У Південній Кореї вбивство молодої жінки, яку кат переслідував протягом багатьох років, викликало величезне обурення серед населення: тепер люди вимагають від уряду приділяти більше уваги захисту жінок і внесення змін до законодавства.
Молода жінка була вбита у вбиральні станції метро, де вона працювала. Вбивство шокувало Південну Корею не випадково: кривдник жінки, а згодом і вбивця, мав бути засуджений за домагання днем раніше.
28-річна жертва була зарізана до смерті після закінчення вечірньої зміни на станції метро Sindang у центрі Сеула. Підозрюваний – 31-річний Чон Джу Хван, котрого затримали співробітники станції після того, як жінка підняла тривогу у вбиральні. І хоча її колеги поспішили їй на допомогу, молода жінка померла в лікарні.
Згідно з повідомленнями південнокорейських ЗМІ, Чон почав переслідувати молоду жінку після того, як в 2019 році вони стали колегами на станції метро Сеула: чоловік сотні разів телефонував їй і щоразу прагнув запросити на побачення, водночас погрожував скривдити, якщо вона відмовиться.
Жертва подала заяву на Чона у жовтні минулого року, і хоча чоловіка відносно швидко звільнили з роботи та навіть заарештували, на жаль, відпустили під заставу через чинне законодавство.
Після жорстокого вбивства поліція та група експертів опублікували листа з вибаченнями на шпальтах інформаційного агентства Yonhap, у якому вони визнали серйозність і жорстокість злочину, хоча це вже не мало жодного сенсу, адже, якби заява жінки була сприйнята більш серйозно, вона могла залишитися живою і донині.
Зрештою Чона заарештували за звинуваченням у вбивстві, він чекає на винесення вироку. Але випадок розлютив громадськість, яка звинувачує владу в недостатньо серйозному ставленні до насильства над жінками.
Кім Хен Сук, міністр із питань гендерної рівності Південної Кореї, зіткнувся з безпрецедентною хвилею обурення після того, як заявив, що «не вважає вбивство жінки злочином на ґрунті гендерної ненависті». Крім того, міністр особисто відвідав станцію метро Sindang, де в коментарі журналістам зазначив, що, на його думку, «ця справа не повинна розглядатися як протистояння між чоловіками та жінками».
Однак його заяву майже відразу спростували активісти із захисту прав жінок: близько 80 відсотків жертв домагань у Південній Кореї – жінки.
І хоча заяви міністра під час візиту на станцію викликали серйозне обурення населення, цього тижня він виступив у Парламенті, де заявив, що злочину можна було б запобігти, якби потерпіла звернулася за консультацією на гарячу лінію міністерства та вжила інших заходів.
Відповідно до закону про боротьбу з домаганнями, ухваленого в жовтні минулого року, максимальний термін ув’язнення становить 3 роки, якщо особу буде визнано винною, але ні активісти, ні громадськість не вважають це правильним: закон дозволяє поліції вживати заходів у разі домагання лише за згодою потерпілого.
На думку критиків, цю юридичну шпаринку використовують кривдники для тиску на своїх жертв, щоб ті відмовилися від ідеї подавати заяви. Промовисті дані доводять, що нинішній закон про домагання недосконалий: відтоді, як він набув чинності, у справах про домагання було затримано 7152 особи, але заарештовано лише 5 відсотків.
Після скандалу Міністерство юстиції повідомило, що розглядає можливість скасування вимоги щодо згоди, але критики вже наголошують, що це питання гальмувалося в Парламенті більше року, частково саме через спротив із боку Міністерства юстиції.
Видання Korea Herald зазначає, що до запровадження нового закону домагання в Південній Кореї взагалі розглядалося лише як проступок, який карався незначним штрафом. Але зараз як ніколи на часі можливість посилити закон, що дозволить запобігти жорстоким злочинам, адже останній випадок довів, наскільки це серйозна проблема.

Про це з посиланням на Об’єднаний комітет начальників штабів (JCS) Південної Кореї повідомляє Xinhua.
У заяві комітету йдеться, що сьогодні вранці було зафіксовано запуск із району Течхон (або його околиць) у провінції Північний Пхьонан. Зазначається, що КНДР здійснила запуск „у свої східні води”. Інших подробиць не повідомляється.
„Південна Корея підтримувала стан повної готовності в тісній співпраці зі США, одночасно посилюючи спостереження та пильність”, – поінформували в JCS.
Як уточнює Xinhua, запуск ракети відбувся через два дні після того, як американський атомний авіаносець прибув до Південної Кореї, в порт Пусан, для спільних навчань з ВМС цієї країни, котрі планується провести наприкінці вересня.

