Egy fegyveres lövöldözni kezdett egy társadalombiztosítási hivatalban és egy bíróságon Athén belvárosában kedden, és több embert megsebesített – tudatták a görög hatóságok.
Athénban rendőrségi akció indult a fegyveres felkutatására, akiről a görög média azt írta, hogy egy 89 éves férfi.
A hatóságok szerint a férfi sörétes puskával fegyverkezett fel, és előbb a görög főváros központjában lévő társadalombiztosítási hivatalban nyitott tüzet, megsebesítve egy alkalmazottat, majd a hatóságok szerint később tüzet nyitott egy athéni bíróság épületének földszintjén, ahol többen megsebesültek.
A hatóságok a helyszínen megtalálták a puskát.
Az ERT News görög közszolgálati televízió felvételei azt mutatták, hogy a mentők legalább három embert szállítottak a bíróságról a várakozó mentőautókhoz.
A lövöldözés indítéka egyelőre nem ismert. Az ERT szerint a fegyveres a bírósági lövöldözés után dokumentumokat tartalmazó borítékokat dobott a földre, arra hivatkozva, hogy az iratok adnak magyarázatot a tettére.
A fegyveres erőszak viszonylag ritka Görögországban, ahol a lőfegyvertartás szigorúan szabályozott.

Tűzoltó repülőgépek és helikopterek folyamatosan dolgoztak vasárnap Görögországban, ahol a mentőszolgálatok továbbra is heves erdőtüzekkel küzdenek az ország több részén. A tüzek néhol már a lakott területeket is elérték.
A meteorológiai szolgálat vasárnapi jelentése szerint különösen Athén északi része, valamint Euboea, Kíthira és Kréta szigete, illetve a Peloponnészosz-félsziget érintett.
Szombat óta több ház semmisült meg vagy rongálódott meg a lángok miatt Athén északi részén.
A hatóságok szerint már nincs aktív tűzfront a térségben, de egyes helyeken továbbra is parázsló tűzfészkek vannak.
Euboea szigetén továbbra is kritikus a helyzet, ott falvakat evakuáltak, és állattenyésztő telepeket semmisített meg a tűz. Hat tűzoltót sérülésekkel kórházba szállítottak. A lángok Kíthira szigetén is ellenőrizhetetlenek voltak, ahol a hatóságok szerint 139 embert menekítettek el.
Krétán, Hanía kikötővárosban házak, egy templom és járművek égtek, de a tűz már részben ellenőrzés alatt van a hatóságok szerint.
A Peloponnészosz-félszigeten Kipariszia közelében fekvő dombos régióban a változó szél akadályozta a tűzoltási munkálatokat – jelentette a görög média.
A hatóságok országszerte továbbra is magas készültségben vannak, a meteorológusok pedig tűzveszélyre figyelmeztetnek.

Folyamatos erdőtüzek nehezítik a mindennapokat Görögország fővárosához, Athénhoz közel, miután lángra kapott egy erdő. A görög kormány már egy konkrét tervet is kidolgozott annak érdekében, hogy képes legyen kezelni a hasonló természeti problémákat az országban.
Jelentős erdőtüzekkel küzdenek a hatóságok Görögországban, Athéntól mintegy 40 kilométerre észak-nyugatra, ahol egy sűrű erdőben támadt tűz. A lángok megfékezésben jelenleg 120 tűzoltó vesz részt, 17 repülőgéppel és 30 tűzoltóautóval – számolt be a Reuters.
A hírügynökség beszámolója szerint az erdőtűzben leginkább érintett Ano Souli és Marathon lakosságát evakuálni kellett, majd mindenkit felszólítottak arra, hogy hagyja el az otthonát. A Reuters beszámolójában megemlítette, hogy Görögországban évről évre egyre nagyobb problémát jelent az erdőtüzek megfékezése. Ráadásul 2024 is rekordmeleg év volt az országban, ami már az új normálisnak tekinthető, mivel a Földközi-tenger térsége gyorsabban melegszik a globális átlagnál.
Athénba az idén is mintegy 10 millió látogatót várnak, a helyi meteorológusok úgy számolnak, hogy a júliusban és augusztusban érkezők még extrémebb időjárási körülményekre számíthatnak. A görög kormány ugyanakkor számol a potenciális erdőtüzek esélyével, és rekordszámú, 18 ezer tűzoltót vetne be a védekezéshez, holott 2022-ben ez a szám még csak 15 500 volt. A kabinet korábban azt is közölte, hogy nagyjából kétmilliárd eurót szán az új, tűzoltásra használható repülőgépek vásárlására, emellett megduplázza a használható hőkamerák számát is annak érdekében, hogy minél hamarabb észrevegyék a tüzeket. Európa történetének eddigi legsúlyosabb erdőtüze szintén Görögországban ütött ki 2023-ban. Akkor legkevesebb 20 ember meghalt, a lángok pedig már Athént is veszélyeztették.

