A világ legnagyobb rézbányájában, a Santiagótól mintegy 100 kilométerre délre fekvő chilei El Tenientében szombaton földrengés történt: a 4,2-es erősségű földmozgás következtében a bánya egyik alagútja beomlott. Az El Teniente méreteire jellemző, hogy a föld alatti járatok együttes hossza 4500 kilométer, egy év alatt 365 ezer tonna rezet termelnek ki innen, ami a chilei termelés 6,7 százaléka. Aurora Williams chilei bányaügyi miniszter a mentési munkálatok idejére leállíttatta a kitermelést az El Tenientében, aminek hatására a réz ára azonnal emelkedni kezdett a világpiacon. A román katasztrófavédelmi hatóság (DSU) vasárnap elrendelte tíz parajdi ház azonnali kiürítését és a lakosok biztonságba helyezését, mivel egy helyszíni terepszemle nyomán a gazdasági minisztérium szakemberei úgy értékelték: fennáll a veszélye annak, hogy a vízzel elöntött régi sóbánya teteje beomlik – közölte a bukaresti kormány sajtóirodája.
A kommüniké szerint Catalin Predoiu ügyvivő miniszterelnök – aki vasárnap maga is meglátogatta Székelyföld árvíz sújtotta településeit – a helyszínre küldte Hargita megye kormánybiztosát és az országos katasztrófavédelmi felügyelőség parancsnokának helyettesét. A közleményben leszögezték: a kormány számára az emberéletek védelme a legfontosabb szempont, és mindent meg fognak tenni a tragédia által sújtott közösség védelmében, a károk enyhítése érdekében.
Az evakuálás előzményeiről Bíró Barna Botond, a Hargita megyei önkormányzat elnöke vasárnap Facebook-oldalán azt írta: a katasztrófavédelmi bizottság döntése alapján vasárnap terepszemlét tartott a Sóháton, ahol a Korond-patak bezúdult a bányába.
A vízügy és az Országos Sóipari Társaság (Salrom) megállapították, hogy „a Dózsa-bánya fölött megjelent két-három süllyedés”, ezért elrendelték a veszélyeztetett terület közvetlen közelében élő családok ideiglenes kitelepítését.
A román állami tulajdonban lévő Salrom által működtetett parajdi sóbányába a hét elején tört be ismét a felette folyó Korond-patak vize. Az áradat néhány nap alatt teljesen elöntötte a bánya valamennyi részlegét, a légúti betegségek kezelésére és látogatók fogadására kialakított turisztikai szintet és a legújabb, Telegdy-bányát is, ahol 1991-ben kezdődött meg a sókitermelés.
Szombaton Nicusor Dan román államfő is felkereste a parajdi közösséget, és azt ígérte, hogy a hatóságok nem hagyják magukra a bajba jutott embereket: a bányászok és az idegenforgalomból élők kárpótlást kapnak, a sóbányát pedig – a lehetőségek szerint – részben vagy egészben, de legalább az idegenforgalom számára megpróbálják megmenteni.

Legkevesebb hét ember életét vesztette, tizenketten pedig megsérültek egy Nyugat-Jáva tartománybeli kőbányában bekövetkezett omlás miatt – közölték pénteken az indonéziai hatóságok.
A súlyos baleset a Gunung Kuda bányában történt a Cirebon régióbeli Bobos faluban – tájékoztatott Mamang Fatmono, a tartomány kutató- és mentőcsoportjának vezetője.
A helyi illetékesek tájékoztatása szerint a bányaomlás bekövetkeztekor számos ember dolgozott a bányában.
Fatmono közlése szerint hét holttestet találtak a helyszínen, 12 sérültet a régió egyik kórházába szállítottak, három eltűnt ember után pedig még folyik a kutatás – írja az MTI.
Hozzáfűzte, hogy a mentésben csoportjának tíz tagja, emellett rendőrök, katonák és önkéntesek is részt vesznek.
Dedi Mulyadi, Nyugat-Jáva kormányzója a helyi médiának elmondta: félő, hogy a bányaszerencsétlenség áldozatainak száma tovább emelkedhet.

