей. При цьому двоє загинули, коли прямували до сховищ.



“Люди зазвичай дуже неохоче залишають свою худобу та будинки, щоб вирушити у притулки від циклонів. Вони чекають до останньої хвилини, коли часто буває надто пізно”, – сказав Рахман.



За даними видання, в індійському штаті Західна Бенгалія четверо людей загинули внаслідок ураження електричним струмом. Згідно з інформацією місцевої влади, в результаті кількість жертв у штаті досягла шести.



“Одна людина загинула внаслідок падіння бетону в столиці штату Калькутті, жінка загинула внаслідок обвалення глинобитного будинку на острові Мусуні в дельті Сундарбанса”, – сказано в повідомленні.



Бангладеш заздалегідь відключив подачу електроенергії в деякі райони, щоб уникнути нещасних випадків, тоді як у багатьох прибережних містах повалені дерева й обриви ліній електропередачі ще більше порушили подачу електроенергії.



“У нас немає електрики з ночі, акумулятор мого мобільного телефону розрядиться будь-якої миті. Милістю Аллаха, циклон виявився не таким сильним, як ми думали”, – сказав Рахат Раджа, мешканець прибережного району Бангладеш Сатхіра.



За даними чиновників, близько 3 мільйонів людей у Бангладеш залишилися без електрики. Влада Західної Бенгалії заявила, що, як мінімум, 1200 опор електропередач було вирвано із землі, а 300 глиняних хатин зруйновано вщент.



Сильний вітер також зірвав дахи з деяких жерстяних та солом’яних будинків. Дощ та припливи пошкодили деякі набережні та затопили прибережні райони в Сундарбансі, де знаходяться одні з найбільших у світі мангрових лісів, що знаходяться на території Індії та Бангладеш.



Затоплені дощем дороги перешкодили поїздкам до столиці Бангладеш Дакку, де влада, готуючись до урагану, встановила майже 8000 притулків від циклонів і залучила 78000 добровольців.



У Монгла човняр Шах Алом сказав, що не бачив такого тривалого циклону вже кілька десятиліть. “Зазвичай шторм триває кілька годин, але цей триває відучора”, – додав він.



Дощі, викликані ураганом, затопили багато вулиць Калькутти, як показали телевізійні кадри, з повідомленнями про обвалення стін та понад півсотні дерев.



За даними влади, обидві країни перевезли до притулку майже мільйон людей: близько 800 000 до Бангладешу та приблизно 110 000 до Індії.



Через непогоду в понеділок індійський аеропорт Калькутти був закритий на цілий день, У Бангладеш закрили аеропорт в південно-східному місті Чаттограм і скасувала всі внутрішні рейси до Кокс-Базару.

«27 людей, у тому числі дев’ять дітей, загинули внаслідок сильної пожежі, яка спалахнула в ігровій зоні в Раджкоті», – йдеться у публікації.



Пожежним удалося взяти вогонь під контроль. Як відомо, через вогонь дах ангару, де розташовувалася ігрова зона, обвалився. Рятувальники побоюються, що під уламками залишаються тіла загиблих.



Пошуково-рятувальна операція триває.



«Ми ще шукаємо тіла загиблих. На цей час знайдено близько 20 тіл, які були відправлені до лікарні для подальшого розслідування. Проводитимуться слідчі дії. Ігрова зона належить людині на ім’я Юврадж Сінгх Соланки. Ми будемо реєструвати злочин за недбалість і смерті», – сказав комісар поліції Раджкота Раджу Бхаргава.



Пізніше стало відомо, що місцева поліція заарештувала трьох осіб, включаючи власника ігрової зони.

В Індії на хімічному заводі поблизу Мумбая в штаті Махараштра стався вибух. Щонайменше 9 людей загинули і 64 зазнали поранень, повідомила в п’ятницю місцева влада.







Пожежа, спричинена вибухом котла на заводі в передмісті Мумбая, Тана, у четвер перекинулася на сусідні підприємства та будинки. Будівлі були пошкоджені також ударною хвилею від вибуху.



Полум’я загасили, але рятувальники кажуть, що під завалами невдовзі знайдуть ще більше жертв, повідомив представник місцевої адміністрації Сачін Седжал. Він додав, що причина вибуху, який накрив місцевість величезною хмарою сірого диму, з’ясовується.



За даними індійської служби з ліквідації наслідків стихійних лих, завод виробляв харчові барвники з використанням сильних хімічних реагентів, які могли призвести до трагедії.



Правила безпеки в Індії не дуже суворі й не завжди дотримуються, тому пожежі є поширеним явищем. Будівельники часто економлять на дотриманні правил безпеки, стверджують активісти, звинувачуючи цивільну владу в недбалості та байдужості.

Триметровий рекламний щит упав на бензоколонку. Національні сили реагування на стихійні лиха (NDRF) відразу прибули на місце, щоб врятувати людей, які опинилися під завалами. На допомогу була також відправлена поліція Мумбаї і департамент з ліквідації наслідків стихійних лих.







Головний міністр штату Махараштри Екнат Шинде оголосив про виплату компенсації родичам загиблих.