Az ERTNews görög rádió beszámolója szerint a robbanószerkezetet egy motorra erősítették, amely közvetlenül az épület előtt parkolt – írja az MTI-re hivatkozva a hirado.hu.
A rendőrség lezárta a környéket, a hatóságok szerint a robbantás során senki sem sérült meg.

Halálos robbanás történt egy athéni lakásban csütörtökön, a házi készítésű szerkezet készítője a rendőrség gyanúja szerint egy gerillacsoport tagja lehet.
A robbanásban egy férfi életét vesztette és egy nő súlyosan megsérült – írta közleményében az athéni rendőrség pénteken.
A robbanás helyszínén két fegyvert, lőszereket, mobiltelefonokat és digitális bizonyítékokat is találtak.

Sikerült megfékezni a hatalmas erdőtüzet, amely három nap óta tombolt a görög fővárostól északkeletre – közölték szerdán a görög hatóságok, de figyelmeztettek, hogy a hőség, a szárazság és az erős szél miatt a lángok újra felcsaphatnak.
Annak ellenére, hogy a legtöbb területen már sikerült megfékezni a lángokat, a hatóságok csütörtökig még fokozott készültségben maradnak. A tűzoltóság szóvivője az AFP hírügynökségnek elmondta, hogy 530 tűzoltó 145 járművel még mindig a helyszínen tartózkodik.
A tűzvész miatt az Európai Unió polgári védelmi mechanizmusát már aktiválták, 300 tűzoltó, helikopterek, tűzoltóautók és tartálykocsik érkeztek Görögországba Franciaországból, Olaszországból, Csehországból, Romániából, Szerbiából és Törökországból, de egyelőre nem vezényelték ki őket a terepre az Athén körüli régióban, Attikában.
A vasárnap keletkezett tüzet egy meghibásodott villanyvezeték okozhatta – írta a Kathimerini című görög napilap a nyomozás eddigi eredményére hivatkozva. Terjedésének gyorsaságát hitetlenkedve fogadta a lakosság. „Olyan volt, mint egy atombomba” – mondta a napilapnak az egyik helyi lakos.

Hétfő délután a lángok elérték Athén Vrilisszia és Penteli nevű elővárosát, több ház leégett vagy megrongálódott. A tűzoltóság szóvivője hétfőn késő este rámutatott, hogy sok helyen sikerült megfékezni a tüzet, és a tűzoltók kontroll alatt tartják a lángokat, de a fel-feltámadó szél miatt további helyeken üthet ki tűz.
A tűz miatt az EU polgári védelmi mechanizmusát is aktiválták. Többek között Csehország, Franciaország, Olaszország, Szerbia, Románia és Törökország is ajánlott fel segítséget.

