Egyre több helyen tüntetnek a tömegturizmus ellen spanyol, portugál és olasz nagyvárosokban. A tiltakozás Barcelonából indult, mostanra több városban is fellázadt a lakosok egy része a turisták ellen.
Több spanyol nagyvárosban is számos tüntető vonult ismét utcára vasárnap, hogy tiltakozzon a tömegturizmus miatt. „A turizmus növekedésének jelenlegi modellje sem nem életképes, sem nem igazságos” – jelentették ki sajtóközleményükben a San Sebastián-i akció szervezői, de követeléseik hasonlóak voltak a Barcelonában, a Granadában és a Baleár-szigetek városaiban tüntetőknek is. Mindannyian azt szeretnék elérni, hogy olyan turisztikai modellt vezessenek be, amely nem gyakorol negatív hatást a helyiek jólétére és a városokra, ugyanis a tömegturizmus kiszorítja a helyieket bizonyos kerületekből, felhajtja a lakásárakat, ezzel súlyosbítja a lakhatási válságot, és hozzájárul a megélhetési költségek emelkedéséhez is.
„A turizmus megfoszt a kenyértől, a tetőtől, a jövőtől” – írták transzparenseikre a Barcelonában tiltakozók, akik a plakátok mellett vízipisztolyokkal felszerelkezve vonultak a belvárosban mintegy két órán keresztül, mielőtt a Sagrada Familia székesegyház közelében a hatóságok feltartóztatták őket. Egy hostel előtt konfliktusba keveredtek az ott dolgozókkal, mert a tüntetők többször megpróbálták szalaggal lezárni a bejáratot, amelyhez petárdákat és bengáli tüzet is dobtak.
A szervezők a tüntetés során elmondott kiáltványukban hangsúlyozták: akciójuk nem a turisták ellen irányul, hanem közösségük megmentésére, és arra, hogy felhívja a politikusok figyelmét a probléma kezelésének sürgősségére. Spanyolországba tavaly minden korábbinál több, 94 millió külföldi turista látogatott el, amivel a világon Franciaország után a második legnépszerűbb úti cél volt.
A tiltakozási hullám Spanyolországból lassan átterjed más turisztikai célpontokra is, a Sky News tudósítása szerint már Lisszabonból, illetve Olaszországból is hasonló akciókat jelentettek.
Becslések szerint az európaiak idén 11%-kal többet, 617 milliárd eurót költhetnek nyaralásra, Franciaország és Spanyolország idegenforgalma növekedhet a legnagyobb mértékben.

Újabb heves esőzések sújtották Spanyolországot hétfőn, köztük Barcelonát is, ahol „rendkívüli veszély” miatt vörös riasztást adtak ki.
Az érintett területeken élők mobiltelefonos üzenetet kaptak a „folyamatos esőzésről”, és a hatóságok figyelmeztették őket, hogy „ne utazzanak, kivéve, ha feltétlenül szükséges”, valamint kerüljék el a szurdokokat és csatornákat – írta a Sky News.
Oscar Puente közlekedési miniszter közölte, hogy az északkelet-katalóniai elővárosi vonatjáratokat leállítják a polgári védelem kérésére, tekintettel a térség nyolcmillió lakosának biztonságára. Az El Prat repülőtéren több tucat járatot töröltek, miután a terminált elárasztotta a víz.

A bérleti díjak az elmúlt tíz évben 68 százalékkal, a lakásvásárlás költségei pedig 38 százalékkal emelkedtek a második legnépesebb spanyolországi városban, ami miatt szakszervezetek cselekvésre szólították fel az embereket.
A lakáspiaci árak óriási emelkedését főként a turistáknak kiadott lakások (leginkább Airbnb-k) bérleti díjai generálják.
A tüntetők ezért egész nyáron a barcelonai turistákat akarták elrettenteni a spanyol város meglátogatásától. Volt amikor vízipisztollyal lövöldöztek, máskor pedig a „Turisták, menjetek haza” szöveget skandálva vonultak utcára.

