Nem sokkal azután, hogy az Európai Unió rekordösszegű, 500 millió eurós büntetést szabott ki az Apple-re a Digital Markets Act (DMA) megsértése miatt, a cupertinói óriás hivatalosan is fellebbezett a döntés ellen. Az ügy középpontjában az App Store úgynevezett anti-steering szabályai állnak, vagyis azok a korlátozások, amelyek megnehezítették a fejlesztők számára, hogy más fizetési megoldásokhoz vagy piacterekhez irányítsák a felhasználókat.



Apple idén tavasszal már bevezetett számos változtatást az App Store európai működésében, beleértve az alternatív alkalmazásboltok támogatását, új üzleti feltételeket és a harmadik féltől származó böngészőmotorok engedélyezését. A Bizottság azonban úgy ítélte meg, hogy a cég túl sokáig akadályozta a versenyt, és ezért kiszabta a bírságot. A döntés nyomán Apple múlt héten tovább módosította a szabályzatát, és már lehetővé teszi, hogy a fejlesztők egyértelműbben hivatkozzanak külső fizetési lehetőségekre – sőt, az alkalmazásokon belüli linkelést is engedélyezi.






A fellebbezésben az Apple azt állítja, hogy a Bizottság „elképesztő módon túllépett” a DMA által megszabott hatáskörén, és olyan feltételeket kényszerít a vállalatra, amelyek zavaróak a fejlesztőknek és ártalmasak a felhasználóknak is. A cég szerint a szabályok állandó újraértelmezése miatt nehéz követni, pontosan mit vár el tőle az unió – például a steering fogalmát most már kiterjesztették promóciókra, webview-kra és alternatív alkalmazásboltok hirdetésére is.



A vita másik fő frontja a Store Services Fee nevű új díjstruktúra, amelyet az Apple az uniós előírásokhoz igazítva vezetett be. Az EU nyomására ezt a díjat két részre bontották: az első szint (5%): alapfunkciók, mint az app terjesztés és biztonsági funkciók. A második szint (13%, ami 10% a kisebb fejlesztőknek): minden extra szolgáltatás, például appfelfedezési lehetőségek.



Apple szerint azt is az Európai Bizottság határozta meg, hogy mely funkciók kerüljenek az egyes díjszintekbe – például a keresési és ajánlási funkciókat kizárólag a drágább csomagban lehet elérni, ami szerintük újabb akadályt jelent a kisebb fejlesztőknek.



Bár a fellebbezés kimenetele még kérdéses, az biztosnak látszik, hogy az Apple és az EU közötti huzavona még messze nem ért véget – és ennek hatása hosszú távon a fejlesztői ökoszisztémára és a felhasználók élményeire is rányomhatja a bélyegét.

A narasapurai gyár a tajvani Wistron vállalat tulajdona, amelynek együttműködése az Apple-el ideiglenesen fel van függesztve.



„A Wistron fegyelmi intézkedéseket hozott, és megváltoztatja személyzeti erőforrásainak és számviteli osztályának struktúráját Narasapurában. Próbaidőszakot hirdettünk a Wistron számára, és addig nem kapnak új megrendeléseket az Apple-től, amíg a korrekciós intézkedést nem hajtják végre. Az Apple munkatársai és a nemzetközi ellenőrök figyelemmel kísérik az eseményeket” – áll az Apple által kiadott sajtóközleményben.



Az Apple vizsgálatának előzetes adatai szerint a Wistron nem alkalmazott megfelelő gyakorlatot a ledolgozott órák számának ellenőrzésére, ami októberben és novemberben azt eredményezte, hogy a vállalat egyes alkalmazottai késve kapták meg bérüket.



A tájékozott beszélgetőtársak a Bloombergnek elmondták, hogy a Wistron gyors indiai terjeszkedése az emberi erőforrások hiánya miatt megfosztotta a vállalatot a megfelelő folyamatirányítástól.



Wistron vállalt közölte, hogy felmentették az alelnököt, aki a vállalat indiai működését felügyelte, létrehoztak egy forróvonalat, ahol az alkalmazottak névtelenül bejelenthetik kifogásaikat.
