Nancy Faeser német belügyminiszter felmentette Arne Schönbohmot, az ország kiberbiztonsági ügynökségének (BSI) vezetőjét, miután állítólagos oroszországi kapcsolatai miatt vita alakult ki.
Schönbohm azonnali hatállyal távozik a belügyminisztériumból – közölte kedden Berlinben a helyi médiával a minisztérium szóvivője. Emellett fegyelmi eljárás is indult Schönbohm ellen, akinek önkéntes távozásáról korábban a Spiegel számolt be.
Schönbohm 2012-ben alapított egy iparági szövetséget, a Cyber Security Councilt (CSC), amelynek elnöke volt, amíg 2016-ban a BSI élére nem került. A ZDF október 7-i jelentése szerint a CSC hajlamos volt az orosz kémkedésre és befolyásolásra – írja a Politico.
Az elmúlt hét folyamán azonban szakértők szerte Németországban Schönbohm védelmére keltek, rámutatva a BSI vezetőjeként szerzett jó teljesítményére: „El kell ismerni, hogy valóban előre vitte a BSI-t” – mondta Manuel Atug informatikai biztonsági szakértő.
