Először szerveztek tüntetést az abortusz ellenzői az Egyesült Államokban azóta, hogy a Legfelsőbb Bíróság hatályon kívül helyezte azt az 50 éves ítéletet, amely országosan legalizálta az abortuszt.
A tavaly nyári döntés óta az államok saját hatáskörben dönthetnek arról, hogy korlátozzák-e az abortuszt, ahogyan ezt néhány állam már meg is tette.
A „March of Life” szervezet tagjai örülnek a sikernek, de azt mondják, még nagyon sok a tennivalójuk, mert minden embert meg akarnak győzni az igazukról.
A szervezetet 1974-ben alapították az úgynevezett Roe ítéletre válaszul, amely lehetővé tette az abortuszt az egész Egyesült Államokban.
