Több mint másfél ezren tüntettek Athénban az azonos neműek házasságáról szóló törvénytervezet ellen, amelyről a napokban fog szavazni a görög parlament – írja az MTI.
A konzervatív görög kormány törvényjavaslatának elfogadásához a centrista és baloldali ellenzék támogatására is szükség van. Több ellenzéki képviselő már jelezte, hogy ellenzi az előterjesztést.
A vasárnapi megmozdulást szervező vallási csoportok szerint a törvényjavaslat veszélyt jelent a hagyományos családi értékekre. A tüntetés résztvevői közül többen azt skandálták, hogy „El a kezekkel a gyerekektől!”.
Sajnálatos módon a woke program is elérte Görögországot, és ez magában foglalja a homoszexuálisok házasságát – jelentette ki Dimitrisz Natsziosz, a jobboldali Niki párt vezetője az AP amerikai hírügynökségnek nyilatkozva.
Görögország egy ortodox keresztény állam, és hagyományaink nem engedik ezt. (…) Egyféle házasságot ismerünk és tisztelünk: az ortodox keresztény nászt. Alkotmányunk sem teszi ezt lehetővé, így ez a törvényjavaslat alkotmányba ütköző és szembemegy Krisztusba vetett hitünkkel – hangsúlyozta.
A 2019-ben alapított Niki párt először 2023-ban került be a parlamentbe, a legutóbbi, júniusban tartott előrehozott választásokon a hatodik helyen végzett és azóta 10 képviselője van a 300 fős törvényhozásban.
Az azonos neműek élettársi kapcsolatát Görögország 2015-ben engedélyezte.