Athén közelében erdőtüzek tombolnak, amelyek miatt vasárnap a görög hatóságok két térség lakóit is felszólították, hogy hagyják el otthonaikat.
A görög fővárostól mintegy 35 kilométerre északra található Varnavánál mintegy 500 tűzoltó küzd a lángokkal, amelyek a késő délutáni órákban már elérték a lakóépületeket is.
A tűzoltók munkáját 40 tűzoltóautó, 19 repülőgép és helikopter segítette.
„A lángok több mint 25 méter magasra csapnak fel” – mondta a tűzoltóság egyik szóvivője.
A polgári védelem szöveges üzenetben riasztotta a térség lakóit, hogy hagyják el otthonukat. A görög sajtó szerint többen füstmérgezést kaptak és kórházi kezelésre szorultak. Turisztikai létesítmények eddig nem kerültek veszélybe.
Az Athéntól nyugatra található Megaránál is öt tűzoltócsapat küzd a lángokkal.
Az erdőtüzek miatt sűrű füst lepte el Athén egyes negyedeit.
A polgári védelem a nap folyamán egy térképet is közzétett, amelyről leolvasható, hogy Athén körzetében és az ország más kiterjedt térségeiben is a legmagasabb fokú tűzveszély áll fenn.
Az idén nyáron már erdőtüzek százai törtek ki Görögország-szerte, ahol a meteorológiai feljegyzések kezdete óta legmelegebb júniusi és júliusi hőmérsékleteket mérték, és egyben a legmelegebb telet.
„Ami a helyzetet olyannyira veszélyessé teszi, az a hosszú ideje tartó szárazság és a hőhullám” – ismertette Kosztasz Laguvardosz, az athéni meteorológiai központ igazgatója az ERT görög közszolgálati rádiónak nyilatkozva.

A görög hatóságok tizenöt helikoptert, illetve repülőgépet, valamint tűzoltók százait vetették be a lángok megfékezésére a fővárostól nagyjából 20 kilométerre található sűrű erdőségben.
Az erdőtűz szombaton ütött ki egy olyan térségben, ahol hosszabb ideje nem volt csapadék, és hetek óta 35 Celsius-fokot is meghaladó hőhullám tombol. Szombaton ráadásul heves széllökések is voltak, amelyek a füstfelhőket a főváros felé fújták, ahol számos kerületben lehetett érezni az égett szagot, és hamu is hullott.
„A nehézségek még csak most kezdődnek. Folyamatosan aggódunk” – írta Micotákisz.
A tűzoltóság vasárnap közölte, hogy Közép-Görögország szinte minden régiójában tüzek ütöttek ki, ahogy több szigeten is; a legsúlyosabb a helyzet Szérifosz szigetén, ahol hat faluból is ki kellett ideiglenesen telepíteni az embereket. Szérifosz polgármestere az ERT közszolgálati rádiónak nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy azt a tüzet is sikerült az éjszaka folyamán ellenőrzés alá vonni.
Athéntól keletre, Szúnion és a mintegy 90 kilométerre északra található Halkida településénél több kisebb erdőtűz is tombolt, s az ERT értesülése szerint több épület is a lángok martalékává vált.
Az erdőtüzek térségében nincsenek turisztikai létesítmények – idézte az állami tévé a hatóságokat.
Meteorológusok szerint az országban az elmúlt tél volt a legmelegebb a feljegyzések kezdete óta, ami kedvez további erdőtüzek keletkezésének az idén.

Tűzvész tombol Athén határában, amelyet heves széllökések gerjesztenek; két települést kiürítettek szerdán a hatóságok, és felfüggesztették a forgalmat a görög főváros és a tőle 30 kilométerre délre fekvő Koropi között.
A tűzoltóság szerint négy tűzoltórepülőgépet, hat helikoptert, több tucat tűzoltóautót és több mint ötven tűzoltót mozgósítottak.
Görögországban rendszeresek az erdő- és bozóttüzek a nyári időszakban, és az oltást sok esetben nehezítik széllökések és terepviszonyok is. Az idén a vártnál korábban, már márciusban voltak erdőtüzek az országban.
Kedden már több mint negyven erdőtüzet jelentettek a dél-európai ország különböző pontjairól. Athén térségében már hetek óta nem volt csapadék, a hőmérő higanyszála pedig 35 Celsius-fokot mutat.
