Az orosz csapatok csütörtökön elfoglalták az Odessza közelében található, stratégiai fontosságú Kígyó-szigetet, amelynek az ostroma során 13 ukrán határőr vesztette életét – adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál Anton Herscsenko belügyminiszteri tanácsadó Facebook-közlésére hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint a tanácsadó bejegyzésében azt írta, hogy az orosz betolakodók felajánlották a Kígyó-szigetet védő ukrán határőröknek, hogy adják meg magukat, de ők ezt visszautasították. Hozzátette: ezt követően az oroszok rakéta- és tüzérségi tüzet zúdítottak a helyőrségre, amelynek következtében 13 határőr meghalt és minden épület megsemmisült. Több órás harc után az orosz megszállók elfoglalták a szigetet – konstatálta Anton Herascsenko.