A spanyol hatóságok négy tonna kokaint foglaltak le Barcelonában, ami rekordmennyiségnek számít a város kikötőjének történetében – jelentette be pénteken a spanyol rendőrség.
A közlemény szerint a rizseszsákokba rejtett kokainszállítmány Paraguayból érkezett Spanyolországba egy olyan spanyol vállalat szervezésében, amely dél-amerikai rizst importál. A nyolc ember igazoltatásával kezdődő, majd őrizetbevételével folytatódó rendőrségi rajtaütést nemzetközi nyomozás előzte meg, amely már 2023-ban figyelni kezdte a cég tevékenységét a paraguayi rendőrség és az amerikai kábítószerellenes ügynökség (DEA) bevonásával.
A nyomozók megállapították, hogy a kokaincsempészek a paraguayi fővárosban, Asunciónban előbb műanyag zsákokba töltötték a kábítószert, majd a zsákokat kézzel varrott zsákokba helyezve indították útnak a több tonnás szállítmányokat nemcsak a spanyol hanem más európai országok, így Nagy-Britannia és Belgium piacaira is.
A bűnszervezet tagjai között külkereskedelmi- és szállítási szakemberek, az ügyletben hasznot látó befektetők és a biztonságért felelő munkatársak is voltak.
A dél-amerikai kábítószerszállítmányok egyik fő európai belépőpontjának számító Spanyolországban júniusban már volt egy hasonló rendőrségi akció, amikor 8 tonna kokaint sikerült lefoglalni és 40 csempészt őrizetbe venni.

Barcelonában egy hírhedt bűnözőt kivégeztek sikertelen drogügyletei miatt. A férfi túlélési esélyei igen alacsonyak voltak, több bérgyilkos is üldözte, majd menekülés közben öt lövést kapott különböző fegyverekből.
Öt golyóval öltek meg egy német drogbárót Barcelonában. A német Focus című lap azt írja, hogy a szóban forgó, lmettin A. nevű férfi, egy hírhedt német–török származású bűnöző volt, a gyilkosság hátterében pedig egy latin-amerikai kartellel folytatott üzleti vita állt.
A bűncselekmény múlt szombaton történt a barcelonai olimpiai falu közelében, ahol feltehetően több gyilkos várt lesben állva a férfira, akit Észak-Rajna–Vesztfáliából rendeltek számonkérésre Spanyolországba. Az áldozatot menekülés közben érte az öt találat, négy golyó a fején, egy pedig a testén.
A helyi sajtó beszámolói szerint a meggyilkolt drogbárót „Tekin Kartal” néven ismerték, és egy olyan drogbanda feje volt, amely a Nagy-Britanniába irányuló heroinszállítmányok 90 százalékáért felel.

A meggyilkolt drogbáró még 2021-ben vált hírhedtté Törökországban, amikor részt vett egy isztambuli lövöldözésben. Akkor egy ékszerész halt meg az összecsapásban, aki a lánya védelmére kelt. A bűnöző ezt követően Németországba menekült, és állítólag azóta Düsseldorfban tartózkodott.

Több tízezren vonultak utcára Barcelonában vasárnap, tiltakozva az ellen, hogy a 2017-ben alkotmányellenesen megtartott katalán függetlenségi népszavazás szervezésében érintett vezetők amnesztiát kapjanak az államtól.
A Katalán Civil Társadalom (SCC) nevű szervezet felhívására a városi rendőrség szerint 50 ezren, a szervezők szerint 300 ezren vettek részt a belvároson áthaladó meneten, amely a „Nem az én nevemben: sem amnesztia, sem önrendelkezés” feliratú molinó mögött vonult fel.
Az esemény jelszavát hangosan skandálta a spanyol zászlókat lobogtató tömeg, amelyben megjelent Alberto Núnez Feijóo, a konzervatív Néppárt (PP) elnöke, valamint Santiago Abascal, a jobboldali Vox párt elnöke is.
Elda Mata, az SCC elnöke felszólalásában alkotmányellenes aberrációnak nevezte, hogy bíróság által elítélt katalán politikusok amnesztiát kapjanak „politikai szívességekért cserébe”.
A spanyol parlament két katalán függetlenségi pártja, a Katalán Köztársasági Baloldal (ERC), valamint az Együtt Katalóniáért (Junts per Catalunya) ugyanis a katalán vezetők rehabilitálását szabta feltételül ahhoz, hogy képviselői akár csak tartózkodással közreműködjenek az új spanyol kormány megalakulásában.
Miután a júliusi általános választásokon győztes PP elnöke nem kapta meg a törvényhozás támogatását a miniszterelnöki poszthoz, VI. Fülöp király új jelöltet, Pedro Sánchez ügyvivő kormányfőt, a Spanyol Szocialista Munkáspárt (PSOE) főtitkárát kérte fel a tisztségre.
Pedro Sánchez ezt követően bejelentette: a Vox kivételével minden parlamenti párttal egyeztetést kezdeményez a lehetséges együttműködésekről, támogatásokról.
A szocialista vezetőnek saját pártja 121 igen szavazata mellett további 55 támogató voksra van szüksége ahhoz, hogy újból kormányfővé váljon. A parlament katalán pártjainak szavazatai nélkül matematikailag nincs esélye a győzelemre, miután a PP tartózkodással sem hajlandó közreműködni megválasztásában.
Amennyiben a spanyol törvényhozás november 27-ig nem választ új kormányfőt, új választásokat kell tartani, várhatóan január közepén.

