Az indiai fizetési rendszereket működtető hatóság, a National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) a közleményében azt írta, hogy a C-Edge nevű banki alaprendszereket fejlesztő szolgáltató rendszereit „valószínűleg” zsarolóvírus-támadás érte.
„A fizetési ökoszisztémára gyakorolt nagyobb hatás megelőzése érdekében az NPCI ideiglenesen elszigetelte a C-Edge Technologies-t az NPCI által üzemeltetett lakossági fizetési rendszerek elérésétől. A C-Edge által kiszolgált bankok ügyfelei ez idő alatt nem férhetnek hozzá a fizetési rendszerekhez.”
