Legkevesebb 36 szíriai katona vesztette életét egy izraeli légicsapás következtében, mely péntek hajnalban érte el az észak-szíriai Aleppó térségét – közölte az Emberi Jogok Szíriai Megfigyelőközpontja (OSDH).
A brit székhelyű, kiterjedt szíriai forráshálózattal rendelkező civil szervezet szerint a csapás „a szíriai rendszer oldalán harcoló libanoni Hezbollahhoz tartozó rakétaraktárak” ellen irányult.
„Legalább 36 katona meghalt és több tucatnyian megsebesültek az izraeli támadásban”, amely az aleppói repülőtér közelében lévő területet vette célba – írta a civil szervezet.
A Szana szíriai állami hírügynökség által idézett katonai forrás arról számolt be, hogy „több civil és katona meghalt és megsebesült” az Aleppó külvárosában lévő katonai állások elleni izraeli támadásban.
Egy légicsapás már csütörtökön célba vett egy lakóházat Damaszkusz külvárosában, legalább két ember megsebesült – jelentette akkor a Szana, amely Izraelt tette felelőssé a támadásért. A megcélzott területet, Szajída Zeinabot az Irán-barát csoportok fellegvárának tartják Szíriában.

A Guardian jelentése szerint Izrael újabb légicsapásokat intézett Szíria ellen, melynek következtében be kellett zárni az aleppói repülőteret. A szíriai állami média beszámolói szerint a legutóbbi támadás megrongálta az egyetlen működő kifutópályát, így a járatokat Damaszkuszba és Latakiába kellett átirányítani.
Az immáron több mint 12 éve tartó szíriai polgárháború alatt Izrael több száz légicsapást mért az ország területére, elsősorban az Irán által támogatott erők és a libanoni Hezbollah harcosai, valamint a szíriai hadsereg állásai ellen.
Egy katonai forrás szerint az aleppói nemzetközi repülőtér kifutópályája megsérült, miután „az izraeli ellenség légi támadást hajtott végre a Földközi-tenger irányából, Latakiától nyugatra” helyi idő szerint hajnali fél ötkor.

Kiemelték, hogy a szíriai légvédelemnek sikerült lelőnie több rakétát is, amelyeket a Földközi-tengerről, Latakia városától nyugatra indítottak, ennek ellenére számos kár keletkezett.
A SANA állami hírügynökség katonai forrásokra hivatkozva közölte, miszerint kedden kora reggel működésképtelenné vált a szíriai Aleppó nemzetközi repülőtere, miután izraeli rakétatámadás érte a területet.
A TRT World beszámolója alapján egyelőre nem lehet tudni, hogy vannak-e halálos áldozatok, illetve sebesültekről sem érkezett hír, s eddig az izraeli tisztviselők sem nyilatkoztak az ügy kapcsán, így több kérdés is megválaszolatlan maradt.
Izrael az utóbbi időben jelentősen fokozta támadásait a damaszkuszi kormány ellenőrzése alatt álló repülőterek ellen, hogy megzavarja az iráni fegyverszállításokat Szírián keresztül Teherán szíriai és libanoni szövetségeseinek, köztük a Hezbollah radikális síita szervezetnek.

A szír kormány áldozatokról nem tett említést.
A Nagy-Britanniába emigrált Emberi Jogi Szíriai Megfigyelő Központ (OSDH) aktivista szervezet közleménye szerint Izrael négy rakétát lőtt ki az aleppói nemzetközi repülőtér egyik kifutópályájára és a környező raktárakra.
Az OSDH szerint a raktárakban feltehetően iráni rakétaszállítmány volt.
Az elmúlt években Izrael több száz támadást hajtott végre a damaszkuszi kormány ellenőrzése alatt álló területen, de ritkán ismerte el vagy nyilatkozott ilyen támadásokról – írta az AP amerikai hírügynökség.
Az izraeli hadsereg nem nyilatkozott az aleppói repülőtér elleni szerdai támadásokról sem.
Izrael annyit ugyanakkor közölt, hogy a célpontjai az Iránnal szövetséges fegyveres csoportok – közöttük a libanoni Hezbollah – támaszpontjai.
A libanoni síita szervezet több ezer fegyverest küldött Basár el-Aszad szíriai elnök hadseregének támogatására.
Izrael vasárnap egy nyugat-szíriai katonai létesítményt támadott. A műholdas felvételeken látni lehetett, hogy a rakéták mekkora pusztítást vittek végbe a raktárban, amelyben az ellenzéki megfigyelő aktivista szervezet szerint Irán támogatta fegyveresek közepes hatótávolságú rakétáit tartották.
Júniusban izraeli légicsapások miatt átmenetileg le kellett állítani a damaszkuszi repülőtér forgalmát.