Több áldozatot is követelt egy szörnyű baleset Kínában. Halálos bányaomlás szombaton történt. A tulajdonost őrizetbe vették.
A délnyugat-kínai Szecsuán tartományban holtan megtalálták egy bányaomlás napokon át keresett mind a négy áldozatát – jelentette csütörtökön az állami média a helyi hatóságok közlése alapján.
A baleset szombaton történt a Vanjüan város melletti szénbányában. Szombaton a bányamentők gyorsan reagáltak, de munkájukat akadályozta a magas bányalégkoncentráció, a további omlásveszély és több más körülmény – közölték.
A szénbánya tulajdonosát a rendőrség őrizetbe vette, és nyomozást indított a tragédia ügyében.

Negyvenhárom ember – többségében nők – vesztette életét egy kézi fejtésű külszíni aranybánya beomlása következtében Mali ásványkincsekben gazdag Kayes régiójában – közölte az UCROM ágazati szakszervezet vezetője.
Taoule Camara, az aranyszámlálók és -finomítók országos szakszervezetének (UCROM) főtitkára a Reuters hírügynökségnek elmondta, hogy az áldozatok aranyszemcséket gyűjteni mentek a nagyüzemi kitermelők által hátrahagyott külszíni fejtés területére és a talaj rájuk omlott.
A bányászati minisztérium szóvivőjének a tájékoztatása szerint a baleset Kenieba és Dabia városok között történt, de további részleteket nem közölt, mondván, hogy a minisztérium helyszínre küldött csapatai még nem tettek jelentést.
Nyugat-Afrika nagy részén elterjedt gyakorlat a „kisüzemi” bányászat, ami az elmúlt években a fémek iránti növekvő kereslet és az emelkedő árak miatt egyre jövedelmezőbbé is vált. Gyakoriak viszont a balesetek, mivel a fejtés ellenőrizetlen körülmények között folyik.
Január végén például tizenhárom bányász, köztük nők és három gyermek vesztette életét Mali délnyugati részén, amikor a tárnát, amelyben aranyat ástak, víz árasztotta el.

A sziléziai Myslowice-Wesola kőszénbányában egy földrengés okozta bányaomlásban egy bányász életét vesztette, míg további nyolc társa megsérült – tájékoztatta csütörtökre virradóan a Polska Grupa Górnicza (PGG), Lengyelország legnagyobb szénkitermelő vállalata.
A 2,46-os erősségű, csütörtök esti földrengés következtében 865 méter mélységben bekövetkezett bányaomlásban összesen kilenc bányász sérült meg. Közülük egy a helyszíni újjáélesztési kísérlet ellenére elhunyt. Nyolc vájárt kórházba szállítottak.
Az elhunyt vájár a lengyel bányászat idei évi második halálos áldozata.
Tavaly összesen 15 vájár veszítette életét lengyelországi bányabalesetekben.