Влада вважає, що ще 20-30 людей знаходяться під завалами.

Серед заарештованих громадян Індії був перекладач, який сприяв оформленню віз і бронюванню авіаквитків, а також два “головних рекрутери”.



CBI повідомило, що розслідування щодо інших обвинувачених, які є частиною цієї міжнародної мережі торговців людьми, триває.

Слідом за смертоносним вірусом, потужна пожежа сталася на гігантському сміттєзвалищі Газіпур, розташованому на сході Нью-Делі в Індії. Попередньо відомо, що причиною пожежі на сміттєзвалищі став газ, що утворився на полігоні.



Як повідомляє Times of India, наразі на місці події працювали пожежники. Причини займання встановлюються. Екологи та ЗМІ попереджають про екологічну катастрофу та загрозу для здоров’я населення.

Сміттєзвалище Газіпур є найбільшим сміттєзвалищем на території Індії. У 2019 році фахівці встановили, що її висота становить 65 метрів – всього на вісім метрів менше за цегляний мінарет Кутуб-Мінар, який вважається найвищим у світі і є однією з найвідоміших пам’яток країни. В Індії в штаті Хар’яна перекинувся автобус, який перевозив школярів. Шестеро дітей загинули, близько 20 зазнали травм. Про це в четвер, 11 квітня, повідомило видання The Telegraph India.



Повідомляється, що в автобусі, який належить приватній школі, везли 30 дітей. Автобус їхав на великій швидкості, і водій не впорався з керуванням. Автобус врізався в дерево й перекинувся.
Почувши крики дітей, деякі перехожі кинулися на допомогу.



Поліція повідомила, що водій міг бути нетверезий, але медичного висновку на момент публікації не було.



Повідомляється також, що районна влада з’ясовує, чому школа працювала у вихідний, пов’язаний зі святкуванням Курбан-байраму.



У лікарні повідомили, що п’ятеро школярів загинули на місці аварії, ще один помер від отриманих травм у лікарні.

Напередодні опозиція в Індії розпочала виборчу кампанію масовими демонстраціями з критикою чинного уряду прем’єр-міністра Нарендри Моді та затримання відомого політика, який конкурує з ним. За словами Моді, керівництво опозиції атакує його через започатковані антикорупційні заходи.







У мітингу опозиції в Нью-Делі взяли участь тисячі людей, безпеку підтримувала велика кількість правоохоронців.



«Слід вирішити, чого ви хочете, демократії чи диктатури», – закликав Маллікарджун Хардж, голова партії «Конгрес».



«Це боротьба з корупцією партії «Бхаратія Джаната» (Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP), за індійський конституціоналізм», – додав лідер опозиції, слова якого цитує місцева газета The Hindu.



Однією з головних тем демонстрації стало затримання Арвінда Кейрівала, прем’єр-міністра регіону Делі. Орган, який займається розкриттям фінансових порушень, звинувачує опозиційного політика в тому, що він досі ігнорував виклики на судове засідання у справі про корупцію. Через арешт Кейрівала останніми днями в країні відбулося кілька демонстрацій.



У свою чергу, Арвінд Кейрівал стверджує, що партія «Бхаратія Джаната» Нарендри Моді використовує владу як інструмент для придушення опозиції. Політик очолює Партію простих людей (Aam Aadmi), яка є частиною опозиційної коаліції ІНДІЯ (Союз національного розвитку Індії) і кидає виклик політичній силі Моді на майбутніх парламентських виборах.



Згідно з останніми опитуваннями, BJP має більше шансів на перемогу.



У найбільш густонаселеній країні світу вибори проходять у сім етапів. У різних штатах голосування проводиться в різний час протягом шести тижнів. Вибори розпочнуться 19 квітня, а їхні результати планують оголосити 4 червня.



«Конгрес» є найбільшою опозиційною силою в Індії. Однак керівництво цієї партії нещодавно заявило про неможливість вести якісну кампанію. Це сталося після того, як податкові органи заморозили її банківські рахунки, посилаючись на порушення.

Семеро громадян Індії заявили, що в Росії їх змусили їхати на фронт, воювати проти України. Про це свідчить відео зі зверненням, яке було опубліковано у соцмережі Х блогерки та журналістки індійського видання NDTV Уми Судхір.



Індійці розповіли, що приїхали на територію Росії наприкінці грудня 2023 року як туристи. Турагент нібито запропонував їм відвідати Білорусь і вони погодилися.



„Ми не знали, що нам потрібна віза. Коли ми прибули до Білорусі, агент попросив у нас гроші, а потім зник”, – заявив один з чоловіків.



Громадян Індії згодом затримала білоруська міліція. Туристів передали російській владі, яка змусили їх підписати документи російською мовою, не надавши перекладача.



За даними індійського видання News 18, громадяни Індії протягом 15 днів проходили військове навчання, а потім були відправлені в „місце, де йде війна”.



Індійцям пояснили, що альтернативою військовій службі могло стати тюремне ув’язнення строком на 10 років.



Ума Судхір наголосила, що її співгромадян „будь-якої миті можуть направити для участі в бойових діях”.
