 A jelentés szerint a baleset tegnap, december 16-án 14:30 óra körül történt. A média információi szerint egy katonai rendszámú Ford Focus személygépkocsi egy Volvo teherautóval ütközött. Ismeretessé vált, hogy a baleset az autó általi előzés közben történt.

 Az járműben négyen ültek: Viktor Zsigunov ezredes, az Állami Különleges Szállítmányozási Szolgálat helyettes vezetője, Vaszil Kravec alezredes, Dmitro Szolohub közkatona és Natalija Dubrovszka állampolgár. A baleset következtében mind a négyen meghaltak. Élettel összeegyeztethetetlen sérüléseket szenvedtek, és a mentősök kiérkezése előtt meghaltak.
 A teherautó sofőrje sokkot kapott, és orvosi segítséget nyújtottak neki. A kórházi kezelést megtagadta.
 Az Állami Különleges Szállítmányozási Szolgálat, amely a Honvédelmi Minisztérium struktúrájának részét képezi, közölte, hogy az alkalmazottai kiküldetésben voltak.