Після нетривалого зниження кількість нових випадків зараження коронавірусом у Південній Кореї у четвер, третій день поспіль, перевищує 100 тис., – оголосила місцева влада в четвер.
Надзвичайну кількість нових випадків інфікування вперше було виявлено 17 серпня, коли щоденні статистичні дані щодо нових випадків підскочили приблизно з 84 до 180 тисяч, а потім знизилися протягом 5 днів приблизно до 60 тисяч. Однак у вівторок цього тижня знову пройшло скринінг 150 тисяч нових інфікованих людей, у середу приблизно 140 тисяч, а в четвер вірусом заразилася 133 371 нова особа. Із початку епідемії в Південній Кореї вірусом SARS-CoV-2 заразилася 22 701 921 людина. Кількість летальних випадків зросла на 108 і становить 26 332 випадки. Рівень смертності зараз – 0,12 відсотка. Дещо зменшилася кількість пацієнтів у важкому стані – наразі їх число становить 566.
Органи охорони здоров’я країни побоюються, що новий підваріант варіанту коронавірусу омікрон спровокував чергову хвилю заражень. Місцеве епідеміологічне управління очікує збільшення кількості людей, що перебуватимуть у критичному стані, та щоденних смертей найближчими тижнями.

Президент Південної Кореї помилував голову концерну Samsung Лі Чже Ена, засудженого за корупцію у 2017 році. Лі Чже Ена звинувачували у тому, що він дав хабаря колишньому президентові країни Пак Кин Хе.
В уряді вважають, що лідер найбільшої компанії країни знову потрібен біля керма, щоби відновити економіку після пандемії.
„Наслідного принца Samsung”, як його прозвали в пресі, було звільнено з в’язниці ще минулого серпня, але для повноцінного повернення до роботи йому було потрібно президентське помилування.
„Через світову економічну кризу динаміка та життєздатність національної економіки погіршилися, є побоювання, що економічний спад затягнеться”, – йдеться у повідомленні Мін’юсту.
Також були помилувані ще троє відомих бізнесменів, зокрема голова Lotte Group Шин Дон Бін, якого у 2018 році було засуджено до двох з половиною років позбавлення волі умовно у справі про хабарництво.
У 2017 році Чже Ена звинувачували у даванні хабарів компаніям, пов’язаним із колишнім президентом Південної Кореї Пак Кин Хе. За версією звинувачення їхній розмір становив понад 6 млн. доларів. Також віце-президент Samsung Electronics пропонував або обіцяв чиновникам 38 млн доларів за те, щоб держава дозволила злиття Samsung C&T і Cheil Industries на потрібних йому умовах.
Суд Сеула у 2017 році засудив Лі Чже Ена до п’яти років позбавлення волі. Наступного року реальний термін замінили умовним. У 2019-му справу відправили на повторний розгляд. У січні 2021 року Лі Дже Ен повернувся до в’язниці, але вийшов з неї по УДЗ через 18 місяців.

Декілька районів у Сеулі залишилися затопленими в понеділок через сильний дощ, що обрушився на столицю Південної Кореї, призвівши до евакуації, інформує УНН.
За даними інформаційного агентства Yonhap, у понеділок у центральному регіоні країни, включаючи столицю, випало до 170 мм опадів.
Станом на 20.00 за місцевим часом у Сеулі випало 90,5 мм опадів. У звіті також йдеться, що в районі Тонджак на півдні Сеула випало 137 мм опадів за годину, що є найсильнішим дощем за останні десятиліття.
Корейське метеорологічне управління раніше випустило попередження про сильний дощ у Сеулі, західному портовому місті Інчхон, північних частинах провінції Кенгідо та північній провінції Канвондо.
Yonhap також повідомляє, що сильна злива викликала повені та відключення електроенергії в деяких регіонах. Жителів низинних районів було евакуйовано з метою безпеки, а деякі ділянки ліній метро змушені були зупинитися.

Своїм родичам жертви сказали, що вирушають у відпустку, після чого зникли. Журналісти зазначають, що перед зникненням у сім’ї прострочили платежі за кредитами, які сім’я взяла для спекуляцій на ринку криптовалют. Зазначається, що одним із найбільших активів була криптовалюта LUNA, крах якої став тригером для настання «криптозими» — самогубства власників LUNA не рідкість, постраждали навіть українці.
Поліція, яка вивчає нещодавні пошукові записи пари в інтернеті, виявила докази численних пошуків, пов’язаних із «криптоактивами» та «снодійним». Незадовго до зникнення для матері в цій родині лікарі виписали двохтижневий запас снодійного.

Загоряння трапилося близько 13:30 за місцевим часом на будмайданчику. На той момент там перебували близько 78 людей, місце перебування більшості з яких досі невідоме.
За попередньою версією, пожежа була спричинена вибухом газу при проведенні будівельних робіт. Свідки заявляли, що чули вибухи, як мінімум 10 разів.
На складі не було обладнання для пожежогасіння.
Поліція та пожежники проводять розслідування для встановлення точної причини аварії.
