Alig indult meg az orosz támadás Ukrajna ellen, a szomszédos Románia máris érintetté vált: a védelmi minisztérium szerint egy ukrán vadászgép behatolt az ország légterébe.
A román légierő azonnal felküldött két F-16-os vadászgépet, amelyek „elfogták” az ukrán gépet, egy Szu-27-est, és az ilyenkor szokásos nemzetközi eljárást alkalmazva elkísérték a bákói repülőtérig, ahol mindhárman leszálltak.
Ezt követően az ukrán pilóta közölte, hogy a román hatóságok rendelkezésére áll, hogy azok lefolytathassák az ilyenkor szokásos jogi eljárásokat.
Az nem derült ki, hogy a pilóta elmenekült Ukrajnából, vagy csak véletlenül került a román légtérbe – írta a Főtér.ro, a Híradó értesülése szerint a pilóta a repülőgép meghibásodására hivatkozott.
A román védelmi tárca közölte, szolgálatba helyezték az ukrajnai helyzet megfigyelésére és a katonai eszközök és erők koordinálására szolgáló parancsnoki központokat.