Legalább kilenc bányász a föld alatt rekedt, miután földcsuszamlás miatt beomlott a kelet-törökországi Ilic település melletti aranybánya – jelentette be kedden a város polgármestere.
Bekir Aksun a Habertürk televízió állomásnak nyilatkozva elmondta, úgy tudja, hogy legfeljebb 10-12 ember rekedt a bányában.
A török sajtó Ali Yerlikaya belügyminisztert idézve arról számolt be, hogy a bánya 667-en dolgozójából kilenc bányász sorsa nem ismert, hozzátéve, hogy egy 400 fős mentőcsapat indult a keresésükre.
Az Afad, a török katasztrófavédelmi hivatal közlése szerint a földcsuszamlás az Erzincan közelében található Ilic település mellett következett be helyi idő szerint 14 óra 30 perckor, és a környező településekről azonnal mentőcsapatokat küldtek a helyszínre.
Suleyman Pampal geológus a Habertürk televízióban azt mondta, hogy a földcsuszamlás miatt olyan föld zúdult le a hegyoldalból, amelyet a bányászati eljárásban használtak, így veszélyes anyagokat, például cianidot is tartalmazhat. A tudós arra is figyelmeztetett, hogy ennek a veszélyes anyagnak nem szabad elérnie a közelben található Eufrátesz folyó medrét, mert különben súlyos környezeti katasztrófa következne be.
A bányát 2009 óta üzemeltető vállalat, az Anagold, valamint Yilmaz Tunc igazságügyminiszter egyaránt bejelentette, hogy vizsgálatot indítottak a földcsuszamlás pontos okának kiderítésére.
A bányaomlás hírére közösségi médianyilatkozatban reagált a török mérnöki és építészkamarát képviselő egyesület. Azt írták, azért nem lepte meg őket a katasztrófa, mert már korábban is arra hívták fel a figyelmet, hogy a bányát üzemeltető vállalat ellen két jogi eljárás is folyamatban van; ezért az ilici bánya bezárását, majd a terület környezetvédelmi helyreállítását is javasolták.
Törökország egyes vidékein nem ritkák a földcsuszamlások miatt bekövetkező bányomlások, noha a legutóbbi, 41 bányász halálát okozó amasrai beomlást robbanás okozta 2022-ben.

Tizenhárom ember vesztette életét egy illegális zimbabwei aranybányában történt szerencsétlenségben – közölte vasárnap a Constantino Chiwenga, a dél-afrikai ország alelnöke.
Mint mondta, nincs már remény arra, hogy élve találják meg a pénteken történt baleset óta még eltűntként nyilvántartott négy bányászt.
A fővárostól, Hararétól nagyjából 100 kilométerre északnyugatra található, az elvileg bezárt Chegutu-aranybányában összesen 34 vájár rekedt a föld alatt bányaomlás következtében.
A mentőcsapatok 21 túlélőt és kilenc holttestet hoztak a felszínre. „Nagyon nehéz volt őket kihozni a beomlott járatból. Sajnos meg kell békélnünk azzal, hogy az eltűntként számon tartott négy személy már meghalt” – mondta Chiwenga.
Nathan Nkomo, a katasztrófavédelmi alakulat vezetője szerint a mentési műveletet nagyban hátráltatta a megfelelő felszerelés hiánya, ami miatt nem tudtak több életet megmenteni.
Az ásványkincsekben, egyebek között aranylelőhelyekben is gazdag Zimbabwéban számos bányabaleset történt már, a legtöbb életet követelő 1972-ben, amikor egy sor robbanás következtében 427 bányász vesztette életét. A 16 milliós ország azonban komoly gazdasági válsággal küzd, a magas munkanélküliség mellett a szárnyaló infláció sokakat arra kényszerít, hogy illegális bányászati tevékenységet folytasson.

A Reuters a Thanh Nien vietnámi állami újságra hivatkozva számolt be róla, miszerint négy ember életét vesztette, miután beomlott egy szénbánya Vietnám északkeleti részén, Quang Ninh-ben.
A jelentések szerint a baleset szombaton késő este történt egy bányában, amelyet az állami szénbányászati vállalat, a Vinacomin egyik egysége, a Vang Danh Coal Company üzemeltet.
A lap beszámolója alapján a helyszínre vezényelt mentőcsapat négy bányász holttestét találta meg, ám azt egyelőre nem tudni, mi okozta az omlást.
Hozzátették, márciusban hasonló incidens történt, amikor egy, a Vang Danh által üzemeltett bánya beomlott, de akkor nem érkezett jelentés halálos áldozatokról.
A Vinacomin egyik tavalyi jelentésében azt közölte, hogy 2022 első kilenc hónapjában legalább 17 bányász halt meg bányabaleset következtében. Néhány napja pedig bányarobbanás történt Kínában, legalább 11 fő elhunyt.