A szombati nap folyamán ismét Barcelona utcáira özönlöttek a Spanyolországtól való függetlenséget követelő katalánok.
Évek óta nem látott hangulat költözött ismételten Katalónia utcáira, több ezren a függetlenségért kiáltottak, zászlókat lengettek és énekeltek – írja a Reuters. A legtöbb demonstráló maszkban jelent meg, rendőrségi becslések szerint akár 108 ezer ember is részt vehetett.
A demonstrációt az Assemblea Nacional Catalana, vagyis a Katalán nemzetgyűlés szervezete. Ez volt az első menet azóta, hogy kegyelemben részesítette a spanyol kormány azt a 9 szeparatista vezetőt, akiket még a 2017-es függetlenségi népszavazás miatt zártak börtönbe.
Az ANC állítása szerint egyébként jelentős aluldatálás a rendőrségi nyilvántartás, valójában 400 ezer ember is részt vett a demonstráción. Ez azonban bőven elmarad a 2019-es tüntetéstől, ahol állítólag 600 ezer katalán vett részt.
A kegyelemben részesített politikusok és aktivisták egy része is részt vett a demonstrációkon, köztük egyikük, Jordi Cuixart kulturális aktivista arra sürgette a népet, hogy továbbra is folytassák a harcot a függetlenségükért:
„Azok, akik arra kérnek minket, hogy lapozzunk egy fejezetet és ne harcoljunk az önrendelkezésünkért…. Mi Spanyolország terve Katalánóiával? Semmi, csak elnyomás és még több elnyomás”
Szeptember 11 egyébként nemcsak az amerikai terrortámadások miatt emlékezetes évforduló, a katalánoknak ekkor még különlegesebb nemzettragédiájuk van, ugyanis 1714-ben ezen a napon esett el Barcelona a spanyol királyi erőkkel ellen.
A demonstrációk politikailag viszonylag kedvező légkörben történtek meg, amikor Madrid és Barcelona között nincs akkora feszültség. A függetlenségről alkotott ellentétes vélemények ellenére ugyanis a felek abban egyetértettek, hogy párbeszédre van szükség.
Pedro Sanchez, Spanyolország miniszterelnöke azonban nem biztos, hogy részt vesz az egyébként jövő héten esedékes találkozón a barcelonai reptér miatt kialakult ellentétre hivatkozva. A spanyol kormány ugyanis nemrég bejelentette, le fog mondani egy 1.7 milliárd eurós befektetést a reptér bővítésére, ugyanis a katalán hatóságok több környezetvédelmi aggodalmat is megfogalmaztak.

Egy 39 éves férfi holttestét találták meg Barcelonában, egy dinoszaurusz szobrában. A hatóságokat szombaton értesítette egy férfi, miután fiával együtt furcsa szagot éreztek egy papírmaséból készült dinoszaurusz-szobor mellett Barcelonában.
Nem sokkal később egy repedésen keresztül észre is vették a holttestet a dinoszaurusz lábában. A holttestet végül a tűzoltók vágták ki a szoborból. Az áldozat eltűnését családja már korábban bejelentette.

A szobrot – ami egyébként több másik alkotással együtt egy régi mozit reklámozott korábban – azóta teljesen eltávolították a helyszínről.
